Used 2018 Jeep Compass Consumer Reviews
Worst vehicle I've ever owned
Bought in 2020, just 2 years old. No accidents or damage reported. Since then I've had suspension work done, and about 2 months later it's rattling again but haven't had a chance to get it looked at. It's burning oil like it's nothing, no one can figure out where or why. It gives no warning to low oil pressure until the car dies, and even then once it starts again the warning is gone and may or may not come back on. The touch screen was unresponsive for a few days, it would just randomly stop responding to finger touch. That's somehow working again. Accessory battery went out one day and I stalled at an intersection, every warning light came across the screen. It said my car was overheating, the stereo sound was disconnected, start/stop system unavailable, the list goes on. Meanwhile I have no clue why it died, and can't get it to start back up without the whole electrical system freaking out. It finally started and we were able to replace the battery only to find out that only solved half of the problem because the accessory battery was dead too. And that's under the dashboard apparently and is an pretty penny to replace. The first maybe 8 months I had it it was a great vehicle, however, it doesn't even have 85k miles on it and the laundry list of problems is never ending. Now there are things that I like, for instance how well it does in the snow, and even sand. Ive never really gotten stuck anywhere. There's a fair amount of room which is nice, but that's not enough to deal with the issues. I'm never getting another jeep again.
Chicky
The car is roomy for its overall size, but it is an oil burner! A software fix to combat this issue was done by the manufacturer but it was of little help. Recommend changing the oil not later than 3-4 months.

Wiring harness, what?????
Why would a 2018 Compass Trailhawk in 2022 need a new wiring harness with a 5 year extended warranty. I love this vehicle but am very disappointed in the warranty and the fact that it didn't last any longer than this. According to research a wiring harness should last the life of the vehicle (Note: garage kept and all maintenance and service kept up to date). Comments please.
I think the Jeep is possessed!
At 36,000 miles jeep started having these module problems. In the last year and a half it has been back to dealer 4 times They said they are working with engineers but can’t figure it out. The dashboard lights up with every warning. It won’t turn off Then when it finally turns off the warnings are still scrolling through on the dash. Tow truck driver had difficulty towing because couldn’t unlock tires. So had to drag left marks on ground from dragging. This is the absolute worst purchase I have ever made. I think what pisses me off most is that JEEP doesn’t stand behind their product. Obviously if your own engineers can’t figure out what’s wrong there’s a big problem. The last dealer Buhler in keyport nj actually told me I can take the car back it’s running but there were about 38 codes popping up and couldn’t figure out. So they just gave it back and after 3 weeks and no loaner car I just took back. And of course it happens again (because it was never fixed). Now took to different dealer and they are working with engineers and are really trying to figure out and gave me a loaner car. I have a video of the dashboard but. It sure if can upload anywhere. I will never buy another Jeep product and I take every opportunity to to tell everyone I know about the issues I’ve had with Jeep and how they turn their back on their shitty products. You would think that a brand new car would atleast last till it’s paid off But to have to pay $450 a month and not even be able to drive it is friggin crazy. I have nothing positive to say about the company They even give you a case manager but 🦗🦗🦗much like Jeep useless!!!!!!!!!!

|OIIIIIIIO|YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!
There are 3 things that I would mention change or complaint. First of all I believe some type of crash prevention should be in every vehicle! I would like to be able to use navigation on my dash without having to plug in my phone. (This has become time of wireless. No wires in a vehicle it's too crowded. lol) Last, my compass has some crappy headlights. I cannot drive anywhere that doesn't have light provided because I am scared to death if hitting someone or something I cannot see because my vehicles lights are very very under par! I cannot say anything else negative. I love my Compass and everything else about it. But, I am a guy.... bigger rims and tires are required but that's just personal preference. Any vehicle with the word "Sport" should have "sport" tires.
