Mazda 6 2004 is Strong
I bought this vehicle when I was almost broke, and got it exchanged by my Benz s class. It had almost 300k miles on it and I was afraid that it could hardly run for 6 months or so, but as I driven this vehicle I found it powerful, comfortable and 5 years passed by, I just repaired few parts, tires and starter. Only 1 speaker of Radio use to work I remember but damn the sound system was awesome. Overall guys great performance vehicle

major diappointment. original owner high miles
Suspension and steering held up well but that was about it. From the ceiling falling down, seats breaking, and dome lights and stereo displays not working properly to brake, cooling system, ignition and ac issues up to having to replace the engine at 50k (then second Mazda warranty engine started leaking oil at about 50k miles later). Not to mention engine light codes that mechanics have trouble figuring out, and that seem to come and go when they please. I have had lots of issues with this car and some terrible dealer service. More problems with this one car than my previous 5 cars I have owned over the last 30 or so years combined. It surprises me, but some people don't have a lot of problems and some do. If I didn't know a fair amount about cars and proper maintenance, and drove it more aggressively, I think it would have died a long time ago.

If it was only rear wheel drive
My wife love this car.A 6s loaded. She says she is always being asked, "what is it?" It's so beautiful and sleek. I find the car easy on the eyes with nice style. Performance is very good with the 5speed but a 6speed rear drive platform would leave the 3 series BMW in the dust. Seats are ok just alittle to wide and to hard for my back. Could use tighter suspension with less body roll. Bigger sway bars front and rear and a strut bar for the front would do the trick.
Love this Car!
Love, love, love this car! This has been an amazing car! Drives and handles like a sports car. I have never had any major, or minor, problems with it. Part of the LCD display for the air vent was out when I bought it. I have the 4-cylinder manual and consistently get 32 MPG! This car handles well in all weather and elevations. Love the brakes and tight steering. Very responsive and smooth on the highway. I get lots of complements on the car and everyone that drives it loves it as well. I will be getting another Mazda when I finally have to part with this one.
Good Car
I purchased a 2004 Mazda 6 I (automatic not manual) from a dealership with 40 K on it in 2009. Today I have put another 40 K on it and it runs well. Wheels do wear more on the front half, came fully loaded and has traction control and ABS. This is not handy when driving up steep, snow covered/mush hills in the winter. Other than that, found a crack in the windshield but has not leaked into car. Display for CD player is loosing pixels or dots so volume does not display fully sometimes. Other than that, good car, bad with gas due to V6 engine. Newer models have better mileage.
