Update at 130K - Ongoing issues with recalls: Months to get into service and get the power door fixed AND the latest issue with an oil pressure switch located on the top rail, under the plenum, adjacent to the knock sensors (which get soaked in oil and also need to replaced)(3 hr labor for $20 switch). When it leaks it travels down the rail on top of the engine, drips down and mimics a rear main oil leak when mechanics have it on a rack. IT GETS BETTER...received letter saying Kia would fix it for FREE...just bring in to the dealer. BUT when you talk to dealer they have NO communication from Kia about how to diagnose or replace switch and/or treat it as a recall. Dealers were charging owners full price or some even had cars sitting in the service dept weeks waiting for Kia to tell them what to do. I called Kia Recall agents and they admitted it. Just really, really stupid. - Transmission still slips on takeoff once in while, then disappears on the next drive. Had trans mechanic look at it and can't find anything. Had 3-4 quarts drained and filled twice over the past 30k. Update at 110K - Will think twice before buying a Kia anytime in the near future. - Previously fixed (recalled) malfunctioning rear driver's side power door is hanging up again. Now the local dealership tells me it will be December (I'm calling in July) before a recall can be fixed! So I called another Kia dealer 50 miles away and it's even better. They say the car needs to be left with them so they can take a video of the problem with the door and send it to Kia so they can decide if the motor will need replacing or if they will fix it. Then I will need to make an appointment and bring it back....WTF!! - Shocked by 3+ hr estimate for just changing plugs, because the top of the engine needs to be removed along with a lot of connections that make the process complicated/tedious, just to access the rear 3 plugs. $500+ at the dealer, or $260-$300 at an independent shop. - Transmission still clunking into gear on takeoff occasionally. After a start or two it disappears. Some hits and misses after 94,000 miles: - Reasonably smooth, quiet ride with the right tires. - unimpressive gas mileage. - no service issues other than one front brake job, a battery and recall for sliding door mechanism. - Vehicle jerks slightly at startup and take-off once in a while, but dealer couldn't find anything wrong while under warranty. - Cockpit would somewhat cramped for larger drivers. - Seat position can't be rocked forward slightly to ease pressure on legs unless lowered too far. - Faster acceleration and power than most. Have only used "Top Tier" gas. Not supposed to use fuel additives per manual, but maintenance schedule calls for it. Confusing. - Screen for backup camera on LX is FAR TOO small, almost unusable on sunny days. Will not spend 5K-10K to get upgraded model just to get a better screen. Bought aftermarket one that is better quality than oem anyway. - Red instrumentation lights look cheap and are not as attractive or legible as amber, etc - Chrome trim on dash around radio is a safety hazard with a lot of glare sometimes when the sun reflects off of it - Cargo utilization is lacking with overall smaller size and unwieldy seat positioning (especially the middle row) - Borderline unattractive exterior colors - Driver's door does not stay open sometimes when exiting, especially on slight incline.

Buying this vehicle involved two af the dealer sales people, Luis Vazquez and Sam Hackett. Luis was our first contact and he showed us the vehicle but due to medical problems the next day he asked us to complete the sale with Sam. Both of these gentlemen were very professional and answered all of our questions. The sale was completed with no problems. This was a great experience in buying a newer vehicle. I would highly recommend this dealership.
