Used 2018 Jeep Compass Consumer Reviews
Case of oil per 5000 miles
This vehicle uses oil right out of the gate... Don't buy it. Read reviews. This is the worse excuse for a new enigma that can be. 11/1/21 Sure...I'll update my review. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. Will not buy another Jeep!

Mine has been excellent. 20,200 miles today
My wife and I are retired, mid60’s. We have a small home in Idaho Falls, ID and a smaller one in SLO, CA. Family! Already had a 2015 Wrangler Unlimited. Love it, but it is not comfortable for our frequent 1,100 mile drive. MPG for the Wrangler is about 17-20. Also have a 2014 Ford CMax energi plugin. Great snowflake urban car, but the Idaho conditions chew it up and spit it out! We desired a vehicle that is comfortable to drive, sturdy enough for Eastern Idaho (essentially off-road conditions all Winter-every where! And Winter might last for nine months! So beautiful though!! The extended sunroof takes advantage of Rocky Mountain awesomeness!), and gets good enough mpg so that I would not have a stroke when filling up in California! Our 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk has satisfied this difficult set of demands admirably! It handles all sorts of difficult road conditions with ease! It is very comfortable and has nice handling characteristics. Nice interior and sound system. Attractive exterior. The mpg is pretty decent for a 4wd vehicle. It is a fairly heavy vehicle. I routinely get 23-27 mpg. Worst was about 22. Best was about 31. I now have no complaints about performance. It did take a little while to get used to the engine and transmission. It is different than most vehicles I have driven. Smooth and deliberate acceleration works best for us. This is definitely not a sports car! I think the designers were more focussed on economy than responsiveness. This is such a subjective matter though! I am an old fogie who drives the speed limit, rarely with a fully loaded car. I find it cruises at 80 just fine on an Idaho freeway. If you want to go a lot faster than that, and a lot of folks do, this might not be the best vehicle for you. Also, on the Teton Pass with 4 passengers and some cargo, the transmission was having a tough time figuring out what to do. High altitude,10 percent grades can do that to a lot of cars though. It doesn’t have any such issues with just the two of us. Stop/Start feature can be a pain, but I think that is true for all manufacturers. At least you can shut it off with the Compass. I find no mpg benefit with Stop/Start running. Shutting it off is a good option. That’s the first thing my wife does after she starts it up. So overall, I think that the 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk is the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned. Over 20,000 miles with no issues. The reviews are all over the place. Owners seem to either love it or hate it. We are firmly in the group of lovers, not haters! We also have had good service from a dealer. That makes a big difference! Hope it stays this way because I don’t expect the resale value to be nearly as solid as the Wrangler’s. For $30K off the lot, I still think it was a good deal. When I was at the dealer today getting the 20K service, I walked around the lot, checking out the new vehicles. Sticker shock!! Ouch! I would like to keep driving this car for a long time!

Worst buy!!!
Purchased my 2018 Jeep Compass NEW... Nothing but problems from the start..But what really brought me here today...Is the engine went out last week! Thankfully I maintained my extended warranty. The auto start-stop is draining my battery... It has been one problem after another. Now just waiting on a class action lawsuit to get started
Jeep compass 2018
I leased my jeep compass and have nothing but problems with it. Engine shuts off while I'm driving, no oil on stick at all, plastic parts breaking inside the car and the motor changes into gear on it's own. Worst car I ever leased.
