Used 2001 Mazda MX-5 Miata Consumer Reviews
The Amazing Miata
After four years I have to say I still love my Miata. My mission the day I bought it was to buy a WRX. However coming out of a convertible I was not prepared to totally forego an opening top. The WRX at that time did not have an available sunroof. The other problem, they were so hot all I could find were automatics! Just down the street was a Mazda dealership and I thought why not, the price was right. My test drive sold me 100%! I scared the salesman so that was a bonus. As a former policeman I drive like one ;) The handling is simply spot on superb. Though the stock Bridgestones were awful under 50 degrees. I put on GForce T/As and love them. One request - a bit more HP.
Driving those Hills in San Francisco
I bought my car on Halloween Night! 2nd Miata (traded in 1993)and was very pleased on the upgrades over the years...Very comfortable, but having had MG's and an old Miata felt a lot of the rough/bumpy of the old Sports car was missing...I enjoyed that kind a feeling...The Mazda rumble is missing. More like a whine! Car is more like a cushy compact with the top down. Handles beautifully. Wont win any speed races with the power.

What a great car!
My Mazda Miata MX-5 fulfilled everything I wanted in a convertible - sleek, sexy and sporty. It's a blast to drive. I can't wait to until 5pm when I can leave work and have some real fun. Handles wonderfully, stops on a dime and I'm usually the first off the line from a red light.
Life after 50, it doesn't get any better
Last July, after my 1st Miata, (a '94 classic red model) was "totalled" I purchased a Crystal Blue LS number. I have been plesantly surprised by the improvements and feature upgrades over the years. This is my second Miata and definitely not my last, how can you go wrong for under $25K? Living in MA, its striclty a summer car. Forget trying to drive it in snow and if possible, avoid the highway (too many Rs @80MPH).
No snow bunny
Love this car, but have to give it up. Do not, DO NOT take your Miata out in the snow! Slides on straight-aways, even with concrete blocks in the trunck! If this will be your only car and you live North of the Mason-Dixon, buy something else. I'll miss it in the summer.
