2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 75th Anniversary v6
I set up test drives for both the Jeep and a Mazda CX-5 for the same day. My fiance and I drove the Mazda and we both really liked it. We went into it with a Mazda bias, and were only testing the Jeep to say we compared the Mazda to something. We finished the test drive and absolutely fell in love with this car. I'm 6'6" and am coming from a 2003 Kia Spectra, so this Jeep is a huge step up for me. The particular Cherokee we got is a 4x4 Limited 75th Anniversary Edition with the optional V6 engine and a moonroof. I wasn't sure the V6 was necessary, but I'm so glad I got it, because it is an absolute blast to drive. The fuel economy isn't the greatest thing in the world, but we went in knowing that. I'm also new to the area, so when we have a little extra money, we're going to spring for the Navigation system. I have only owned this Jeep for about a month now, but I don't have a bad thing to say other than the gas mileage isn't that great. But considering that's because I'm accelerating around people with a V6 all the time, I can't complain too much. Love this car!!!

2016 Jeep Cherokee Leak
I was so excited to purchase the anniversary edition 2016 Jeep Cherokee. I even had customer leather seats installed with the matching tangerine and white trim and had all the windows tinted. On August 11, 2016, Baton Rouge experienced an enormous amount of rain. I've owned at least 20 cars in my lifetime and they've been through hurricanes and rain before, so this particular day shouldn't have been any different. It wouldn't have been if Jeep had made sure all the wheel wells were sealed. I brought my Jeep to a dealer and that's what they found. The LF wheel well wasn't sealed properly and I had several inches of water in my drivers floorboard and behind the driver. The carpet held 2-3" of water for days before I noticed it. (10 total while trying to dry myself and waiting on the dealer) I'm hoping that's the only area to leak and that it was repaired properly. I'm still waiting for the dealer and Jeep to contact me if they will replace the carpet. Waiting and waiting!! The dealer did not dry my carpet or the pad at all. I had to do that myself with fans and blow dryers for days. I guess they thought if they put it back down I wouldn't notice. They didn't even remove the seat to check for any further damage to electrical or to dry. I'm hoping I don't have any future electrical problems with my new purchase. Currently, I'm having the Jeep inspected by my insurance and a second opinion from another Jeep dealer. As long as I know there is no future damage and that Jeep will stand behind replacing the carpet if needed, I still feel I made a good purchase. Out of all the suv's I looked at, the 2016 Cherokee was the most comfortable and easiest to handle.

Great Midsize SUV at an affordable price.
I love this Jeep but it has had problems. Within the first year, the entire air compressor unit went out had to replace it. Also, a cylinder stopped working and needed new spark plugs and maintenance on malfunctions. It is too bad it is falling apart mechanically within a year. Note that if you get the 4 cylinder the acceleration is terrible.

Oil Unknown Issues
I purchased the oil changes for 100k miles and random when doing a left turn or right turn the Jeep died. This happened many times took to dealer got the transmission updated it needed. However it didn't stop. Next time the oil was bone dry and I was 1k miles before I was supposed to get an oil change. The gave me an override and covered it. So...I had it happen again! Went to auto zone got oil and added so I would not have an accident with the car dying while turning. So it was happening again! But thought it was time for oil change. Added one quart and took it in, now 1300 miles before approved oil change. Why is the Jeep using so much oil? One month the email reported 40% oil left, next month 25%. So this is an issue??? Sure this is not normal and the dealership can't find a "problem"

DON'T PURCHASE!!
This vehicle is equipped with an electric transmission. I've been having problems with this vehicle less than a year after purchasing it. It's hesitant when accelerating and will "kick back" if you brake abruptly and then proceed to accelerate. My car has been in the shop several times on this issue. PLEASE read reviews about the transmission before you consider purchasing this vehicle.
