Used 2016 Jeep Renegade SUV Consumer Reviews
Much better than I expected
As of December 2022, i remain delighted witg tgis 2.4L Jeep Renegade Limited. I bought this car with very low expectations. After all, it was a Jeep made in Italy. But...it was incredibly inexpensive compared to other SUVs, had four-wheel drive, great cargo space and fit nicely into my garage. I now have 70,000 miles on it and have driven up and down mountains, in deserts, dozens of national parks and every state park in Virginia. It's been a dream. The 2.4L engine has enough pep, the gas milage around 28MPG is fine and the handling is great fun. My buddy bought a practical Subaru and can't wait to get behind the steering wheel of my Jeep. During the height of COVID, I was able to pack tons of food, diapers and cleaning products to take to the desperate in our community. Everyone came to smile when seeing this Jeep in their neighborhood. Maintenance? I'm meticulous about this. The only work has been what is supposed to be done periodically. Whatever ratings for this vehicle and its successors, they seem to be proliferating. I see Renegades everywhere. Buyers love them, even if Edmunds and Consumer Reports doesn't. The People's Choice, not the critics' choice. UPDATE: I have driven this Jeep all over the U.S. in the most difficult terrain. Whether on the highway or off, the handling is superb...and fun .The 4WD means you can drive just about anywhere. I've had few issues with the vehicle, but I am meticulous about checking and servicing. I am averaging 29.2MPH, but I knew from the start that if you want to boost your gas mileage, turn off the traction control and ESC. You don't need them for anything other than rain, snow or ice. There is a button to do this. It has to be pressed every time before moving the car, but especially for long distance driving, your gas mileage will jump 5MPH. What attracted me to the Jeep was the length. It fits everywhere perfectly. So easy to park compared to the behemoths out there these days.

Don’t buy this car
Gas sucks, no room for families, gas tank is small. The engine sounds like it’s going to fall out of my car and buying it with only 30 miles on it I should not have to worry about that and Jeep nor the dealership I bought it from want to do anything to help me fix this stupid car.
