I just purchased the 5-speed 4s with the sports package about 48 hours ago. Purchase price $16,300 -- What more can you ask for from an entry level car as far as performance, style, and functionality are concerned. This car looks like a bigger souped up jetta, performs like the matrix Xrs, feels like an eclipse spyder on the turns, but costs a few thousands less! All my assessment for the vehicle is based on the buying price and the fact that this car is an entry level model.

The Mazda 3 is well worth the price. I would not recommend any other car in its class. Once you test drive the 5- speed you will be hooked for life. The automatic has terrible pickup, and doesn't get any better with the clutchless shift. I wouldn't give my 3 up to anyone.

When I was test driving cars I had never even heard about the Mazda 3. Friend mentioned it, I was trying to be very opened minded when looking for a car. I tested it and fell in love. I love all of the features and price range. My friend has a 2003 Acura TL type S and there were features mine had that he wish his had. Power is good. Good gas milages for the size of the car. I LOVE this car.

The first time you look at the mazda 3, your mind can hardly believe that this is an economy vehicle. It has none of the woes of an econobox but has the pricing of one. The shifting is smooth and precise and the throws are short. The engine noise is also noticeably more quiet than the previous protege's. The features are unbelievable for a car of this price range. With available xenon and dvd navigation, mazda 3 owners can have what they've only dreamed possible in a luxury vehicle. While the loaded price of this vehicle is a hefty, $23,075 (MSRP fully loaded 3s Sedan Automatic), the vehicle starts at $14,200 (MSRP 3i model).

I considered a civic but this car is better looking inside and out. It's got more power and designed better and I paid a thousand less. Its got a lot of little features that most cars at this price wouldn't dream of. I am averageing 33mpg and have gotten 38mpg on a trip. The car is tight and handles great. It also has plenty of room for its size.

great acceleration, going 60 too soon. Have the optional seats w/lumbar support and works great; very nice arms out driving position. Head rest are really that, not some funky heat restraint that only looks good but doesn't support my head. The 16 in wheels and low profile tires looks and rides good. Very nice back seat area with head rest; just like a luxury car w/o the high cost, only thing that is needed in the back to complete the luxury car status would be a folding armrest. Handling and braking is pretty good but have not really explore the limits of these two areas because the car is still pretty new- only about 2 weeks old.

I had $100 down on a Corolla, drove the 3i automatic and went home with the demo. This car gets sweeter by the day. A very nice blend of gas mileage and performance. It is not a really fast car, but it doesn't seem to matter. 32 mpg in rural driving. I go for rides in this thing, something I haven't done in years. Poor AC. Maybe I am nuts, but sometimes this car feels much faster than at other times. Not much dickering on price going on.

Pros: Turns great, decent mileage, comfortable (front seats), looks really nice, roomy trunk space, and better than average performance. Cons: Lights keep coming on in front panel, no parts available for this car-- cracked windshield could only be replaced at dealership with original part costing $$$$, one tire blew and the tire can only be changed at dealership (no place has it but factory), to sit comfortable in the front leaves very little space for back seats, very tight ride--not so smooth, and last.. the horn is horrible.

I currently have 2 Mazdas in my driveway; a Protege 5 and a 3 sedan. Why? Because Mazda builds a great car for the money. Fun to drive, handsome, decently built, well equipped; what's not to like? Yes, my new 3 has a rattle in the door to be looked into and some parts of the car are executed better than others, but the sum of these parts is simply not to be beat at its price point. More soul than a Honda or a Toyota, fewer quirks and better reliability than a Subaru, less over-the-top styling than a Nissan, WAY more reliability than a VW: in short, Mazda is on to something. Vroom-Vroom!!

A nice balance between performance, style, safety and comfort. Going 75 MPH on the highway feels like your doing 40 MPH with a smooth quite ride that makes you feel safe.

Wow! Cars are usually just to get from point A to point B, but this sure makes getting there lots of fun. Great car to drive, lots of zip with the 5 speed manual. Great audio system, seating and comfort. I researched cars for two months before getting the 3i. Every other car I did test drives on was okay, the 3i was an immeadiate differnce where you felt like you were in something special. People can't believe this much car for so little money.

Was looking at the base Accord coupe for a while when I came across the Mazda 6. After a lot of research on the 6, I accidentally stumbled upon the Mazda 3S. I read 6 reviews of the car on the internet- all very positive. I arranged a test drive using Edmunds.com and I can say that this is one of the stylish and nicely built cars in the under $20K price segement. Interior is nicely styled and comfortable. Automatic transmission has a pseudo-manual mode. The lines and curves of the car reminds me of more highly priced sedans- this car turns heads wherever it goes.

This is a great car. If your considering a Honda Civic or a Toyota, even a Jetta, take a look at the Mazda3. For the money I dont think anything compares! I have been car shopping for 3 months, was going to make the "typical" purchase of the Honda Civic. Toyota just had no appeal and the Jetta was a little pricy for everything thing I wanted, sunroof, CD changer, pwr everything, etc. Once I heard about the Mazda3 coming out I thought I would hold off. I sure am glad I held out for the Mazda3 to arrive. 2 days with this car and I know I made the right decision. Great Warranty too. The dealership in Hagerstown MD was great to work with as well!

I love the quality of this car especially for the price. The feel is also sports car like, smooth shifting man-mode. The stereo is out of this world for such an entry level sedan. I chose the six speaker system w the 16" wheel package. I also chose the fog lamps, which they complete the look for this Velocity Red Mica sedan. The paint has a lot of metallic gold flakes in the paint, nice touch when the sun is out.

Compare this to a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla and you are flat out nuts! The 3 is way faster, handles ten times as good, and has a longer warranty. What more can you want right? Well it looks better too, and costs the same. I'm tired of the Honda and Toyota cliche. Honda and Toyota aren't better anymore people! And this is coming from a used to be loyal Honda owner. Mazda is it now! Mazda is doing and building cars now, like Honda and Toyota used to.

It's a great drive, sometimes a little to much fun. Very fast -- the Zoom Zoom is so true! The mileage is good; it gets 300 or so miles to the tank. With the price of gas it could be better. I drive mostly highway on a daily basis and was hit from behind by a car going about 65 miles an hour. All I could think of was my cars condition. When I got out and looked I was in shock to see almost no evidence that I was even hit. The other cars air bags were all deployed but none of mine were. This is a strong built vehicle . i got back in and drove away like nothing even happened. The only problem with this car is the air conditioner, defroster and heat. None of them seem to get going in a timely matter.

I bought a fully equipted 4drS in lieu of the Mini Cooper I lusted after for years. This little 3 just fits, I'm 6'3". It looks great, handles like a dream, rides very comfortably, turns tighter than the Mini and has a longer wheel base than my old Mazda 626. It runs on regular fuel and is just plain fun to drive. It has all the features of cars two or three times its cost. I have GPS navigation and its both fun and practical. The Mini was fun but try hitting a speed hump at the posted limit and you'll take the 3 as your daily driver. Fun and practical and cheap. Hard to beat.

This is my first "new" car, and it has been very fun to drive. The Mazda3 has the best combination of interior and exterior style around, and I love just looking at it. Aside from very marginal A/C, and excessive rear brake dust, this car have been trouble free (4000 miles so far). The acceleration from the 2.3 engine is smooth and the auto trans shifts very smoothly, and I love the manumatic function. Also the ride is comfortable / sporty without being harsh.

Picked up my Mazda 3s sedan in black mica one month ago. Car offers good bang for the buck and the engine pulls hard...best towards the top of 2nd gear. The 5 speed shifts smoothly although the clutch could be a little heavier. Car looks good and the rear end is sporty I think. Sound system is good (get the moonroof 6 CD package!) and the glovebox is roomy too. Four wheel disc brakes with nice wheels are a welcoming feature that not many cars in this price range offer. The console is good and the trunk has plenty of room.

A. It's hard to rate build quality after and reliability after 1 month. B. My only complaint is one of the things I loved at first. It's hard to read all the red stuff on the dash at night. Also, the emergency brake light should be a color other than red or a signal should sound. The red brake light just blends in with all the other red.

I bought a black loaded 2.3L Mazda 3 sedan with auto, leather, mp3 player, 17" wheels, and aero package. Interior quality and design is comparable to much more luxurious (ie $$$) cars. The exterior with the aero package and the 17" wheels manages to be classy and racy from all angles. The 2.3L feels strong and relaxed if not racy. Leather seats are comfortable but don't have a seat warmer option. The dash looks great at night even though the instrument cluster is a little busy. Handling is top notch with the ride never being harsh. Highly recommended. The Mazda 3 is by a landslide the best in class.
