Transmission Issue on X-Line
I was looking forward to this new model. Purchased the X-Line and enjoyed the car for a couple months. At 2700 miles (3 months of ownership) the transmission went out. Like others - the vehicle is on week 5 of sitting at the dealer waiting for parts to arrive so that the transmission can be fixed. Very disappointed.
Needs new transmission at 6 months in .. LEMON LAW
I traded in my Audi for the 2021 Kia Sorento SX in January of 2021. I was so impressed with this car when I first got it. Fast foward to July 5 2021, I turn my vehicle on to drive home and the check engine light comes on, at first I think maybe it is just a fluke...It was downpouring that night so I thought something might have triggered it. I go to drive and I notice as I am trying to accelerate my RPMs are going up but the speed is really not increasing, until it JOLTS me forward. I finally make it home and hope it was just a random event. The next day same thing happens, check engine light is on, notification comes up on my screen "possible transmission control issue" same thing happens, car is not accelerating, RPMs going up, and if I stop at a red light and the "auto on off" kicks in the car totally dies. When I am finally able to get into Kia the next day they tell me I need a new transmission.......a NEW TRANSMISSION on a brand new vehicle with only 5000 miles on it!!!!! It has now been sitting at the Kia dealership for 26 days and they have no ETA on when the new part will arrive. Stay far far away from this car!! It looks beautiful, but it is a lemon !!! I will be submitting paperwork for it to be taken in as a lemon law and get a refund to get something else, NOT A KIA !!!!!

Second Sorrento and we love it
Love our new 2021 Sorrento - the interior in our top spec model puts the competition - and many so called prestige brands - to shame. The 2.5 turbo 4 is way punchier than the V6 in the prior model and the DCT transmission shifts almost imperceptibly - I’ve not experienced any of the low speed lurching reported by some reviewers. My wife loves the size of the Sorrento and for our family of four, it’s near perfectly proportioned - we only occasionally use the third row seats, but they are handy when we do need them and roomy enough for kids and smaller adults. The second row captains chairs makes access easier than the prior model too. Only a couple of criticisms: the ride is better than the prior model, but probably still not class leading for comfort - some might find it too firm. Also, Kia made some strange equipment omissions on US cars - even on this top of the line model - most notably no memory seats and no heated rear seats.

Holding my breath
Bought a 2021 SX Prestige X Line 2 months ago now has less than 2000 miles on it. Already had a black chrome trim piece replaces by the rear drivers window and now we notice a square Inprint on the passenger side dashboard. We're told it's the airbag location. Looks terrible. Dealer sent pictures to manufacturer to see what it is and how to correct it.

Just like McDonald's... I'm lovin' it
Must order All Wheel Drive! Check out the reviews on Your Tube - too much torque for just front wheel drive. The AWD is awesome and a must have. I've owned it for about 8 weeks(1500 miles) and had a wind noise on the passenger side which was corrected with a new door seal. Fun to drive and the various drive settings make it even more comfortable or sporty depending on my mood. Must say for a top of the line X Drive it is missing the HomeLink garage door opener and the seat adjustment with coordinated mirror adjustment - they are my only disappointments. The baseball glove leather and green exterior is eye catching. MESSAGE TO KIA _ You definitely upped the brand (I also own a Telluride SX) now you have to up the BUYING and SERVICE experience. I feel like I bought Mercedes quality with the buying and service experience of a Yugo dealership. Lots of room for improvement to bring the brand up further.
