Used 2005 Kia Amanti 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Luv Amanti
Yes it is slow but it is very quiet and comfortable. High quality amenities. Kia based its design on the top luxury cars. It uses the same key entry and power windows as the BMW. The sound system is superb. The trunk and engine compartment are beautiful. I get 22 MPG consistently.
Side Mirror Problems
I've had my 2005 Kia Amanti since 2006. The side mirrors have never worked. After complaining for a year the dealer ship installed a new motor, as I understand. that didn't do a thing!. If I use my Key and not the Key Fob the mirrors stay in place and don't move. I use my Fob and have to adjust my out side mirrors every time I get into the car.

I Own One, I Like It!
This car was designed to impress the passengers more than the pedestrians. While the design will not win any awards, I like it because it has a stately look to it. Tall greenhouse, aggressive front end, impressive stance. It's a pleasure to drive as long as you don't expect to beat the Chrysler 300C next to you at the stop light. I traded a Caddy Seville in on this car. I like the ride and features in the Amanti better.
I love it!
I love everything about this car! But, the gas mileage lacks a lot to be desired. You must use premium gas, but the best I have done on a long road trip is 17.2 mpg. I don't believe I will ever see 25 mpg. The strange thing is that it does not seem to matter with this car whether you drive it like a grandma or at high speeds. It gets the same on a long trip either way. I must say that I like the car enough that even with the bad gas mileage, I would still purchase the same car if I had it to do all over again. I spent a long time shopping prior to buying, and for the price, in my opinion, it is the best car on the market. Very high quality.
I can't believe I bought a Kia
I was looking for a family sedan, as I need to transport two teenage boys, a husband, my father and myself. After test driving the Altima 2.5 as well as the 3.5, the Saturn Ion, Ford 500, and a few other cars, we stopped in at the local Kia dealer on a whim. Not seriously thinking about even looking at the Kia much less taking it for a spin. Boy was I shocked ... speechless would even be appropriate. This car looks like a million bucks. After taking it for a test drive I knew our search was over. I'm hard to please. I own a BMW and a Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition. I like quality, and I'm willing to pay for it. This car is a steal. Don't pay attention to the nay sayers ... try it.
2005 Amanti
Got the car a week ago, have noticed that as it gets colder the ride gets stiffer. I did not like the plastic gas filler cover on a car at this price. Car handles well even with summer tires on icy roads. the ESP and ABS systems keep the car on track when accelerating or breaking, as I passed numerous vehicles in the ditch on their sides. Quality of fuel makes a considerable difference in fuel mileage.
What a bargain
I found this car by accident, drove it reluctantly, and fell in love. I make a good living and NEVER play keep up with the Jones type games. The exterior is kind of weird looking to my taste, but the interior is beyond first class I find it very responsive, good mileage, and a pleasure to commute in. If you're looking for a first class car, and want to save a lot of money, try the Amanti.
My 6 Months with an '05 Amanti
This is the most comfortable riding car I've ever owned. It's extremely quiet, has every possible convenience feature, is easy to see out of, has a tight turning circle, has excellent workmanship and comes in at an amazingly good price. Frankly, I don't see any reason to spend more for a Camry or the same for an Accord both of which have fewer features and less comfort. The Amanti is a wonderful highway car and is ideal for smoothing out rough city streets as well. The interior is amazingly roomy and the heated rear seats, left and right temperature controls and rear A/C and heat are welcome to all passengers. Mine has been trouble free for over 5000 km and I love it.
Kia Amanti
The typical Kia reliability is evident in the Amanti as well as in the other Kia cars I've owned over the past 11 years. Excellent value, absolute reliability. It's not a "performance" car, nor does it pretend to be. More than adequate power for "normal" driving.
Feeling sad
I purchased my car with 913 miles on it. It was primarily driven by the Kia manager where I purchased my vehicle. I have roughly 28,000 miles on my car and I am on my 2nd transmission. The new transmission is unfortunately not any better than the initial one. My 1st tranny was replaced at 22,000. I've brought it back to the dealership and told them about the new 2nd transmission slipping when starting up. Now with cold weather it's even worse and I'm actually afraid to drive it any long distances until I get this transmission remedied or get another new transmission. I'm very envious of the folks who have had good luck. I really love my Amanti, but it's sick at the moment.
