Fun, underrated little hatch!
Absolutely love this vehicle, I have owned over 7 vehicles and working at a dealer I get to test drive many brands and models. Mazda 3 hatchback I own it’s right there, I honestly have not find anything to complain about, just perhaps not going for the Turbo model (I own the S with Select package).

Mazda 3 is luxury-sporty car at a reasonable
First of all, I don't like SUV's! Second, I'm not a NASCAR or Formula 1 guy but I like compact cars that feel and drive like cars and can squeeze in tight spaces! Third, I'm 64 years of age nearing retirement! Here ar a few points that might be helpful for car shoppers. A quick note: (FYI) this is my 3rd Mazda (i.e. 1 Mazda 6 and 2 Mazda 3) since early 2000's. So, there might a bit of a bias in favor of Mazda. This time around, I was considering buying a Honda Civic, Accord, Toyota Corolla, Corolla Cross, or Camry. But, I didn't want to pay those crazy prices and/or didn't want go with a compact Corolla. I even looked at Toyota Corolla Cross and Honda HR-V. Excellent economical and dependable vehicles, but they are not for me! So, once again, I ended up buying another Mazda at a very reasonable price with a total bill a bit north of $25K, taxes etc all included! I mostly agree with all the other reviews. The engine is responsive and powerful. The infotainment was not my #1 priority, but dependability was. BTW, the infotainment works just fine, and the control knob is nicely positioned, very user friendly, and intuitive. The interior is almost luxurious! Also, I was looking for a fun-to-drive car. Mazda 3 checked all those points! The 2.5L Skyactiv ICE sounds great and very responsive even in the ECO mode! On the downside, yes, the ride is a bit stiffer but hey it's luxury-sporty car. It feels like you driving a sport car with classy and stylish interior. Also, the height is 1 inch shorter than my previous 2011 Mazda 3, which was an excellent car. (FYI) After 13 years, I sold my 2011 Mazda 3 to my mechanic for $1,500 to give you an idea how dependable the car was. Only minor issues but "0" issues with the 2.0L engine or the transmission! Just regular oil changes and breaks after 7 years of daily usage. There is no question or doubt in my mind that this is a powerful and very stylish car. Would I buy it again? Yes, I would without blinking! Ona final note, -as a suggestion- given the 2.5L ICE, Mazda's KODO designers could design a new Mazda 3 could fill the gap between a Mazda 6 and the current Mazda 3. But, currently, the market wants SUV's and trucks. So, we'll see what happens. Hope this helps.

It’s ok but with issues.
The vehicle as a whole, decent. The issues I am experiencing are the door seals that run across the top of the front doors started to sag. Brought car to dealership to fix the issue and it was fine for about a year. Seals started sagging again and are now getting hung up on the rear door seals and causing the front doors to stick when opening. The paint is also very thin and is easily subject to chipping from the smallest particle of road debris. I’m rather disappointed that I bought this car. Probably will not be buying another Mazda if these issues continue after warranty runs out.

Do not recommend a Mazda 3
We had two Maza 6 vehicles, and Mazda 3 was a huge disappointment with no legroom in the front or back. We felt claustrophobic, like being in a time capsule. The seats were also uncomfortable compared to the Mazda 6. Faulty design compared to the Mazda 6. So sorry they discontinued them. We would have continued to buy them if they were available.
