Smooth and Classy
From the moment I left the dealer I have been thrilled with my Lexus GS 300. It has classic yet new lines, and drives very smoothly. The look to me, the color and everything about it exude class. I am once again thrilled to own a new Lexus.
Lexus does it again
First, I would like to say that this new gs sedan is a vast improvement over the old one. The interior looks a lot better than the previous generation gs. The mark levinson sound system is a great improvement over the 2001-2005 versions of the radio. It is a very classy looking car and gets better gas mileage than the previous gs

Wanna Have Fun?
This is an incredible car. Its very stylish, everyone makes a comment. Its very quick and responsive. Great fuel economy, much better than I expected. It's fun to just cruise or have some quick fun around the corners!
a super experience
My AWD GS 300 holds the road as though Elmer's glue was on my tires. The rear camera make parking a breeze. The nav system is a pleasure... but it is the driving experience that sets this car apart from all others.
More comfort wanted
Cons - The seat belt on drivers side scrapes the seat, wears on the leather and panel it is on. I would like more padding on the seats because I have a bad back. The brakes scrape; feels like they need work but they don't. The panel where mirror controls are in could be on a more accessible place as well as the cell phone charger. Pros - Great gas mileage, love the certified used car option! I get so many compliments! Right now I have to decide whether to stay with the sporty look and feel or go back to the mid-sedan car for more comfort. I would recommend this car.
Why Lexus Is The Best
This is my second Lexus. Have a 2003 Rx300. No one can build like Lexus. The GS 300 I purchased is a great vehicle. Looks (flint mica with black leather) are striking ... getting lots of compliments. Its ride and comfort are first class. Build quality is superior. At the end of the workday it is like my decompression chamber as I head home. Price vs. features is hard to beat.
Retirement Gift!
I test drove most of the sedans priced between 45 and 50K. To me, the Lexus GS 300 drove the smoothest. I was impressed with its acceleration, fuel economy, ride and the responsive steering. My GS 300 is loaded. Something I did not plan on... but am totally satisfied with it.
GREAT CAR
I had this car a little over a year, it's a great car quality, driving & performance
GS 300
Have had 8 Lexus models but this is the very best we have had. The GS 300 is outstanding in all areas and especially in fuel mileage.
Smoooth operator
Smoooth best describes the GS 300 AWD. Have owned a number of mid-sized sedans including BMW 5 series, and Audi A6 2.7t, the Lexus is considerably quieter with a smoother ride, but gives up a bit of ultimate handling if you like to shave a 10th of a second off your time turning into the local shopping center. On the highway, it's hard to beat with a natural (and potentially ticket collecting) cruising speed of 75 to 80 mph while returning 26 mpg. Overall, if you are not driving at 10/10ths all the time, it's a great compromise between ride and handling, not to mention Lexus reliability and build quality.
Great Car
I had stuggled between the Acura RL and the Lexus GS. I have had the car for about 3 weeks and I really love it. The ride in the GS is very smooth and quite peppy. Simply put, the GS is classy. So if you are looking for a refined car that is great on gas and has a nice ride this is it. I leased my car and in 3 years who knows what will be out there.
2006 GS300 AWD
the car had two major flaws : low headroom . I am only 5'9" and my head almost scrapes the roof . The second flaw it the run flat tires . They do not take any abuse . They puncture easily and are very expensive. The dealer was not very clear about the option to put regular tires on the car .
Love this ride
My lease came due on my BMW and I shopped for about 2 months and test drove a ton of vehicles. I fell in love with the GS. It is no BMW in regards to driving capabilities but I am not into driving this car like I am at Daytona. The ride is great. The car sticks to the ground. Steering and handling is superb. The Mark Levinson sound is awesome and I am a huge audiophile. It's the best that I have heard. Reliability is great. Overall I am thoroughly impressed by this vehicle. Coming from owning BMWs, I am very happy with my decision.
Fantastic Vehicle
This vehicle is pure joy to drive. It is very quiet, handles very well on the open road. Recently took a 1000 mile road trip and averaged approx 32 mpg.
Great car
The best touring car yet. Smooth is an understatement. Well built.
Fuel Economy w/ luxury ride
After 8 months I am still amazed by the difference in quality between my last vehicle MB S430 and my Lexus GS 300. The Lexus is built to last not make monthly trips to the dealer and the build quality is superb. Last week took a 1600 mile trip and averaged 31 MPG!!!! Yes, 31! Quiet, smooth ride. I've had two MB, a Lincoln Navigator, Infiniti G35 Coupe and the LEXUS IS THE BEST!
Making an old trip New.
When I purchased the first 4wd Sedan in Florida every one said I was wasting my money. On the trip back to New York we hit a hail storm outside Tallahassee. Trucks had overturned but the little Lexus held the road like there were magnets in the tires. It truly exceeded my expectations. Quieter and peppier than expected for a 6 cylinder. It got on the Turnpike and passed trucks with ease. No complaints on performance or dealer contact (the best in my 50 years of driving luxury cars). On the down side the trunk is too small for all the luggage my wife and I take on a vacation, the fold down auxillary access to controls cannot be used when driving and the GPS sometimes gives bizarre directions.
Unbelievable Ride
I wasn't really looking for a Lexus. I happened to be driving by the Lexus dealership and test drove the GS and was amazed. Great handling and smooth acceleration. I went back the next morning and purchased it. I love the color Quartz shadow Metallic. Loving it ever since.
Batmobile
I have waited for a car like the GS for many years. I love the LS but it has always been a little too big and reminds me of an old man/womans car. The old style GS was close to the right size, but I never liked the styling. The 2006 GS has it all great styling, great engineering and comfort. The V6 is quick and at the same time gives the owner great gas mileage. It is well equipped, even the "base" car has all of the luxury item that one would expect. When I am in the cockpit I feel like I could go to the moon! WHAT A CAR!
Big Guy's Car
Everything about it is absolutely great except for one thing. It's really hard for a big guy to get in and out of and there's not enough headroom. It's worth it though!
Driven to perfection
The GS300 has plenty of great features, but the user interface to those features is horrific. If pushing 4 buttons and messing with the touch screen is your idea of how to mange the heater, then you will love this vehicle. I do not want a vehicle which is constantly drawing my eyes from the road, and causing distraction.
The BEST Lexus EVER!
I really researched everything out there before I bought this time. It's so quiet I can hardly tell it's running. The gas mileage I'm getting is even better than expected.
GS 300
I absolutely love my GS. It is smooth, sexy, and relatively powerful. This one is a winner.
Excellent Car, Outstanding MPG
I bought this car as a CPO in October 2007. I traded a 2002 BMW 745Li. This car does not drive like the BMW and lacks some amenities, but all in all, it's a great value. In my driving thus far, I average 27 MPG city and 38 MPG on long trips. With that kind of mileage, who needs a hybrid. This is an excellent car for the $$$.
GS Ride
The new GS is an excellent machine... the ride is very firm, and solid and feels like a SPORT luxury car should. Still breaking in my car (less than 400 miles) so I cannot comment on the aggressive performance and handling yet, but this car has a silky smooth transmision, and good visibility. I have read about the "tight" drivers seat, but I am 6'2" and have no issues with getting a very comfortable driving position. Plenty of room for me. Expect a lot of smiles and looks while driving this car!
An Amazing piece of artwork
Reading some of the reviews on here makes me wonder if some of these are real or not. This is an amazing car. I've owned many cars and this is by far the best quality vehicle that I ever witnessed. Absolutely perfect in every way. I've owned cars that were double the price and this is a better car. I am 6' 4" tall and can fit in this car better than my previous full sized SUV. My head rubbed the roofline in my SUV, doesn't even come close in my GS.
Dream Car!
Great options, nice styling inside and out. Awesome sound system, comfortable ride. Outstanding interior design - aesthetically pleasing. Comfortable, yet fast enough, gas mileage almost like a 4 cylinder Camry. Build with materials of high quality. Bought certified used - peace of mind!
Sweet wheels
Great car: elegant and refined styling, super amenities combined with real road muscle, fast off the start power, great gear shift ratios, excellent handling. The Bluetooth-enabled hands-free phone could be improved (won't load your telephone book) and the rear view mirrors that tip down during backup are just plain annoying. Other than that, absolutely no complaints - very happy with the quality.
GS 300 AWD
Actual hwy mileage hit 28.8 consistently and at times hit 30.0 mpg. Handled exceptionally well in the snow with no effort. Very impressed with overall driving experience. Previously owned 1999 GS 300. 2006 AWD just took it to the next level.
Joyride!
This is an awesome car. It is so much fun to drive that I volunteer to go grocery shopping. We wanted to get the RWD, but got the AWD because we wanted a specific color that is not easily available. The slight drop in the fuel efficiency bothers me, but I forget all about it when I start the car.
LOVE THIS CAR
This car is unbelievable. They really did a great job. It has so many tech things to operate. Very quick in the 6 speed manual mode. The interior lights need to be brighter. So far so good. We have only had the car for three weeks.
Lexus GS 300 AWD
I like the Lexus feel and have driven the ES 300. This car is that and better. the engine while not a rocket is silky and forceful when needed. I get about 23-24 MPG. I love the Lexus interior and this is no different. The redesigned exterior is quite sleek to me. Terrific handling, hit my favorite curves with ease. The keyless entry is great; just grab the door handle and it unlocks.
Smart Car
As with any Lexus, the cars are made to last. However, the Lexus GS 300 is the smartest car on the market. It can fly down the highway and it is easy to drive. The car can tame the road with its impressive power. It is quiet, comfortable and the best deal on any luxury car.
After 4 Years - Drives like new
I've owned this machine for almost 4 years now. The ride is still crisp and the pickup is still strong. Had to get the dash rattles fixed under warranty. This car is a delight to drive and makes my wife mad because I always want to take it out.
Lexus Does It Again-GS 300 AWD Rolls!
I have been looking for an AWD sedan that fits my needs and especially my desires - I wanted an automobile that has it all. Lexus once again gave it to me with room to spare.
The best of the best
This car is awesome and it handles so gently yet still very powerful and has a lot of standard features. The all wheel drive handles great in a lot of snow something that i need in the windy city and the fuel econmy is great. Lexus really did it up with the third generation GS.
Great car, but not perfect
Really nice car. Ride is a little too firm for me. Handling is very good. Direct injection engine is very good, but 'ticks' at idle. Interior is tight. Center console is too tall and wide, making interior feel cramped. Misc. control door near driver's left knee is very inconvenient. Highway gas mileage is excellent - 29 to 32 MPG. Avalon is probably a better value.
First time but not the last
Graduating from an Infiniti J30 and an Audi A4, this car tops them all, clearly superior in comfort, dependability and class. In addition to a comfort upgrade, it has features the others omitted. The interface of the control panel takes some adjusting to but allows one into the 21st century. You have to check to see if it is running as the engine purrs flawlessly. It handles superbly allowing you a genuine feel of the road.
Researched them all, bought the best
Before buying the GS 300, I researched every other competitor, save the Mercedes. They all had their redeeming qualities, but the Lexus had the best combination of all of them - style, creature comforts, build quality/reputation, and pure driving pleasure. I kid you not - I LOVE this car. I previously had a 1999 Porsche 911 Cabriolet, and thought I loved that - I'm sorry Porsche, but our love affair is over. The Lexus emotes luxury - from the welcoming lighting, to the softness and comfortability of the seats.
2006 Lexus GS 300
The dumbest things ever done to a car - hide most of the adjustment. You can only reach it by opening a box or using a touch screen. This makes a lot of inconveniences you won't find in a 2005 or earlier model.
Best Luxury Sedan
I had this car for a couple of months and I love it. I actually test drove several vehicles, Infiniti, Acura, and Audi to compare from several perspectives and chose the Lexus GS 300 AWD. I had the dealership change the tires to 18" Michelin Pilot® Sport A/S tires in place of the Goodyear run flat tires and what a difference in ride and handling. This car is fully loaded and the Mark Levinson 14 speaker Audio system is great. I am completely satisfied with this car. This car is an eye-catcher and it delivers on demand.
sporty luxury
fun to drive with the optional standard feature & extremely easy to handle! great feel of control on the road and yet smooth and quiet. sporty luxury!
Best of the AWD cars
Bought car in Feb. 05 - took all other AWD cars for test runs (several times) -- Audi a6, Infiniti M, Acura RL-- there was no comparison in comfort and handling. May not have the power of the M or RL but there is plenty there. had previously owned an A6 - good car but nothing like the GS 300. Articles say not a fun car to drive? Can't believe this -- maybe because its so quiet - but this car handles great on a country roads plus it's stylish.
Matador Red....G Spiders....Run Flats
99 GS 300 owner no more. Lexus nailed it with this one. Corners very well, no give or roll during high speed cornering. Run flats did not interest me, but I liked the look and drive of the car, sprung for the 5 year tire road hazard for $385. Car has 900 miles on it, already had a flat. Tire was not defective, so the $385 warranty already paid for itself ($381 to replace/mount the tire). Overall a great car, Lexus service and quality has always impressed me. Compared to my 99, the 06 mpg is impressive. seeing a 4mpg improvement. The G Spiders make this car.We get many WOWS when showing it off. also, RWD has spare tire std since run flats are an option (AWD has std run flats).
Nice ride
Great touring sedan. The 300 is slightly underpowered compaerd to the 2002 BMW 525i that I traded in, but is a lot more comfortable, with intuitive controls and actually has real cupholders.
Amazing... leaves you speechless
This car is amazing. Besides its sleek design, in and out, it has great handling capabilities and drives as smooth as glass. This car is amazing compared to its price. It is totally worth considering. I think the '06 GS is the best in its class. I just got one and I couldn't be any happier.
Love my GS 300
This is my fifth Lexus and by far the best of the best. Comfortable luxury with a sports car feel. I would recommend it to anyone.
2006 Lexus GS-300AWD
This is one outstandingly built automobile. The overall quality, fit, finish and ride are wonderful. Acceleration is certainly more than adequate, and the gas milage has been a nice surprise at about 26mpg. Handles extremely well. Everything works as it should, and not a rattle or squeak to be found. It simply does not get much better than this car!
Great Car
I have owned many cars over the years. Porsche, BMW from sedans to sports cars. The redesigned all new Lexus GS 300 AWD is about as good as it gets. Quality is first rate... driving is fun and the six cylinder engine is smooth and responsive. Yes, I would have preferred a few more horses under the hood. The gas mileage is supprisingly good.. so far pretty much as advertised around 28 on the highway and 19-20's city. I get a lot of the WOW FACTOR! Nice Car... SWEET!
It's it and that's that!
I set out to buy a Jaguar, then checked the BMW 530i, and out of curiosity, checked the new GS 300 (just to be sure). The interior is magnificent, full of tremendously useful features within a luxurious cabin. The exterior is sleek and refined. But I have to say this car is confused -- it doesn't know if it's a sports car or a luxury sedan -- it does BOTH beautifully! It's tight and agile on corners, accelerates with authority, but is as quiet as a library. I chose the AWD due to the possibility of having to move back to snow territory -- I know it'll be perfect! Before you buy any other car, take this baby for a ride!
