Smooth drive

I've had my Forte LXS for just over 2 months now. What a great car! It drives quiet and smooth. I really haven't driven it any long distances yet so around town my MPG is about 29. When we visit our kids out of state, we'll get some highway numbers. I'm familiar now (about time) on how to use all the safety features and how to use scroll through the cluster on the dashboard to customize my preferences. At 68 years old I was a bit concerned the technology would overwhelm me but I caught on after a while. The 147 HP is more then enough for my wife and I. We're in our 60's, both retired and in no hurry to get anywhere. But that doesn't stop me from occasionally going out for a drive and enjoying the sport mode a bit. The 4 star rating would be 5 had the car come with a spare tire and not just a tire inflator. Also it would have been nice to have an air vent and USB port in the back seat area for when we have our grandkids with us. Good looking car in the royal blue or as I call it GIANTS blue color. I'm happy with my Forte and hope it lasts me for at least 10 years or so. Again, great car!

Luxury features without the luxury price!

I am in love with this car! I won’t lie I am a Ford guy, but since Ford stopped making the Focus and the Fusion, I had to look elsewhere for a car. This forte GT line hits the sweet spot for me! MRSP was 26k (I paid 24k) and you get features like heated and cooled leather power seats. Premium sound system. Navigation based adaptive cruise control (provides semi-automated driving on highways). Loads of other safety features. The 2.0L is just fine for daily driving, I do a lot of city driving so I’m not getting as good of mpg as other reviews, but I’m still averaging 36mpg. Considering I drive 80% in the city, I’d say that’s a good mpg number. Kia has came a long way in the last decade. If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would be driving a Kia one day, I would have laughed. But you can tell they have made a real change and are leading towards a more premium level. You can feel the Genesis influences in Kia, even in their Hyundai products. My friend owns a Genesis G80, and her car doesn’t even have cooled seats. It’s amazing that my 24k car has features that even a 60k car doesn’t. If you want a fully loaded car for under 30k that you will be extremely happy with, this is the one. It rides fantastic, hits the sweet spot between comfort and sports. It has a sport feel to the suspension, but it’s soft enough to not be overly rough over bumps. Little low on HP, but you could always upgrade to the GT with the turbo if you think you need more power. This car has everything and more for a great price. Don’t be stuck in the old impressions of Kia from 10 years ago. They are worth the look.

UPDATED 03/2025: 31,000 miles later, no issues. Still in love with my GT2! I get asked often if my exhaust is stock, people are surprised when I say yes. My score remains 5 stars! ORIGINAL REVIEW 03/2024: Traded in my red 2018 S w/ tech package for a red ‘23 GT2 DCT. What a car! From the bells and whistles to that exhaust note (even when not in Sport), this is an awesome little machine. It moves when commanded and sounds so good doing it. I averaged 38.3 on the 3 and a half hour drive home while driving a mix of casual and spirited in Smart mode since it seemed to give me Eco when casual and Sport when spirited. My ‘18 had all the safety features it’s trim could have at that time; this one has those and then some. The Harmon/Kardon system is great as well. Edmunds says the cooling effect of the ventilated seat isn’t especially powerful but I personally find it great. I’m hoping for many years with this one! Give it a drive and make your own opinion if you’re considering. It’s a great get for the price. I love walking up to it from any angle everyday!

Would have to disagree with the posts about mile per gallon. What’s the Lxs My combined mileage has been 43 mile per gallon using 87 and 88 octane fuel over the last 15,000 miles on a calculator not the on read out. Mileage has also been compared to Miles driven on MapQuest and seems to be accurate. Been getting 50 to 52 mile per gallon on the highway at 65 and combined mileage has constantly been. 42 to 44 mile per gallon 2 Lane Highway driving has made noise inside the cab pretty noisy. It has been louder than my 2005 Silverado with mud tires on the same highways.

Just purchased 2023 Forte GT with G2 options, Great looking car with great looking Rims. Interior is awesome looking for a car at this price point. Car has excessive Road noise and has very stiff ride. Car has already developed an annoying squeak/rattle somewhere in center of dash and I’ve only had the car two days with less than 100k. Quite peppy engine. Great sounding exhaust. UPDATE: Car looks great in Black, lots of safety features for the money. Great acceleration with 201 HP Turbo. Great looking wheels. Awesome Harmon Kardon sound system. Only drawbacks: car has very stiff unforgiving suspension. Takes bumps like you are driving on wooden wheels. No power folding mirrors, only drivers side auto window. Hydraulic hood prop would be better than prop rod, hood is very heavy.

MY 8th KIA- 2nd Forte GT

This is my second Forte GT (2020 and 2023), I love this car. I came out of a C300 Mercedes prior to purchasing my 2020 Forte GT. My own personal experience with the C300 It was extremely problematic. Major issues with a car that had less than 30k miles. My new Forte GT with the dual clutch transmission is a hoot to drive. Plus I love the exhaust note. Before my purchase of the 23 Forte I checked out VW Jetta, Honda Civics and the Toyota Corolla. All of which are great cars. But for the value, warranty and added features you can't beat the Forte GT. The Forte GT also has more than 50 HP over the CIvic and 20HP over the Corolla. For the price of a Forte GT ($28000 with the automatic), your about $3K to $4K less than Toyota and Honda. Styling is subjective, but I do like the red highlights and LED lighting on the exterior. The Trunk is very roomy and the car seats 4 adults comfortable. I do a lot of driving, and find the drivers seating position very comfortable. The heated and vented front seats are a great feature to have. I also like the charging pad built into the console. The new infotainment screen is much larger on my 23 compared to the 2020. I wasn't a big fan of apple carplay. But it has grown on me and works well on the Forte. I just wish it was designed that it didn't need a cable attached to your phone and car for it to work. My Pros are the following: Styling, Sport mode, exhaust note ( most people think you have a aftermarket exhaust kit), Dual clutch transmission, 200 HP w/turbo, Harmon Kardon 8 Spker stereo, Runs on Regular gas, Great gas mileage-37 mpg, 10 yr warranty engine and drivetrain, 5 yr bumper to bumper, Price- depending on what GT model your looking at, there is nothing on the market that compares to it at that price point ( $25-$28K), Numerous safety features-lane assist, traffic alert, rear camera, fog lights Dislikes: I have almost 8000 miles on my Forte, and really have no real dislikes. If I were to come up with something it would be there are some blind spots when looking over to change lanes. The smaller rear accent window and the way the roof line is designed can make it difficult to see traffic on either side of you. But that is a stretch. All in all, I'm a fan of KIA products, this being my 8th one. I think KIA makes a solid car. Sure, not all my 8 KIA were problem free. But most of my issues were covered under warranty. The KIA Forte GT is a great sport sedan packed with a lot of cool features that you won't find in a Civic or Corolla.

The GT is one Feisty Forte!

Bought my 23 Forte GT 6 speed manual back in July 2022 and it’s a really impressive vehicle for the money. Paid 27k brand new and the amount of bells, whistles and safety features you get is almost overwhelming tbh. Not to mention it turns heads and changing the car into sport mode really makes it pull hard with very little turbo lag. Everytime it pushes me into the seat brings a smile to my face. The steering also feels heavier, the suspension gets firmer and the exhaust has more growl to it. It feels nicely planted taking corners. The sound system is also pretty sick. Yeah The Forte GT definitely feels like a much more expensive car than it actually is. A steal of a deal to say the least especially when you look at its direct rivals that are easily 5-8 grand more such as the Civic Si, VW GLi. Hats off to Kia. They been killing it! Don’t sleep on them if you’re in the market.

At about $26,500 (including $1500 'market adjustment'), I got a brand new, 201hp tutbo-charged, fully loaded, great-looking, fun car, that gets excellent fuel economy. I was looking for a new car with a manual transmission. There are very few cars left that are available with a manual. Most are either high-end Audis, BMW's, or Porches, or bare bones base models from Toyota and Nissan. The Kia Forte GT hits the sweet spot. Very inexpensive, but loaded with the 201hp turbo engine, power moonroof, Sytex leather interior, Apple CarPlay, heated seats, led lights inside and out, and a Harmon Kardon sound system. I did pay $700 extra for the manual transmission, but it was well worth it. It's an absolute blast to drive and I don't feel like I'm driving a cheap car. It has plenty of power, handles well, and I'm getting around 30mpg. It's very comfortable and has a lot more room than it looks like it has. I've bought more expensive new cars in the past, but the Forte GT is my favorite.

Good and bad

I have been driving Fords but they stopped making cars. So switched to a 2023 Kia Forte. I love the mpg. I average 44-55 mpg, I do drive a lot of freeways. City getting 33-35 depending on red lights. I hit a deer and car manage to have corner bumper damage. So it did well in a crash. My biggest issue with this car is road noise, Apple CarPlay don’t stay connected and radio stinks with nothing much coming out of all the speakers except for the one on the dash. I have to turn the volume up to 45 when in my ford it was 10. Forget about jamming out because you’re not going to have it sound decent. Motor runs pretty smooth and when I first drove it, it was hard not to do 80 mph. The problem with that is car isn’t stable for high speed and vibrates. It does the purpose that I need it to do but if you’re looking for a sports car this is not for you. The backseats good for small children and probably adults on short distance for comfort but it is more compact than a sedan. I purposely bought this car because of the price, the gas mileage and some of the safety features. I drive a lot in my work and go through cars every 3 to 5 years.

Picked up the car two days ago. We bought the black-on-black GT Line 1.6L turbo. Kia put in a wide variety of technology and features. My son will be the primary driver however I did drive it home. Pros- Technology, Fuel Economy, Brilliant looking, Value, and the warranty. Cons- Road noise and the ride can be rough over bumpy roads. I expected Kia to do a bit better in that aspect. The Honda Civic Sport and the next level up have the same noise and bumpy issues. Honda offers only a 3/36 warranty. If you want a better ride and less noise you are going to pay a lot more money. Overall - Highly Recommended

I love every thing about this car from they styling, gas mileage and reliability. This car doesn’t even have a single rattle or a squeak. The only thing about this car that I hate is the auto headlights. The sensor is very very sensitive and will tell you your headlights are off just going under a tree on a bright sunny day. I went to the dealership about it but there is nothing they can do to fix it. This should be an option the can be controlled by the driver where you can completely turn this option off or adjust the sensitivity.

Great Mileage with a pack of power

I am seeing majority of the reviews on here and honestly none go in depth with their answers (at least for what I know.) I commute with this car and have 6k miles on it currently, however i could have different taste than others but I would say this car is great. Everyone who is saying they are getting 42 mpg good for them but they're probably going soft and the speed limit or under. I get good boost and often go between 70-100 (some higher speeds to test.) With these speeds I range from 28-35 mpg and I put 93 in mine. I have had 93 in since the start of the first empty gallon so I'm not sure as to if this makes it slower but I don't see how it would affect worse when its cleaner for the car however I personally like to hear the whirling of the turbo, the ride is smooth and it does great for blocking outside noise. It is smaller and I wouldn't recommend unless your kids are out of a carseat as I'm 5'5 and I like my sear back further which gives little room back there however my spouse (I'm female he is male) keeps his closer but lowered so you get your own setting. It picks up speed surprisingly well, and takes turns well as it has been pressed with a gulf and over took it. (This driver could have just been bad with turns but it still goes to show it holds itself down)

I've had my 2023 Kia Forte GT-line for almost two years. It's a great compact car for the value that you get. My only issues is the handle on the car when you try to speed (65+ mph), and you have to keep pulling the wheel in the opposite direction or it'll drift. Not that much lumbar support, and the backseat is kind of small. I wish they forfeited some of the trunk space to make the back seat bigger (trunk is huge if that's important to you). Great on gas, I have to drive on the highway everyday for work so that's definitely a plus. This could be a cute 1st car for someone just starting to drive. The blind spot protection feature is a love/hate thing because the car will literally brake/stop while you're foot is on the gas and it makes this obnoxious noise, even if you have enough space to go around/pass/merge another car. Then you have to switch gears just to get the damn thing to move again smh. Even if you turn it off, the safety feature is still overrides you because of the cameras built into the car. Overall it's good car, could be better but you definitely get what you pay for being that it's affordable in comparison to other brands.

I have a 2023 Kia Forte that I bought as my friend recommended it. There is a major issue with the volume / sound on all trims of the 2023 Kia Fortes'. You have to really turn the volume knob to about 30-35 to hear sound from the speakers. I noticed others have a similar issue. The service manager at the local dealership said the issue has to be fixed by KIA by issuing a software update. There is nothing the dealership can do. That sucks. Exploring legal options. Now the voice recognition stopped working. I was told it is affecting others. Would not recommend a KIA, especially a Forte. The USB module had to be replaced as it was also acting up. Another known issue. Too many problems to deal it. Not able to enjoy the car to its fullest capability.

Purchased a KIA Forte 23 GT when our 19' Hyundai Elantra GT N-Line was wrecked. Loved that EGT but the model was discontinued. Didn't care for the poor performance of the new Kona N- Line....and knew my wife would not lijke the loud and rough ride of the Kona N.... plus the high price tag. the KIA has plenty of zip but still economical. Wife likes it because it set up a little higher than the Hyundai, giving her better vision in traffic. BTW: don't settle for Forte N-Line, its all show with no go. My opinion.

Ride Quality is its biggest weakness

The car is pretty quick, has great tech and comfortable seats. Weakness are that its small and the ride quality isnt the best. Like the ride quality is so bad that on normal drives the car can be uncomfortable to me. Im honestly considering trading it in. I'm sure the engineers didn't put any care into making sure the ride was tolerable.

2023 Kia Forte GT (G2 Package) Sporty Blue

Great vehicle, knocking out 43 miles per gallon on HWY. Quick but not that quick. Great features that rival vehicles in the 40k range. Great handling, almost a different car with the GT exterior cosmetics. The Harmon Kardon sound system does not reach the potential due to the vehicle's white noise sound coming from the engine and exhaust. You have to raise the volume to 50+ out of 70 to have some sound. The sun roof with the vent only mode, barely opens. The LED lights work a wonder lighting everything up without blinding other drivers. Great Ambient Light setting, can change to any color you like... So the GT logo on dash lights up as well as the side panels. I only have put 1500 miles on it , so far...I'm pleased for the price. paid above msrp for 31k

I love everything about this car. Love the sound it makes to the comfort of it! The way it drives and handles all road situations. When you need a little extra the turbo kicks in when needed and boom you are out and in front of it all. I also love the looks of this car. Different yet sexy at the same time. Keep doing what you’re doing Kia!

Car runs great. But if you have an iPhone and plan on connecting to Carplay - good luck. I've had the car for two months and can't connect or get anyone on the phone to help me
