Staying in the family!!!
I purchased this car after my in-law totaled my 2001 GS300. What an improvement. In the previous car I didn't have the Mark Levinson, satellite or other upgrades normally found in the GS 430 or LS 430. This car is definitely an upgrade over the previous. I'll stay with Lexus as long as they'll have me.
First time Lexus buyer
The GS 300 is a lot of fun to drive. There is not much difference in feel from the 300 to the 430. Navigation system is a little clumsy to operate and the XM radio has poor reception compated to other XMs I've had, but overall the creature comforts of the car are very good. The look and feel of the car overall is great. I have owned Acura, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, but Lexus is a better car for the money. Lexus just has a different feel that I have not experienced with any other. Great car!

Outstanding
We were already a Lexus owner (2004 ES 330) and looking for even more luxury and performance. The GS 300 provided that and more in a beautiful red exterior (Matador Red) that turns heads!
Great car, missed important protection
Car has a great drive and is fun to be in..
2006 Lexus GS300
This is one fine car. I looked at the M35 first, I didn't walk, I ran out of the dealership, it was too loud, not refined. When I testdrove the GS3 I did not have to go on to see the 535i, I was sold on the Lexus, it rides like a dream, it looks killer, its just such a beautiful machine- true luxury unlike the competition- in my opinion.
Great Blend of Sport and Luxury
Using this car for business and pleasure is a delight. Most of the tests I've read in the car magazines critisize it for not being Porsche- like in the sport handling context. On Americas highways this car has all the smoothness and agility you could ask for. The interior amenities are numerous and very useful. I could drive it forever.
Best Value
The Lexus GS AWD is fun to drive and more youthful than the E Class and Acura RL. The GS has the best exterior styling. It is very quiet and has a very smooth ride. When it is time to go the GS moves quickly, like a trained stallion. The interior is rich, but not overstated. The controls are place perfectly. People just stare at the car. The GS has exceeded my expectation in value, ride/drive, and design. It is the perfect car for an excutive that runs a conservative and innovative business. The car adds to a person's brand.
Driven to perfection
The GS300 has plenty of great features, but the user interface to those features is horrific. If pushing 4 buttons and messing with the touch screen is your idea of how to mange the heater, then you will love this vehicle. I do not want a vehicle which is constantly drawing my eyes from the road, and causing distraction.
2006 Lexus GS300
We bought this car about a month ago and absolutely love it. The shape is wonderful. It is very quiet and powerful and drives very well. The driver's seat is very comfortable. I think that Consumer Report is way off on their review of this car. The paint job is fabulous. This is our fourth Lexus and we have always had very good reliability from these cars.
GS 300
I absolutely love my GS. It is smooth, sexy, and relatively powerful. This one is a winner.
My First Car
Very Impressed with the new Lexus GS 300 AWD from the handling to interior design and the lastest technology incorporated into the vehicle. Would recommend the car to anyone looking for an entry level luxury sedan.
GS Ride
The new GS is an excellent machine... the ride is very firm, and solid and feels like a SPORT luxury car should. Still breaking in my car (less than 400 miles) so I cannot comment on the aggressive performance and handling yet, but this car has a silky smooth transmision, and good visibility. I have read about the "tight" drivers seat, but I am 6'2" and have no issues with getting a very comfortable driving position. Plenty of room for me. Expect a lot of smiles and looks while driving this car!
Great car
Very nice car, looks great with the "G" spider wheels. It rides very smooth and very quiet. The "G" spiders pick up a little added road nois but worth every penny. You have to watch your speed as before you know it you're passing everyone up. I love all the little features.
Best Car Ever
I bought this car (AWD version) just yesterday (12/06/05) and drove about 36 miles for the day. This is my 2nd Lexus. I previoulsy owned a GS400 and I have to say, this is the best car ever. The Nav and Mark Lev are awesome. I have all options. Sweet.
Engineered to Perfection
This is my second GS 300 and Lexus has taken the best of the older generations and infused the latest technology into one great package. It offers much more equipment than comparably equipped BMW 5 series and the MB E class. Combined with Lexus reliability, the GS comes out superior in every way. The GS is the class leader because it is assembled in the best robotic assembly plant in the world (Tahara Japan, the same line as used for the LS 430). In this plant Lexus has achieved the highest level of automation in the build cycle, and the lowest defect rate as compared to any other auto manufacturer. BMW and Mercedes do not even come close.
GS 300 AWD
Actual hwy mileage hit 28.8 consistently and at times hit 30.0 mpg. Handled exceptionally well in the snow with no effort. Very impressed with overall driving experience. Previously owned 1999 GS 300. 2006 AWD just took it to the next level.
GS300 in Kuwait
I've driven a lot of cars in my time and when you spend a lot of money on a car, it's really important how the car makes you feel. Auto-journalist reviews can be misleading as they focus on things that just don't matter when you have to live with a car for 50,000 miles - for example on-the-limit road handling and 0-60 acceleration. My decision to buy this car was purely based on how I felt during the test drive, having already sampled the bmw 525 (irritating to live with & expensive), the merc e280 (lacks flair & very expensive), the Audi A6 (more special than the other two and very nearly my choice)...The lexus is gorgeous, relaxing to drive, feels really up-market and way better value..
Lexus GS 300
The GS 300 is a smooth riding and driving car. The sound system is awesome. I have enjoyed the heated seats and the passenger ajustable heating and cooling system. The controls are very nice and can be hidden out of your way. I am a Volvo driver and decided to get a Lexus. The lexus has exceeded my expectations.
Cloud 9 On Wheels
Luxurious performance was my goal in purchasing a new car and the 2006 GS300 had the best blend of luxury and power for my taste. This car has exquisite fit and finish inside the cabin (quietest car I've ever driven) with performance that's comparable to a BMW 5 series (though less sporty around the curves than the BMW). The base stereo system is fantastic. The leather is much softer than a BMW. If you're looking for a smooth, elegant, but powerful car, this is the one to buy. It's possible to get most of the extras and still pay less than the base model MSRP.
Lexus GS 300 by Vic
I traded in my BMW for this machine and let me tell you something, I do not regret it at all. This car is awesome. A lot of technology comes standard, unlike other cars that you have to pay extra. Very good experience.
Smooth Ride
It was a tough choice between the M35 and Lexus GS300. The convincing issues favoring Lexus were: smoother ride, quieter ride and interior finish. We would have liked a bit more wood on the dash-a logical place is the trim strip on upper edge of the glove box. A dream to drive, our first tank of gas resulted in overall average 28.5 mpg
Researched them all, bought the best
Before buying the GS 300, I researched every other competitor, save the Mercedes. They all had their redeeming qualities, but the Lexus had the best combination of all of them - style, creature comforts, build quality/reputation, and pure driving pleasure. I kid you not - I LOVE this car. I previously had a 1999 Porsche 911 Cabriolet, and thought I loved that - I'm sorry Porsche, but our love affair is over. The Lexus emotes luxury - from the welcoming lighting, to the softness and comfortability of the seats.
I LOVE IT!!!!
I have owned many luxury cars in the past including the CTS, BMW 330i, and Lexus RX330; however, this one far surpasses any of those vehicles. First of all, look at it! It's the prettiest car on the road! Second, it's a good buy. LOVE this car! Third, it is so roomy inside the cabin. Fourth, the Nav is easy to use. Fifth, it's a Lexus
Best Luxury Sedan
I had this car for a couple of months and I love it. I actually test drove several vehicles, Infiniti, Acura, and Audi to compare from several perspectives and chose the Lexus GS 300 AWD. I had the dealership change the tires to 18" Michelin Pilot® Sport A/S tires in place of the Goodyear run flat tires and what a difference in ride and handling. This car is fully loaded and the Mark Levinson 14 speaker Audio system is great. I am completely satisfied with this car. This car is an eye-catcher and it delivers on demand.
Best luxury sedan for the money
Lexus makes the best luxury sedan hands down. It is both reliable and performance driven... a real head turner. This has to be the most technologically sophisticated car ever built. Lexus left nothing to chance and anticipated every need the driver or passenger could ever want. The handling and performance easily surpases anything BMW or Mercedes currently offers and the service Lexus provides is light years ahead of any car manufacturer out there today. American car companies need to wake up and realize how an automobile should be built or they won't be around in the very near future.
Another great Lexus
This time, Lexus added more road feel and is sportier. But the same Lexus comfort and all the great technology of the LS 430 is very much present. Just handles better and it's a joy on the road.
great car
Traded bmw 528 for lexus. Very happy to date. Car handles quite well and is very responsive. Drive train seems to be matched extremely well. Compared to bmw steering not quite as good, but then I don't speed on alpine roads.
Great Car
I had stuggled between the Acura RL and the Lexus GS. I have had the car for about 3 weeks and I really love it. The ride in the GS is very smooth and quite peppy. Simply put, the GS is classy. So if you are looking for a refined car that is great on gas and has a nice ride this is it. I leased my car and in 3 years who knows what will be out there.
Awesome
Excellent vehicle -- quality is hard to beat. A great looking car that is very enjoyable to drive.
Ride of my dreams
From the minute I got in to this car, I fell in love. This is the ride of my dreams. The luxury features make me feel pampered. I love to drive, but I have never had this much fun on four wheels. The color is the most perfect shade of metalic red, which accentuates the stylish lines. I was too excited to catch everything from the salesman the night I bought the car, so I keep finding neat things that make me fall more in love. The best part is that I don't have to hunt for my keys anymore, because I'm such a scatterbrain. What a ride!
Great value for the buck
Been driving GS for about a week. Got a great price - $3K below invoice w/ all sorts of options including nav. Ride is smooth. Been getting 34.9 MPG average! That's not a typo! I'm picky about noise and thus far road/wind noise is relatively mute. Tire noise is minimal on most surfaces. No squeaks and rattles so far. Researched my purchase up the ying-yang. I compared M35 and RL but always came back to the GS b/c of its sporty looks, quality, and overall value.
06 GS 300
Fun to drive, excellent handling, very good gas mileage on Hwy. All the buttons are a little confusing, symbols are not very clear or explanatory.
I like it, I love it, I want more of it.
Great car. Nice to drive. I test drove other cars in its class and I loved this car.
Cool
Good investment. It's a comfortable ride if you drive a long way. Very fuel efficient. City drive is about 24 mpg & highway is about 30 mpg. Very smooth. On the bad side, the trunk space is small & headlights are low.
Comfortable Cruiser
This vehicle is hard to beat for the combination of luxury, comfort, reliability and economy. Not as exciting to drive as a BMW and somewhat underpowered, unlike the 07 GS 350, but just as comfortable and more economical. Build quality is legendary, as is reliability. This is my second Lexus and I would not drive anything else.
Lexus for Life
I previously owned a GS 300 in 1995. I absolutely loved the car, but could not afford to keep it after going through a divorce. I always remembered the smooth quite ride and the way the car handled. I have owned 2 Mercedes Benz between 1999 and 2006 and decided to purchase a Lexus in 2006 when the body style changed. It is fully loaded... with the exception of the satellite radio ( I did not like the antenna on the trunk of the car). I absolutely LOVE this car and will never purchase another Mercedes Benz.
To smooth to past.
I definitely enjoy drinking my 06 Lexus GS 300, I enjoy the driving handling, smooth comfort ride the it offers, sporty looks as well.

Never Again
I have had 4 Lexus models, LS 400, SC 430, GS 470 and most recently GS 300. Have to say this is the last Lexus I will ever drive. Have had an annoying clunk in the front end when backing out of a parking spot. Although everyone I have had in the car asks what the clunking sound is, mysteriously, it never occurs at the dealership. They have been unable to fix this ongoing problem. Also, tires had to be replaced at 24,000 kms approximately 15,000. Tires are rated as all season. Do not attempt to drive this car in snow conditions without snow tires. 10 months left on lease, cannot wait till end of term.
Love this car!!
I have had this car since 06 as a lease, a second car if you will, then I lost my job and the car that went with it. This became my everyday car. There were many times I had an empty refrigerator because it was raining and I didn't want to take it out of the garage! I can say in the 3 years I have owned it, it has never been through a car wash, I know every line, scratch, slight dent from a road stone and I love washing and detailing it and listening to the accolades from others there washing their cars. This car even though a lease, was treated like the baby it was intended to be. I had the dealership tint the windows because I found it to look nicer and stay cooler in the summer.
Feels so good
I have had the 2006 GS 300 for about 2 months now. I was bouncing all over on what to get and what sold me on it was the luxury and fuel milage. I drive about 35 miles to work each day and average over 30mpg on the highway cruising at about 75mph. (One tankful, I got 33mpg on a trip.) I'm getting about 24mpg in the city. All this with absolute quality and luxury that you get with Lexus. The performance is solid - it's no rocket, but I didn't buy it for that. One of my friends just got a new BMW 525i at the same time and dollar for dollar he will even tell you I got the better value.
GS300 AWD
The car can be personalized to a tee, however, this is not very easy to do. What I did not like is that when the outside temperature is cold, the transmission takes forever to reach top gear; the manual states it does so on purpose, but I don't like it. Also, while the car is powerful, it has a tendency not to downshift on hills, and thus loses some speed. Of course, stepping on the pedal remedies all that, but to me, it indicates the car's final gear ratio is too high. The gas mileage is unbelievable, but actually a couple of miles less per gallon than indicated on the trip computer. Inside it is a marvel of simplicity and access. Auto Windshield wipers are too fast for me.
Almost Perfect
One of the reasons why I love this car is the styling. It is bold, while still maintaining its GS heritage. First thing you notice when you get inside is the abundance of luxurious materials. Leather is smooth and steering wheel is a dream to hold. Navigation with backup camera is absolutely necessary as visibility is impossible out the back and parking sensors add even more convenience. High performance tires wear out under 25k miles and will be pricey to replace. At 6 feet tall, it fits just right, but any taller and I'd be against the roof. Trunk is spacious, but opening is small and trunk springs make it a struggle to close. Need a real trunk closer/opener.
Safe & Reliable AWD Lexus
I am a car aficionado; I am on six vehicles and then looking to trade this sentimental beauty.

AMAZING!!!!!
I owned a 98 GS and just got the all new 06. Wow!! What a great car!! The smoothness and quietness and the responsiveness are incredible. I loved my old GS, but this one is light years ahead of my old one. The fuel economy is amazing too...3 0 miles per gallon!!
