Worst car I have ever owned
2018 Jeep compass trailhawk was bought in July of 2019. Vehicle ran fine until July of 2020. Vehicle would display multiple service lights, at random times the vehicle would not shift, vehicle wouldn’t go over 40 on highway. Eventually the vehicle quit starting all together. Vehicle was taken to dealer on September 22nd of 2020. They said it needed a software update, so they charged me $300 and sent me on my way. Vehicle was immediately returned as the update did nothing. Dealer advised (a month later) it had a bad valve body and transmission control module. The part didn’t arrive until early November 2020. Dealer didn’t even install the part until January 20th of 2021. After the install they advised the vehicle still doesn’t work and don’t know what the issue is. My vehicle has been in the shop for 4 months now with no end in sight. The dealer was very lazy and didn’t care about my situation (in fact they loaned me a wrecked vehicle, and tried to blame me when I complained. But I had pictures of the damage from when I took possession). I’m short, don’t waste your time or money with Jeep/Dodge/Fiat. I live in Illinois, where lemon law doesn’t cover used vehicles. So I am completely stuck. Don’t make the same mistake.

40K - Always something wrong with it.
I bought my 2018 Compass Trailhawk in November 2017. I had a issue with the towing module, but the Jeep Wave program made the issue bearable. The issue was thought to be resolved. 4 trips to dealer to finally get it repaired. But every time i had to take it back it has always had multiple things go wrong while waiting for the repair appointment. It has been in the repair shop 7 times in 15 months of ownership. I have had too many issues with the Uconnect. Bluetooth is terribly unreliable, works sometimes. 8.4 in screen has become almost unusable. Its been 3 weeks+ and no sign of a new one. It always defaults back to XM, no matter what you were listening to previously. Read all the threads about Uconnect issues before you buy, I wish I did. Never again. Jeep even extended the warranty, since there are so many problem with this car. Resale value is half if what i paid so i'm stuck with it. Literally half. It has been off road and seems to be fairly capable, but even the Trailhawk version doesn't have much clearance so you need to be mindfull. Great in the snow! Mileage is around 25 MPG avg. It could use more horsepower or a transmission that is more responsive when trying to pass on the highway. It would be a great car if the quality was better. If you but a Jeep get the longest warranty you can, the electronic failure repairs will crush you if you don't. Best part of the car is that the Falcon tires still have tread at 40k.

Do not buy
Two weeks after I purchased this vehicle I came outside of my house to find transmission fluid all over my driveway. It was towed to the nearest dealership and spent 4 WEEKS in the shop. I made the first payment on the vehicle while driving a rental. I got it back and it makes a loud grinding sound while driving on the highway and Jeep is telling me it is “operating as designed”. I test drove a different one just to make sure and it did not make the sound. I will never buy anything Mopar again.

Tuff little BEAST!
I drove gun jeeps in Vietnam and fast forward to my 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk, the military stuff we had were nowhere as agile, "determined" and giddy-up-go as my Trailhawk. I drive it on a ranch here in Texas in places I'd never dare take the Jeep I drove in Vietnam. I'm 6 feet tall and can adjust the seat to where I am comfortable on short trips or driving through several states. I can haul two of my dogs in the back, or groceries - although for large loads I use a pickup or van we have. The only downside I have with this Trailhawk is the DARNED backup camera/display is impossible to adjust the light level at night. I've had it back to the dealership several times to get the software flashed, and the control to adjust the level of brightness for the display works fine for about a week, then goes wacko again and it looks like staring into a flame thrower because the dimmer can't lower the light intensity of the screen when backing up at night.

Great vehicle to drive fun!!
Have been driving my 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk a month now no problems at all so far. I love the way this Compass drives and gets through heavy snow excellent. I have a 70mile drive round trip to work and home and I am very comfortable in this Jeep sit up high and straight and seats curve your body just right. So far mpg is ok not great so far avg around 26 to 30 on highway I'm not easy on the accel and most of time cruise is set at 71 to 76. Some have complained of 9 speed but I have not experienced any concerns at all when driving a round town or hwy., mine may be later model build with proper software updates new vehicles in last 3 -4 years seem to have updates all the time just ask your dealer if any can be performed when bring in for oil change. Love the looks to have not really went off roading per say but that is not why I bought the Trailhawk model I bought it because it looks cool. Look I test drove other makes of this size SUVS and they all just seemed a little boring look all cars have there problems some a bit more than others but they are all fairly equal to each other so I do expect to bring any car I own into the shop once in awhile I have owned many different manufacture vehicles and they all had to have some repairs and or maintenance, after all they are name by imperfect human beings. Love my Jeep! its a Jeep thing ya know
