Used 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5M) Consumer Reviews
Very Satisfied
I drive about 80 miles a day to and from work. Even driving 70 MPH to and from work, I average 19 MPG. I have taken it offroad (mostly on hard and soft packed roads) in southern Utah and it performs very well. I wished the rear seats folded flat (as in the PT Cruiser). Only real complaint: lack of cubby holes to store odds and ends. I did replace the tires within 200 miles of new with a slightly larger set.
Improvements Needed
I find that the Jeep Liberty is a solid reliable vehicle. Fit & finish is of high quality. Excellent driving manners, with plenty of power. The 3.7 engine performs beautifully. However the drawback to the Liberty is that the driver seat doesn't have enough cushion. The interior lighting is very poor. Engine can be loud when you accelerate. It's a Jeep, and I mean it does have a rough side to it. I have to say in the snow there is no other vehicle I would rather be in. It's a blast to drive when snow starts to fly. Would I purchase another Jeep? I would consider it. I would look at the fuel consumption to determine if it would be worth my while. Aside from that I would say yes, I'm am pleased with it.

One year and loving it.
I have owned my Jeep for a year now and have loved every minute of it. It is an absolute blast to drive. At this point in time, I have no complaints. Fun, fun, fun to drive. I traded tires and now have BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As. The Jeep was great in the snow. What a mountain goat!
dont get the 4 cyl

Scottish Jeep Cherokee review
Changed to Jeep from LR Freelander for off road ability. Now used extensively offroad in Scotland French Alps. Tiring to drive round town due to weight and control effort required ( manual . Great long distance cruiser- lots of space and very civilised. Chassis build quality is fantastically 'vault' like but surprisingly it's unreliable with fan belt sawing thru badly positioned coolant pipe in first 1000 miles, frayed wire causing warning lights to come on and diesel leaking from injector. Superbly plush suspension offroad though surprisingly low ground clearance at sump means lots of noise when rock hopping though no damage to date.
