I am glad I didn't go by "expert" review, test drove and took this car! I had 2021 Compass leased and received promotional offer from dealer to turn it it 5 months in advance with no penalty, if I lease newer Jeep. I am so happy that I took the offer! This newer Compass is such an improvement compared to 2021 model. Engine is a lot more powerful, I drove 100 mph in a short stretch of remote highway, and I didn't even feel the speed. Transmission shifts just fine, in fact it is much better than the older Compass. I don't know what car was tested by review writers who complain of quick shift to upper gear, may be they drove defective models, or need the electronic adjustment of transmission. I always felt the 2021 Compass was too sluggish and had to sometimes switch to 'manual' mode to keep it in lower gear long enough before shifting. This newer Jeep has no such issue! It will shift slow if you push accelerator, literally telling car to 'accelerate'. Now, if you touch gas pedal too slightly then it will read this as your desire to save on gas and upshift earlier, but it's UP TO YOU how you want it to go. So, you have a control and the car is very responsive. I like the large infotainment screen, which isn't confusing at all. It took me less than a minute to get used to it and intuitively figure how to use it. Interior materials are top notch. I have a Lux with leather seats, with optional panoramic sunroof, Alpine sound system with 9 speakers. LED lights, automatic high-beams, wireless Carplay, automatic collision warnings and breaks, blind-spot detection, this car has everything to make a comfortable and safe ride. Don't listen to 'expert' reviews, take it for a test drive, compare to other compact SUV's and make your own decision! I would highly recommend it to my friends and relatives.

It has all the bells and whistles and definitely has some spunk. The customizable dashboard panel is very handy. The ventilated seats for summer are a must have!

Bought my 2023 Compass Latitude in July of 2023 after the transmission died on my 2017 Grand Cherokee. To date the Compass has just under 7000 miles on it and has been in for service 6 times due to battery light being on. After being told I don’t drive it enough for the battery to recharge and that it was caused by the aftermarket devices ( usb cord for my phone) they finally found gasket material between the grounding strap located by battery and frame of the car. I just got the car back because the battery light was on again and this time it was a defect in the battery cable on the negative terminal. I have reported it to FCA and they will not cover it under lemon law. At this point I am hoping someone will steal the car. Sorry I bought a Jeep.

Yesterday got into an accident where a car ran a red and tboned me causing me to flip multiple times. Got out of the car on my own and walked away with nothing but a bruised knee. This thing save me from potential serious injury. Good job

Beautiful model couldn’t be happier! Drive smoothly doesn’t feel like I’m driving a truck by any means, but it works beautifully in the snow.

Jeep-bashing seems to be a fetish for professional reviewers. What else is new? I recently went from from a GC to the Compass (Limited) and it is definitely a GC Lite. Stellantis recently began cutting prices to boost flagging demand, and my local dealer worked with me for a very fair price. As Jeep fans know, these are great for snowy, hilly conditions like we have in New England. Why are all the other brands desperately adding features that Jeep has had for decades? If Jeep is so “bad”, why are others copying them? Specifically to these criticisms: engine noise is normal, not overwhelming like the review says. Headrest preference makes it fail the comfort test? Please. I tried several competitors, and the only two i really considered were the Chevy Trax and the Ford Escape Hybrid. The Escape was a little more expensive but was a nice ride with some nice touches like adjustable rear seats and a dead-quiet hubrid engine. The Trax was very uncomfortable for me, deal breaker. The equivalent Honda, Toyota, and Mazda models were acceptable but nothing magical. I chose the Jeep and am extremely glad i did. Do your research and test drive everything you can. You might enjoy this Jeep as much as i do.

After one year with the Compass I'm still happy. My Limited has most everything in terms of features that I wanted. Heated wheel, power leather seat, fairly quiet and smooth on the highway. For the roads in Vermont and elevation changes in my commutes it does well, I consistently average 30 mpg. Wind will definitely lower your mileage, as do inclines. It does sit high compared to most. I drive most of the immidiate competition. The Mazda CX-5 was probably the best I drove, great handling. Their CX-50 I didn't like at all due to the harsh ride. I don't find this Compass noisy at all, nor do I find the controls that difficult to use. I agree with one poster that the wipers don't offer much confidence, the rain-sensing is hit or miss, likely the biggest flaw. Would I rather have gotten a Crosstrek or a CX-5? Crosstrek rode extremely well, which really surprised me, but I felt claustrophobic in it. Both the Crosstrek and the CX-5 handled better, but the Mazda was butt-slow, and the Mazda was just ok. The kicker for me was that this Compass I got for 15% off sticker, so $5,600 off sticker. Plus it has a nice 8-speed transmission. I've never encountered an issue with shutting either, so that remark confused me in the review. I've always like the Mazda CX-5, extremely nice interior, and drives the best of any of them. But chasing the options made the price too high. Jeep prices start too high, hence the discounts. Jeep is a touch more aggressive in term of any off pavement as well.

I love everything about this car. It’s beautifully designed on the inside. Too many of these cars are black and dark and just ugly inside. The gray material is so classy. I’ve had it for a year and my only complaint is that I wish it did not have the self charging pad. We could use that space to put keys etc. They suggest putting keys there could damage the fob. My iPhone Otterbox case prevents it from charging anyway. I must also add that we bought the car brand new and after 1500 miles it started burning oil. The dealership replaced the entire engine immediately and we have had not a problem since. You know I must like it after that experience. I told my husband I still wanted another one just like it!

Bought a 2023 Jeep Compass thinking that buying a new car we would not have issues. Turns out that all we have had. Driving down the highway with no other cars around the cruise control randomly shuts off. At night the headlights will change from bright to dim with no on coming traffic. Wipers randomly start and you can shut them off. Engine sounds like it has a miss. When taken to the dealer for support they tell us it is functioning properly. They even told us the wipers and cruise control go off because of a blink sensor. I would not recommend any Jeep product to anyone as they are unsafe and dealers do not know how to asses them for issues.

I was looking for a new daily commuter that I would pass down to the kid in a few years and ended up going with the Compass after test driving just about everything in the subcompact SUV class. I almost dismissed it due to some of the mediocre reviews I had read but I honestly believe these reviews are spill-over from previous generations. Im not saying the Compass is the best thing on the market but it is way better than half the SUV’s that are consistently ranked higher than it. The Compass wins in looks compared to almost every other subcompact and now that it has the new 2.0T and 8speed it performs just as well. There were other subcompacts that I liked better in certain areas but the Compass was the best well-rounded pick. The Mazda CX-5 2.5Turbo was the better performance vehicle but the interior was outdated and the infotainment system was not good. The Dodge Hornet GT plus looked amazing and drove great but there was minimal technology and I couldn’t find one with leather. The Rav4 TRD Off-Road had a mean rugged look but everything else about it was lackluster. The Honda CR-V checked a lot of boxes for me (ie. Safety, space, MPG’s, etc.) but the Compass felt better. Pros: • Exterior design looks great, it literally is a small Grand Cherokee. • Interior design and materials are top-notch. • New engine and transmission make it a completely new Compass. • Tons of tech and safety features. Cons: • $$$$ My Compass (High Altitude w/ Driver Assistance and Elite packages) was $44K… that’s Grand Cherokee / Wrangler prices! • I didn’t notice it until I read this review but there is a significant amount of engine noise in the cabin although the Alpines take care of that. • Engine is better but wish they could’ve squeezed 25-50 more horsepower out of it. • It is on the smaller side of it’s class.

Don’t know wich car the experts reviewed. By far a much more comfortable, fast and luxurious than Taos, HR-V or Tucson. in-deed its more expensive, but you get what you Pay… period.

I like my 2024 Compass Trailhawk. But first, I need to politely disagree with the Edmonds reviewers. The Compass is 4WD, not AWD. When in “auto” mode (the default), power is distributed to the rear wheels only when needed. This is 4WD, which saves wear and tear on the drivetrain, and helps a little with fuel economy. Further, it has many more features unique to a 4WD vehicle, such as, 4WD lock, low range, hill ascent/descent assistance, snow/mud/sand/rock settings, and around 9 inches of ground clearance. It also has underbody protection (skid plates). While I have no plans to drive off of cliffs and through rivers with my Wrangler-owning brethren, it is good to have some of those capabilities available if needed. Edmonds also points out that this is not the most up to date styling. True. If that’s a concern, look at the Chevy Trailblazer, Honda, etc. The Compass looks like it’s from the Jeep family and that’s fine with me. The 200 HP 2.0 turbo four has plenty of power to get me over Colorado’s 10,000 ft. passes, and fuel economy is very good. I’m getting 28 MPG in town, and fully expect mid 30s as some have reported on road trips. The heated and ventilated seats are great features to help cope with temperature extremes. There’s lots of technology. Some is useful, and some is not, and can be turned off and/or ignored. WiFi with Alexa? No need. Lane departure warning? No need, turned it off. Blind spot monitoring? Nice to have. Cross traffic detection? Good to have. Forward collision detection? Too many false positives allowed in the algorithm. Learned the hard way and turned it off. The 10.1 inch screen is more than adequate for the backup camera and the GPS navigation system. I strongly prefer GPS navigation over Google Maps, since the latter only works well when there is cell phone coverage and lots of data available on your phone contract. There are still many areas in the western US where there is no cell phone coverage. I do wish that TomTom (nav provider) would keep the residential posted speed limit data up to date. I think Garmin is superior in that regard. If you are a soccer mom or are shopping in behalf of one, this may not be the optimal solution. Take a look at the Chevy Equinox EV, you might like it better. For me, the Compass Is a great car, best one I have ever owned, and I am very thankful for it.
Long time Jeep owners, but regretting this one.

We have owned many Jeeps over the years. My favorite is our 2020 Rubicon unlimited. Anyways we purchased a new 2023 Jeep Compass Latitude Lux 2 weeks ago. A week into ownership it throws a service transmission code. I took it in to the dealership to have it repaired. They said it's a bad transmission control module. They ordered a replacement, which Chrysler cancelled. Told them to reinstall the original TCM and drive it 40 miles. If it doesn't throw the code again, give it back to customer. I'm sorry but this is not acceptable. I will not trust this vehicle anymore. Only 280 miles on it. This vehicle was purchased as a daily driver and for long trips to save fuel. Needless to say we will not drive it on long trips, since it can't be trusted. The TCM should have been replaced. Instead it's all about Chrysler saving money by not repairing vehicle properly.

Our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew was getting a little long in the tooth, this vehicle serviced us well and it was time for a replacement. Our needs had changed somewhat, and we didn't need such a large vehicle. The Jeep Compass fills the bill as far as passenger comfort, ride quality, and overall performance. It's cargo capacity is also right on target for us as it will accommodate a medium sized airline dog kennel with ease plus have room left over for a weeks worth (for us) of luggage for 2 people and a container for dog accessories (food water toys grooming, etc.), and still have the rear seat upright and available for passengers. We have the Latitude Lux edition with the Driver convenience package and have found it to be equipped with everything a person could ask for in functionality. I have experienced none of the complaints or shortfalls that the editors of Edmunds have claimed. No excessive engine noise, No excessive body roll, No excessive road and wind noise. Once settled in the drivers seat it is a pleasant driving experience for me. The Jeep Compass Latitude Lux Exceeds my Expectations. It comes Highly recommended.

I would like to say that I love this Jeep, but it has been nothing but problems. The sensors keep malfunctioning. I have had it back to the dealer 20 times and each time it is something new that is wrong. The radio has a short in it now and has been on backorder for over 6 month. and the heat blowers for for your feet went out and those are also on back order.

Just bought on Monday it’s amazing so far don’t let people tell you it’s too small I’m 6’4 and have to scoot the seat up to reach the peddles it’s bigger on the inside than it looks. The backseat is comfortable and easy to get out of for my older parents (60-70) one rides up front. The turbo is amazing and I’m getting 27 mpg. I got the billet silver which changes color almost depending on angle you look at love it. The interior is black leather and those seats are so comfy I’m looking forward to driving from Alabama to Florida in the summer, a year later and 12,000 miles later still in love

I drove a Trailhawk 3 years ago and it was just ok as engine power, but the new 2.0L Turbo engine is what the Compass needed badly! It's quick for its size and on the highway will get up and fly before you know it. Taken it on some really long trips to Northern Ohio and West Michigan and averaged 37-39 mpg and if I am really easy it will hit 40mpg! The key is how do you drive it, this engine does have a peaky growl when pushed and it does get loud but I'm fine with it because the results it shows. Cold starts it's loud for about 1:15 and then settles down which I believe is by design so let it idle until the RPMs drop off then drive. Ride is buttery smooth even on rough roads and gravel/dirt roads and yes the Limited with all wheel drive had no wheel slippage going up snow and dirt roads in Southern Indiana. AS my son said "This Jeep has Cadillac suspension" and wind noise- ZERO so I am not sure where the writer of this article is hearing his sounds(inside a tornado?) Seats are one of the best features as they are very comfortable and the controls are easy to use. The Uconnect is easy to use so with everything said the oly dislike was the over all cost- 33k is still too high!!!

1. My touch screen hardly ever works properly or at all; 2. the tire pressure goes down even when we haven't had our sever cold point yet/even warm days; 3. my brake system locks every day, multiple times a day; 4. I get weird notifications when I am parking that my speed is too fast; 4. The back-up camera sometimes freezes when I am backing-up; 5. when I use the ac the vehicle bounces; 6. sometimes when I start the vehicle it sounds like it wants to blow up; 7. when I go from reverse to drive I receive the wet ground warning and the vehicle hesitates to go then revs up

Two, the exterior color choices are sparse, and are even fewer for 2025. Last, I didn't like having to pay almost $4000 for the elite package just to have GPS navigation. I would like to see many more al a carte options, rather than fewer. If you are a soccer mom or are shopping in behalf of one, this may not be the optimal solution. Take a look at the Chevy Equinox EV, you might like it better. For me, the Compass Is a great car, best one I have ever owned, and I am very thankful for it.

Throttle body problems

Purchased a Jeep Compass 3 months ago have had the car in for a replacement of the throttle body. Because the car would not go over 20 miles an hour. For the second time, I'm back with the same problem. The dealership is stumped on. What's causing the throttle body to be damaged and not run right? Disabling the car completely.

Love my 2023 Compass! There's only one rule for buying one. It must have the Turbo engine. It provides plenty of pickup which comes in handy when entering a freeway.

From Trailhawk to a Compass limited w/High Altitud

I originally on the Trailhawk 2020. When I turned that in, I purchased a 2024 compass limited with high altitude packaged The 2024 Limited with high altitude package is classy, sharp and basically meets my needs. If I miss anything, it would be the garage door opener and the Pennstar engine however, there is example horsepower under the hood with the 2.0 with turbo and I purchased a garage door opener for my keychain.(problem solved) I do miss my Trailhawk and wish I would’ve bought it outright for the lease however, this 2024 what I need and gets the job done. I am getting about 26 miles to the gallon with the combination of city and Highway all work and back. I also have a2016 Laramie truck which gets 15 miles to the gallon so I’m saving roughly $100 a month and fuel cost with gas is at three dollars per gallon. I paid about $40,000 with destination charges for the 2024 compass Limited high altitude package. With all the features, including the Alpine stereo and panoramic sunroof, I feel like I got a good deal

I just purchased a Jeep Compass Lattitude Lux. This car performs very well with a great rrride (no bumps) comes with 4WD. This also has a unexpected pickup to pass there is no drag or sputter when accelerating!

I just drove a 24 compass sport from ca to tx. 1600 miles in 2 days. Ride is pretty good, power is more than adequate, power train and 8 speed trans is smooth .. engine is a bit rough when you rev to 5k passing a truck but quiet at 75mph+ cruise speeds. Wind noise is ok. Room is good for a compact. 27mpg on high speed freeway run but tank is quite small so range is not great. No adaptive cruise on the base model … these days you really need that .. and the lane keep assist is not as useful as in the kias or fords which I have recently driven. Unconnected screen and interface is pretty good, but plugging and unplugging phone sometimes causes confusion in the car play connection. No dual zone climate in the base model. Seat ok for about 2 hours but after that is not comfortable. Steering is a bit vague, high speed turn handling is not as secure as say a Vw .. or even ford escape. Didn’t try the 4wd system, but kept getting constant warning messages to service system .. even though nothing apparently wrong (bad sensor ?). Car looks good. Headlights ok. Interior not bad, but limited center console storage. Overall, quite impressed for entry level model, but a few features missing, The ford escape active was better in a lot of respects, except the engine,

I just bought a new 2024 Jeep Compass and had to put new tires on it with only 1,170 miles on it. I live in Eastern WA where we get rain and snow. The tires hydroplane on puddles on the freeway (would pull very badly) and don’t do good at all in the snow (was sliding all over the place). Also, the adaptive cruise control doesn’t work very good (even when trying the three different sensitivities), doesn’t work good at all on country road with trees on the sides of the road.

Only owned it a month and driven about 1000 miles at this point, so these are really first impressions. The car is filling the need we have for a compact, economical daily driver that gets used mostly for local trips. We bought it between Christmas and New Years Day and with rebates and discounts the final price was nearly 30% off the sticker price. Car is a Latitude Lux with oversize sunroof, alpine stereo and LED light package. Our Compass is comfortable, handles well, is rattle free, and the engine is sufficiently powerful for confident city and interstate driving - it never feels like it is struggling to merge or to keep up with traffic. The front seats are comfortable, but they are close together and the console is small - my wife's purse winds up either in my lap or on the passenger side floor when she's driving. The trunk is good size and we found the trunk floor could be lowered several inches for some additional space. Lowering the floor also created a ledge so nothing in the trunk can roll out. There's no spare tire, just a pump and can of tire sealant - this is a negative to me, the Trailhawk trim includes a spare tire. Last, the upper right corner of the radio display, where the passenger seat heater button is located, is very finicky about getting pressed just right, we may get this serviced. Overall we are satisfied and enjoying the car. I hope I do not have to give a negative update to the review someday!

I bought my 2024 Jeep Compass Limited a week ago. It drives great!! Don’t listen to all the “experts” that say it’s no good. Go drive the Limited Version and you wont regret it.

Had NO idea auto hatchback was NOT standard when I purchased this vehicle.It never even crossed my mind to ask.Heated seats/steering wheel.Hate this vehicle!!!10yr olds+come with hatchback latch.I buy brand new and have this junk.DEAL BREAKER not even worthy of 1 star

I now own my second Jeep Compass Trailhawk, a red 2023. I have had this one 7 months. I had my previous one for 2 years. Both Jeeps are outstanding for a small SUV. I have driven cross country through all kinds of weather and terrain and the high quality comes through. Good power, great gas mileage, decent cargo capacity and high ground clearance are all appreciated. The safety features and tech are first rate and reliable. I appreciate the heated and cooled seats, as I have been on 100+ degree weather and deep snow with this rig. Yes, it is small, but it is nimble in traffic, powerful with the new turbo engine, and very easy to park. I really like this Jeep and look forward to years of ownership.

Call me confused after reading the "Expert" review of the 2023 Jeep Compass. We have owned 72 cars, 26 different brands, and we would put the 2023 Jeep Compass Trail Hawk, bought it used, at the top of this list. We currently own 2 Jeep Wranglers, never ANY problems, and added the Jeep Compass Trail Hawk to the family...Everything you may read in the "Expert" review I would disagree with...The new 2023 turbo engine is peppy, the transmission smooth, the interior is far from cheap, we have leather seating, yes the center console is small; however, the glove box and cubby, located in front of the shifter, more than makes up for the center console, the infotainment system that Jeep puts out, in all their vehicles, is the best we have experienced, interior space is more than sufficient for a Couple with an active lifestyle...This is a nice SUV for Seniors or a Young Couple, no it is not an SUV for a family with kids; however the new 2026 Jeep Compass that is coming out next year is larger....Want more room, the Grand Cherokee is above the rest for SUV's...

This is a great capable entry level SUV. I've never owned anything other than a car in 45 years of driving, but recently needed to replace my FWD Dodge Dart, because I only own RWD muscle cars that put too much power to the rear wheels on bad weather days. Instead of going FWD , I decided to go either AWD or 4WD.I also wanted a little larger vehicle with more road clearance. The question I had was would I sacrifice ride , handling and performance to get all that. I was EXTREMELY delighted to find after 500 miles now the answer was absolutely NOT! I love this Jeep Compass. It gives me everything I wanted in safety and convenience...and also it feels nimble in handling, and quick with the 200hp 2.0L Turbo 4. the ride is smooth and the interior VERY comfortable as well. you also don't need to step up in options to get a nicely equipped version in the SPORT. Lots of safety features and current tech too. The mileage as well is better than my old Dart... which is IMPRESSIVE, being that its 4WD, larger, and more horsepower. All in ALL I can NOT be happier and more delighted...especially at this price range!!! I now have a more than competent all whether, all terrain vehicle... that looks great and is FUN to drive. Well done JEEP!
