Used 2018 Jeep Compass Consumer Reviews
Three major issues
The engine stops at every stop sign, light, or intersection. It takes a second or so for the engine to come back on before the car moves. This is the worst feature ever! You can disable it, but you have to push the disable button every single time you start the engine. The worst feature ever when driving in the city. Second, the back seat is the worst for adults. The seatbelt is too small, and gradually crushes you as the gear pulls the seatbelt tighter and tighter. When sitting with my kid in the back in long trips it’s impossible to wear the seatbelt. Finally, the cargo space is really small. You are lucky if you can fit two suitcases in the back. The technology is great and love that part of it, just some comfort and convenience things they greatly overlooked when designing this.i grantee not a single engineer designing this ever say in the back once to check for comfort issues.

It has grown on me
Ok, this is my 2nd. Review. My 1st one, well, I was missing my Hyundai elantra. Now I must say, that my compass is a good suv. I have NO IDEA where all the complaints come from. I've had it for about 7 months, not one single issue. Oh, and it was 117 degrees here in Vegas yesterday, and the a/c was ice cold. The 4 banger isn't the strongest engine in the world, but it gets the job done. Another jeep after this...idk. but for now this is an EXCELLENT ride. 2.5 years later, The jeep has had only 1 issue (not issue). Start stop has stopped working. I always used to override it anyway, so I don't care that its not working. Guess I'll get it fixed just because. Its a pretty good suv, and gas is now over 4 bucks, so, kinda glad to be rockin a 4 banger

2018 Jeep Compass Sport
2018 Jeep Compass Sport (pearl blue color) 2.4 L Multiair Tigershark engine, 6 speed automatic transmission. FWD. I have had this car for only 6 days now. Drove it off the lot being 1 year old with only 12,000 miles on it. Within these past 6 days I can say I really like the vehicle. Overall performance is great! No issues (so far )... Only negative side is the options. The Sport is the lowest trim available for the Compass model (base model), and I knew that when purchasing the car but for the cost of the vehicle I expected to see a little more. The interior is "eye catching" but in reality it doesn't offer much. The seats are manually adjusted, headlights are not automatic, they must be turned on and off manually, and the 5in. Touch Infotainment System doesn't offer anything other than basic radio and the ability to pair a cellphone for calls/media purposes, and even though it looks nice, much of the interior is made of cheap plastic. The exterior of the Compass is very appealing to the eye also; resembling the Grand Cherokee. Mine is the Jazz Blue Pearl color and I love it, very pretty! And even the Sport (base) trim comes with a few of Jeep's "easter eggs" decorations. However though, the Sport (base) is not equipted with fog lights, there is barely any chrome, the door handles are made of cheap black plastic, and the rims on the Sport model do not look "Sporty" at all! These are all things I plan on modifying to improve the appearance though. Again, so far I love this car but I just wish for the price it would have offered a little bit more. After purchasing this I now wish I wouldv'e paid the little extra more and got the Compass Latitude which offers a lot more. But the Compass Sport is still very nice! 4/5 stars for me !

Great off road capability but that’s it
I leased my Compass in March of 18 and I can’t wait to get rid of it. It has been back to the dealership multiple times for transmission and touch screen issues. When I drive down the interstate going 80 mph it will remain in 7th gear at 3900 rpm. When I switch it to manual mode and put it in 9th gear it goes down to 1200 rpm and I get decent mileage. I will say that it’s is a beast in snow and rain. I live in South Dakota so snow is something we see snow several months out of the year. I have never got stuck and there have been days where we got over 16 inches of snow in one shot. The remote start works when it wants to. The touch screen will get froze on the welcome screen and stay that way until you shut the Jeep off. I’m glad this a lease and will be done in March. I knew that is was a four cylinder when I got it but I was hoping that it would perform a little better then it does. I would say spend the extra and get the Cherokee Trailhawk.
AVOID
My 2018 Jeep Compass is currently at the shop because the transmission is shot. Went to a store, tried to reverse out and suddenly the car felt like it got rear ended. Transmission light and engine light on. Before that we had a starter issue which resulted in both batteries being replaced. Car could not go above 30mph, would shut off at every stop. Before that We had a leak from bad seal which flooded the right side of my car, mold grew quickly as we did not drive it that entire 3 day weekend. Before that the windshield wiper reservoir cracked and they claim it’s POSSIBLY wear and tear and won’t repair that Before that we took the Jeep 3 times about a break issue being way to sensitive. You barely touch it and I you get sent flying. They claim it’s normal for this Jeep and do nothing. Mpg is barely 18 and the tires they sold us are so poorly made. I’ve had 5x flats since buying. How cheap are these tires.
