Love my 1999 Lexus gs300
Bought this car used in 2008 with 42,000 miles on it. Changed the timing belt at 90,000 miles and replaced a couple of exterior light bulbs. Thats's it. Just routine maintenance beyond that; oil changes, oil filter, etc. The car is very comfortable for long trips. Acceleration is good. Audio system is good. Nice body styling. I don't have a single complaint about this car. One of the best that I have ever owned. I also owned a 1990 Lexus ls-400 and now own a 2000 Lexus LX-470. Each of them have been great, reliable vehicles. UPDATED 11/5/2016 Still love this car. Replaced the starter, but other than that, it just keeps on going.

Love this car!
This is the second GS 300 I have had, and it only gets better. I love driving the car, it has lots of performance, a nice ride, and it looks great.

Lexus GS300
This is my second Lexus and I have been very happy with it. I am adding this review because I couldn't stand seeing it only at a 5! My car is reliable, fun to drive, and a head turner. I will definitely be buying my next car from the Lexus family.
Nice commuting car
In the past three years I've put about 75000 miles on the car. Basic service but no real repairs needed yet. Excellent highway commuting car. The V- 6 has plenty of power with respect to the handling characteristics of the car. The car gets sort of soft when pushed hard. If you live in areas where snow occurs you WILL need winter tires. A very comfortable car to drive. Driver fatigue minimal. This car has grown on me over time and I continue to be more impressed.
A love hate relationship
Bought it new and have had a love hate relationship since. Overall quality is very good, but performance stinks. Sporadic shifting pattern, especially after slowing and making 90 degree turn, then accelerating again will drive you nuts. Also, shifting pattern in stop and go urban traffic will drive you even nuttier. computer and ESC don't have a clue how to respond. Recall/upgrade of ESC was done in 1999, but really didn't fix the problem. Dealer acknowledges this as an engineering problem typical to the car - big, unforgivable mistake for a car in this price range
