Old fella with a young persons car
Most comfortable, best driving machine I have ever owned and I traded a much higher priced SUV for this small gem. I get a lot more gas milage than what was advertised and it corners much better than the Acura I traded for it and its much quieter.

Dangerous shift pattern
My vehicle has significant issues at around 1200 rps at around 40 mph especially on inclines. There is a prominent vibration and a hesitation in responding to accelerator pressure. It happens at various rpms and speeds but most consistently in this range. It eventually downshifts to 2000+ rpms and vibrations stop. AND at 2000 rpms at 70 mpg it vibrates and does not respond to acceleration. It does not downshift to raise the rpms and stop vibrations and speed up. I have reported this to the dealership and to KIA. I drove a similar 2019 Sportage and it appeared to have the same issues though we did not take it for an extended drive.

Old guy loving this younger folks car
Here is an update on my 2019 Sportage: This car is something special, quite, holds fast to the road, rides better than the Acura I traded for it. It also gets 26mpg in town and 37 on the road and the turbo provides more power that I can ever use. My brother in-law has an Avalon and swears my Sportage is more comfortable and quieter than his car.

Second Sportage 2019
I had a 2017 LX AWD and when my lease was up opted for the 2019 LX AWD. I just recently returned from a 3,000 mile trip. I averaged 29mpg. The car ran flawlessly and was very comfortable considering the length of the trip.

A Go Getter
This car is fantastic it is the best car I have ever owned. I went for the AWD Turbo for the first car I have had with all the bells and whistles. I am totally impressed with my Sportage rides great lots of power milage to. Me is average, I love the electronic helps in the car all the warning items are good I am retired and can use all the help I can get. So far the car is great just exactly what I needed. I would definitely recommend the car for anyone looking for a great smaller SUV.

Great suv
Had a Honda CRV and bought my Kia Sportage Lx AWD JUST GOT back from trip And averaged 29.3 MPG very quiet and comfortable I love this car and got at vey good price
Wow talk about fun
This car has tons of leg room. I drive Uber part-time and people are blowen away with the leg room and quality of the inside. Around town in Tucson I get 24 mpg and hey I get 32 with the turbo engine. I have the SX and love that trime package. Love the air cooled seats and the AC well blow you out of the car. Lol. It gets 110 outside but my Sportage keeps me nice and cool. the only complaint I have is on the steering wheel. Volume control when you turn it up or down goes mute sometimes because I push it a little to hard on the button. Happy camper here.

ROAD & WIND NOISE IS HORRIBLE.
2019 SPORTAGE $36,729 remote start, auto ajusting rear view mirror, cargo cover. We do care amout iles per gallon, work, store, home is the best way to save gas, home is amazing you will being in it. the road & wind noise is horrible, everyone that rides in it coments on it. uvo speaker phone or new iphone max, either way callers notice the road noise. Everything else is awesome, but for a migraine suffer or after a long 8-10 hour work day, it sucks. Bought it sept 2019 it only has 4800 miles, plastic on the seats yet, trying it on for a luxury suv with quiet ride, our 2016 serento sxl v6 had a good amount of road noise but not this bad.

Dying of heat in VA
My air conditioner has gone out 4 times! First time was under warranty. I’ve had no air this summer 7 weeks. Heat index in the 100’s. Trouble with the dealership and Kia Consumer. After nearly $3,000, I still have no air and I’m fighting with them to pay for this repair. But it could be several weeks out to get parts!😡

Car stopped in highway
I bought 2019 Sportage SX turbo last December. yesterday, I was travel in Boston and way back to home, over 100 miles away from my home. My car was stop in highway and engine light came up and I couldn't move so I called Kia road assistance and they said it would take up to 90 mins but nobody came up so i just called the police and they call third party tow company to tow my Sportage. Now my car is in dealership. I will never buy Kia.

The painting process and luster is inferior
I hate the paint on this car. Manufacturer cut core nerd while painting the car. They paint the car with the doors on. Also the color is very dull. Car also came from the factory with a loose line underneath the the rear passenger side wheel that was not routed and clipped properly.
Want to loose 44% of the value within 11 months?
We bought a fully loaded 2019 Kia Sportage from Kia of Abilene in Dec. 2018 for just over $32K. Four months later when we took it up with the service department, we were informed that there is a "software update" for the GPS (ours was not doing great with directions) and that we would have to purchase the new software, and IF I remember correctly, the price was somewhere in the $300 range - FOR A VEHICLE which was still basically brand new!!! Come Nov. 2019, I took it in for a service and got talking to one of the salesmen. The Sales Manager offered us $18K-$20 for our vehicle with 7300 miles on it - thus still NEW!! That means this vehicle dropped in value from $32,000 to $18,000 in 11 months!! 11 Months later, it was worth $14,000 LESS. That is horrific - and I would not suggest ANYONE buy a Kia Sportage -= UNLESS you have a lot of money to WASTE on a vehicle that has a noisy interior, where they sell you a vehicle with outdated GPS software and then expect you to fork out $300+ for the "updated software". What bothers me the MOST is the loss in VALUE - 44% in 11 months - thus the dealership proved to me that the Kia Sportage is OVER-PRICED from the word go! I would NOT even recommend it to someone I do not even like! It is NOT economical (we went from an all wheel drive to a 2 wheel drive) be3cause the AllWheel was heavy on gas, but the 2 wheel version does not do much better - 26-28 miles per gallon highway!

AC Failed at 10,500 miles
AC compressor failed at 10,500 miles on a 2019 model. Seems to be a common problem with the Sportage. Not a happy camper.

smooth and reliable
The car is very comfortable. We drove it from Boston to Wyoming and back - it was great for the trip. We've not yet had a single issue with the car, which is one reason why we went with Kia - the quality, reliability and the warranty. It drives very smoothly with great handling and plenty of power. One downside is that I wish it had a bit more trunk space. We got the panoramic sunroof with ours, which is spectacular. Very happy overall.

I would do it again!
My Kia Sportage is an awesome car. Not only is it a nice looking car, it runs perfectly. It does what I want it to when I want it to. It has been all over this country and it just doesn’t quit. It is comfortable and easy to operate. I have never had a minutes worth of trouble. I would recommend a Kia to everyone. My first Kia was a Soul which I really liked, but I needed something bigger. I love my Sportage! I would absolutely do it again!
Great compact SUV
Fun to drive. Three engine operating setting for responsiveness and gas mpg: ECO, Normal, Sport. Comfortable seats. Not the worst in rear seat comfort. Great dashboard/media/info screens. Nice sound sound system. No major repairs needed in first 3 1/2 years/24k miles. Dislikes are the suspension that rides a little too rough, and worse in sub-freezing weather. Have had two major interior water floods as apparently this model has a problem with a/c runoff tube clogging. Also, garage constantly has a small lake of water to rear of back passenger tire. Dealer service dept. says it’s “probably” some normal engine moisture runoff.

Problems denied by KIA
My KIA hesitates from dead stop, trying to accelerate. Take it to Kia O'Fallon, IL. and they deny any problem. How convenient. Then they try to sell you crap you don't even need. Car is 4 years old and still hesitates acceleration. Won't buy another KIA because they refuse it fix it. Warranty?????

Good value but too many corners that were cut
The 2019 Kia Sportage is a good value but not a great car. I have the turbocharged model with all bells and whistles except without all wheel drive. If I had it to do over I would get the all wheel drive because with the turbocharged model, there is too much front wheel spin. The the panoramic sunroof is annoying in every respect. I would much prefer a smaller, more traditional sunroof. The premium Harman Kardon audio system is mediocre at best. It is inferior to the base audio systems I’ve experienced in lots of other cars. The brake feel and response is awful. Sometimes when I start off in the morning, the slightest touch of the brake pedal causes the car to halt so abruptly that anything on the seat next to me ends up in the floor. It is not possible to bring the car to a full stop without there being a little jerk at the end. My suspicion is that even though the brake is evidently hydraulic, that the power assist is likely under digital control. I suspect this because the behavior is very much like a poorly implemented digital control system, with digital filtering that is done very poorly. The turbo lag is excessive. There is also excessive lag in the transmission, with manual upshifting. The net effect is that you have to initiate the upshift before the turbo has spun up to where the engine has come alive. If you don’t shift before the turbo has spun up, the shift will come too late and the engine will rev too high, past the point of peak performance. Engine performance is not consistent. It varies appreciably over the course of a single day, from hour to hour. If you sit at a traffic light for a couple minutes on a hot day, it doesn’t want to pull away. I suspect that there are several inter-related reasons, one of which is likely that the intercooler becomes saturated with heat. This seems to be a poor design, but I haven’t looked at it closely enough to confirm that this is what is happening. But I’m pretty sure it is anyway. The seat has an annoying little side-to-side jolt every time you go around the corner. I recall experiencing this in a Sportage that I test drove several years earlier. The Sportage is the only car I’ve ever driven where I experienced this. In the winter, the heated air in the footwell blows mostly on my lower shins, leaving my feat so cold that the expression “freezing cold”, while not literally true, is fitting. This is one reason why I hate driving it on a cold morning. On the other hand, the AC works great in the summer. The GPS is poorly implemented. Any kind of searching it is asked to do takes forever. Other GPS systems I’ve used have smart algorithms that quicken the searching and even disable select characters from the keyboard when, if you were to type that key for the next character of the street name, the street name would not match the street name in the database. In order to do this, the GPS obviously needs to know the city and state first. The GPS system in the Kia Sportage doesn’t have any such clever tricks. So what’s good it? The steering is tighter and more responsive than you’d expect in a vehicle like this, more like a sports car. No issues with the steering or the front suspension. Some people find the seats too firm, but they’re okay for me. I also think the ergonomics are excellent. The engine compartment is laid out in a way that you can easily see all the stuff you need to pay attention too. They did a particularly good job there, although I’d rather that the air duct feeding air into the air box wasn’t directly on top of the battery. I’ve mostly mentioned the annoyances, because its the annoyances that ultimately determine whether or not the owner will like the vehicle over the long haul.
