Mazda 2016 CX5 brakes are a problem!

Liked the car pretty much except for the fact that it is very noisy at startup. Now I am very annoyed with the fact that the brakes will need to be replaced, including one caliper in the rear left brake that is frozen. I never use the electronic emergency brake so that is not the cause. The pads are in rough shape and there is a lot of rust on the brakes. The car only has 45000+ miles on it. I have NEVER had this problem with any other car I/we owned. In reading online about these brakes I found that there are a lot of other folks experiencing the same thing. So, I hope that Mazda will take notice and work on fixing this problem. In the past I did see that Mazda was replacing some brakes on the CX5 for older years even when out of warranty due to this same issue. However, it appears that the 2016 Mazda CX5 brake problem is not being addressed. I will switch back to always buying a Toyota.

The Little Sporty Car with a Large Attitude

I found the car on my hometown Ford dealership used car lot. I proceeded to get Consumer Report information on Mazda's research and found that their vehicles are rated very high against competition. I researched the weight of the CX -5, which is about 4500 lbs. I test drove the vehicle, compared it to other similar vehicles in my market area and used my findings to negotiate price and benefits from my dealer. Because of my research and diligence I was able to reduce original price by $1500 and ultimately I negotiated a 12,000 mile bumper to bumper added warranty, because the original warranty had nearly expired. I have been very satisfied with the performance of the Mazda CX-5.

I did tons of research..and am very very happy with this car. I opted for the tech pack and the grand touring. I wanted the leather and the cooler wheels and the led lights..also the 9 speaker bose system is awesome. Mazda of North Miami were great! Perfect car..looks dope, great on gas...huge inside for a compact car..better ride than the lexus NX also

had a cx 5 2013 the radio was nicer for the fact that the usb port worked with a mp3 player and the 2016 won't. First we were told the mp3 player wasn't new enough for the newer radio, so we baught a new mp3 player and still wont work through the usb port, then they told us the technology in the 2016 wasn't able to read the mp3 player. So why was the 2013 able to do so but the newer 2016 wont???????

Test drove - great car - lacked "zoom zoom"

We loved everything about the CX5 AWD Grand Touring except for its lackluster power. The zoom zoom we were looking for was just not there. Similar power to weight ratio to the Ford Escape 1.6 ecoboost and Hyundai Tuscon Limited. We wanted to like it for everything else, but couldn't get past the feeling of not being able to get out of it's own way. The new "MMI" style audi/nav interface was so simple to use while driving. Win there for Mazda. Just lacked the zoom zoom.

just upgraded from my mazda 3 hatch into the 2016 cx-5 touring with bose/moonroof. its a great car with amazing handling for a vehicle in this class. I was shocked at how well it holds the road even with its 8.5 inch of ground clearance. this really is a great little suv.

Owned since 4/16. 25,000 miles. Safety features are great; Especially the blind spot warning indicators. I opted for the GT because it was the only trim with XM radio and leather.Plus I really like the optional LED light package. The ride is smooth and has all the pep I need as I mostly drive highway so, I set the cruse and forget it. Mileage range is 25/30 mpg. The seats are very comfortable and sit up high. I'm 6'2" and the ride is smooth and comfortable. The only issue is the center console and the cup holder location. To access the console safely, you'll need to pull off the highway because you have to turn your body around to access the thing! Bose speakers are OK but, I expected more from Bose. So far, I'm happy with the car but...for the cons...... l typically keep a car for 10 years and the durability of components concerns me. I completely clean and detail this vehicle every week and have noticed a few things that concern me after only 1.5 yrs. Some of the finish has started "flaking " around the info screen, the handle in the hatch to release rear seats keeps falling out. And while it fits good, some interior plastic parts just feel "cheap". Exterior: The paint must be micro thin. I don't tailgate but the hood has numerous small chips and over reviews have noted the same issue. The exterior black plastic faded very quickly and must be dresses every week to keep the shine. My wife has a 3 year old vw Jetta and you can almost feel the difference in the paint thickness. While I believe I'll get good service from this CX-5, the appearance 3 years from now does concern me.
