Used 2005 Kia Amanti 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
My Amanti
I had a 740i prior to this Amanti. I enjoy this car much better, the fact it has everything my other car had and the maintenance is 1/10 the cost. It's fun to drive long distance, and gets an average of 25 miles to the gallon on long drives. As a luxury car, I will consider this the best one I've own. Performance is a little on the weak side, but the driving is a great pleasure to behold the owner. Many strangers have commented to myself and my spouse of how much they like the looks of the car, not to mention mistaking it at first for a Mercedes or Jaguar depending if the reference was from the rear or front. After looking at various cars, we were sold on this one with no second thought.
Smooth Ride
I really like the nice, smooth highway ride. The interior looks rich and controls work smoothly. I like the style of the roof, especially the rear. It's squared off, not rounded like all the rest.

major transmision problems
after 3 years and 26000 miles. and dealership service always on time the transmision started whining almost like a grind. i took it to a kia dealer and it needs a new transmision! they had to order a new one and no loaner car all they said is the best they can do is give a courtesy ride home.
My 6 Months with an '05 Amanti
This is the most comfortable riding car I've ever owned. It's extremely quiet, has every possible convenience feature, is easy to see out of, has a tight turning circle, has excellent workmanship and comes in at an amazingly good price. Frankly, I don't see any reason to spend more for a Camry or the same for an Accord both of which have fewer features and less comfort. The Amanti is a wonderful highway car and is ideal for smoothing out rough city streets as well. The interior is amazingly roomy and the heated rear seats, left and right temperature controls and rear A/C and heat are welcome to all passengers. Mine has been trouble free for over 5000 km and I love it.
Luv Amanti
Yes it is slow but it is very quiet and comfortable. High quality amenities. Kia based its design on the top luxury cars. It uses the same key entry and power windows as the BMW. The sound system is superb. The trunk and engine compartment are beautiful. I get 22 MPG consistently.
Amanti vs Cadillac
I went from a Cadillac to an Amanti - a HUGE difference. The Amanti has a "fast" car feel when driving, hugging the curves. There are Cadillac comfort features that I miss: Armrest for the driver, side mirrors that stay set, outlets that work when the engine is off, and better available storage for the driver. The plus items for the Amanti would be: nice trunk, comfortable rear passenger sets, individual a/c settings, and the front passenger seat reclines. We did tint the windows and now the car looks 100% like a Jag - just needs the hood emblem. One service center actually thought it was a Jag until he saw the wheel coverings.
What can I say
The car handles like a dream, very, very comfortable. The power plant is more than adequate to get you onto the highway, and with cruise you have no problem keeping in traffic. In fact, I use cruise to keep myself from getting a ticket, because it drives so quietly, you don't realize how quickly you are moving. I've had minor repairs done to the SRS (airbags), but overall the car has met or exceeded my expectations. Around town I get 20+ mpg and on trips 25+ mpg.
Imports really did it this time
The luxury of the best of both domestics and import high end at a price all can appreciate. Best value available today. Looks like a Bentley and Lincoln combined. Handles like a Rolls. The best of all luxury cars at a domestic economy price.
Very pleased owner
We compared the Chrysler 300 and the Kia Amanti. We found the Amanti to be equal in all areas and have been well satisfied. We own 4 other Chrysler products but with the warranty and price we choose the Kia.
OH MY GOSH!!
Great car--great buying experience. It took me about 18 months to pull the trigger on a new car. I usually buy used and drive them forever. But I fell in love with this car and it has lived up to my every expectation. Feature function value to the max. Friends and family can't believe the extras included for the price. I didn't think the dual heat/AC would be that noticeable but my wife and I can ride in total temperature comfort with no problem. Interior looks like a much higher priced luxury car. Controls are easy to adjust and intuitive to figure out. Decent gas mileage but you don't buy a car like this for the gas mileage. Very roomy, very comfortable. Bargain hunter's delight.
