2024 Kia Sorento X-Pro Transfer Case Issue
Bought a new 2024 Kia Sorento X-PRO (Canada) in July 2024. After about 1000kms, I noticed a noise when I reversed the vehicle and applied power. The noise was like dragging gravel. The dealership did not know what the issue was initially. They found the transfer case fluid was low, and that it contained "sparkles", or tiny pieces of metal. They now have to replace the whole transfer case.

After owning a 2019 lexus F sport, never thought a Sorento could compete the lexus! Boy, my wife and I were totally taken by surprise! What a supper nice riding and easy access to all navigation and driving settings.

Very happy owner
Bought the SX Prestige model and am very pleased - feels luxurious, has good performance and is perfect size/utility for my family of four (2 teenagers). My only gripe is that the turbo engine has to be pushed hard off the line, but otherwise performs great. Still early in its life, but very happy so far

Kia Sorrento SX
I love my new car! I am 5’0 so it’s hard for me to get good visibility in SUVs but this car is easy to see and very easy to drive. I especially love the captains chairs and my third row for my kids or their friends. Adults fit comfortably in the third row as well as long as the captains chairs are moved up a little.

Good overall but has some weird hiccups
overall we really like the car and it has been well worth it. What we don't like are the small things where we have to restart the car to get something to turn off. it is almost like a glitch with the technology from time to time.
What happened??
I have the X-Line EX with FWD. This is my 4th Sorento. It started out bad…. Within an hour of buying it the check engine light came on. Did the usual, checked gas cap and it stayed on. Called to get appt. but nothing available for 3 weeks, they said unless the light is flashing it’s no big deal. The next day tire goes flat. The following day windshield cracks. I think this thing has a curse on it. It needed a fuel sensor. Fixed it. Driving to vacation it loses power, feels like it shifted into neutral. Dealer says can’t find anything wrong. When I start the car (car in Park, Parking brake on and foot not on gas pedal) it feels like it lurches forward, car actually rocks. When I proceed to put it in drive and start out slowly it feels like it’s chugging along, not a smooth glide. I’m truly confounded by all of these issues. When it’s cold outside ALL guages light up and infotainment system won’t work. Any time it rains or is cold the Driver Assist quits and the parking sensors quit. Rear view camera is always foggy even if I wipe it off every time I get into the car. I drive in the Economy setting. Horrendous gas mileage. I’m sick of buying gas all the time….. my last Sorento would sometimes get 42 mpg, this one varies between 17 and 23. I’m OVER this car. It’s a beautiful car but too many issues. I see there’s a recall, hopefully it’ll fix the mileage.
Hold On!
First off, I am sold on Kia. I've owned 3 of them, " telluride", "Sportage", and now a "Sorento". My 2023 Sorento is a pleasure to ride in and a THRILL to drive. I chose to go with the turbo version and I have to tell you, this thing will pin you to your seat if you nail it. That is not the only reason but was certainly a SUPER Strong point to purchase. I bought the SX Prestige model in wolf gray and black. I've already had many compliments on this car. The interior is luxurious and the ride is sweet. But the performance is OUTSTANDING! But that's not all, It comes with a leading industry warranty. You won't be disappointed

It was the right choice for me
It’s a rocket once you learn how to use the transmission stable ride, quiet ,handles Better than a grand Cherokee. Have taken it on quite a few long trips and it’s easy to spend the whole day in it. Visibility is excellent. Needs more padding on the touch points for your elbows 1/2 inch of foam can’t be that much more expensive than 1/4 inch. Plastic trim on the car appears to be clear coated because it is not scratching after many washes. outside door pillars are Getting spiderweb swirls
Enjoyable vehicle, but a few oddities...
Overall I am pleased with the 24 Sorento. The exterior is very modern/sporty. I have 10K miles on the vehicle so I have had time to evaluate. This is my first Kia - I feel they made a good vehicle but a few things keep it from being a great vehicle. Pros: Roomy cabin. I'm 6 ft. and do not feel cramped in front or back seats. (have not used 3rd row) Seats are comfortable Display and rear camera are exceptional handling is firm and responsive Peppy engine - smooth transition, quick acceleration I have only hand washed the vehicle, but the paint and finish seems to be above average A lot of helpful safety features Great warranty Cons: speakers/sound are only average. expected more driver assist warnings are annoying - no way to disable key fob is huge and bulky. button layout is a head scratcher (c'mon Kia) unable to use the inside door lock button- this is how it was designed, why even have a button lack of storage compartments in cabin A Lot of Wind noise on Freeway - cabin not sealed tightly Remote start range is weak and unreliable No way to visually see if vehicle actually started no running lights lit to indicate. Was NOT impressed with vehicle first time in snow if I could turn back time, would I buy this vehicle again....Probably. I really like it but don't love it. I was considering it's sister the Santa Fe - 2023 (2024 remodel of Santa Fe is bad).

Good choice for an economy vehicle
Don't mistake the Sorento for a luxury SUV. In the economy class it stands alone as one of the few small SUV's with a 3rd row. The car looks nice from the outside. The car looks OK from the inside. The touch screen display is GOOD too. But the fake leather seats seem to really hold heat. There's no seat cooling on the X line, i'm not sure about the others. Only some of the seats are electronic. The tires were excellent. But other than that NOTHING was excellent about the vehicle. There's MANY reports of vibration on the highway. I felt it at anything over 40mph. The ride was also literally NAUSEATING around neighborhood roads. I really wanted to like the car, it looks good and the price was good but loved absolutely nothing about it.

Pain in the posterior!
I bought this thing 3 months ago, and will be diving out of it as soon as the '25s in Mazda, Honda, and Subaru are in to see and try. (No Toyotas; my local dealer is too shady.) I'll take a bath on its resale value, but, I want to take a trip cross-country and both my patience and my posterior will not take the punishment. First off, the seats are a complete pain in the [behind]. I am a big man. Tall, broad shoulders... think human grizzly bear. I also have very little padding in my posterior, so a seat needs to be comfortable. The Kia seats have what feels like a bar or something at the rear of the bottom cushion that is really noticeable. I recently drove from my town over to Knoxville, about a 250 mile round trip. I hurt so bad the next morning I was limping and needed my cane, which is rare. This seems to be something in Kia and Hyundai seating, as it is noticeable in other models. My brother complains of the same thing in his Santa Cruz, and I felt it in the seating in a '24 Hyundai Santa Fe. Another issue is the infotainment. The '23 and before systems were agonizingly slow to respond to input. The new one is snappy enough but the interface is one that fights you every step of the way, and you really can't configure it how you want it. Unlike Subaru with straightforward menus for setting up various vehicle options (lights on with wipers for example), Kia uses these ottsie-cutsie graphics with no really intuitive way of finding things. The instruction books that come with the car are more filled with lawyer-resistant disclaimers than with any useful information. Oh, and, how about a conventional speedo and tach that is just that, without any pretty-color nonsense and other distractions. One of the four settings yields what looks like conventional round gages but they are "enhanced" with what the designer thought would look whiz-bang. As for how it drives: it goes like it's been shot out of a cannon while maintaining what I consider to be good fuel economy. The engine noise can be intrusive when you "climb on it" but at cruise it's quiet. I already am feeling some oddities in the transmission at 1,400 miles (oh dear!) but generally it shifts competently and far more smoothly than I expected out of a dual clutch transmission. Based on comfort or the lack of it, the dodgy transmission, and the still-horrible user interface, I suggest one look at other makes and models before deciding. I'm very sorry I bought this thing, and likely will be going back to Subaru. My Ascent may have nanny-ed me to death with the driver monitor but it was more comfortable, more competent, and far easier to work with. (I now know how to defeat the nanny-cam system).

LOVE MY CAR
Roomy, smooth drive, excellent gas mileage and NICE looking! First rate safety features.
Quick! Comfortable!
Fantastic SUV. The captains chairs are an amazing addition as it makes the 3rd more than an after thought. Much bigger on the inside than looks on the outside. The safety and technology is high end even on the lower trims. Absolutely thrilled!

NOT HAPPY
If you live in area where there squirrels etc. don't buy this car. had it for less than two weeks and suspect it was a squirrel did $7-8 k damage under the hood mainly main engine wiring harness. Soya oil based plastics. Kia does not have parts for these vehicles.
2024 Kia Sorento X-Line SX Prestige Pro 2.5l turbo
1. Lots of tech ...need to learn it 2. I'm a V-6 V-8 naturally aspirated engine guy but was impressed by the 2.5 turbo take for ride and see yourself 3. its has lots of room nice interior and is quiet low to no wind rode noise even with the rugged tires 4. 87 gas and still enough power and good gas mileage 5. price was very fair compared to others 6. If you want the gas version the interior ambient lighting is option only at dealership So far I'm happy with purchase just need to learn coming from Honda and Ford but rides just as good.

It's a winner
i have owned the 2023 sorento for two weeks now and i am happy with my purchase i like that it came with turbo i have a 2011 sportage that is turbo and it has zip when needed we have been a Kia owners for years and have never been disappointed i believe they listen to their customers and continue to upgrade the interior is nicer than its ever been i was disappointed that i am forced to have third row seating not something i need prefer bench seating for 2nd row more convenient for my needs and needed the extra cargo space one thing that is a pet peeve of mine are the headlights on vehicles these are the best i have ever used gave four stars because of lack of choice for seating configurations

Hate this car
The seating is uncomfortable. Arm rests are too low. Steering doesn't come out enough, have to reach forward to steer. The blower for the face is automatically on auto and you cannot set it to a temperature you like. It changes itself to match the temperature of the car so I actually get cold! The auto start is a joke. Again, auto on 72. Doesn't defrost the windows. The heated seats don't turn on. After running for a while, the car is cold when I enter it! The annoying beep when I am simply just walking a few feet to grab my Starbucks drink off the counter. It can beep to let me know the car is on but why does it have to be so loud, annoying and embarrassing? *Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* And if the car is running, you cannot unlock any door from the outside except the driver's door. I can go on and on. This car is just plain annoying. Wish I never got it

Love the Sorento
In 2021 I had test driven the then-new current Sorento, both the S with the base engine and the X-line Prestige with the turbo. I was impressed with the handling of both, and felt the base engine was adequate, and rode a bit smoother that the X-line. For context, I was driving a 3 series BMW at the time, and this car did not feel forbiddingly inferior. Due to the shortages and price inflating at the time, I ended up leasing a Ford Edge but the Sorento was day-and-night superior. Fast forward to 2024, I lease a Sorento X-line Prestige. This car feels premium inside, and sporty with its turbo. It actually feels so good driving it. I think some Genesis has trickled down to this Kia. Safety features are amazing. Great fuel economy. Having driven both base and top line models, I don't think you could go wrong with any current Sorento.

Came with defective shocks
But other than that, I like it.
Great SUV
I really like my Sorento. I do wish it had a more powerful engine, seems gutless at times. Overall, a really nice vehicle.

So far so good. Have only had for 5 days. Has great ride and pick-up. Many features, have not had time to explore yet. Have gotten many second glances on the appearance of vehicle.

Nice spacious car
I love my vehicle it was in great shape the miles were super low only problem I had was one hub cap was different from the others but the car is wonderful
Sorento? More like Swolrento!
I have had this car for a year now and I love it. It looks sporty but functions well as a mom car in terms of space and safety. Its smart features have saved me from and accident or two, they seem annoying and bossy at first, but it's a small price to pay for safety. The cabin is well designed, the third row seating is pretty compact, but what do you expect, right? Even with a toddler spilling God-knows what all over the back seats, it is still easy to clean up. Don't let the mom car features fool you, when you want to speed up, it GOES. 300 HP rocks. The only thing I don't like about it is the proximity alarm when you're in a drive thru, like bro, I KNOW I'm close to the wall, my arms are short, ffs.
