Don't Buy a JEEP CHEROKEE 2015
I bought my daughter a Jeep Cherokee Limited 2015 in Feb. loaded with every extra including Blind Spot, Lane Assit. 6 cyl. u name it. Beginning of Sept. at 5000 miles the Transmission Failed while she was driving up steep hill where she lives- The Berkeley Hills, Berkeley Ca. It suddenly lost power, red lights began to flash on dash. Luckily after braking and turning it off and restarting with no change , she put on Emergency Brake and jumped out. She then had more problems with the dealership, taking it in. Eventually, I- her mother- had to get involved (I do not live in the area) and make a number of calls to Sales people at the Daly City dealership where I bought the car. None of this went well. She was able to have the car towed a week later to the Berkeley, dealership where they diagnosed the problem: Transmission Failure and replaced the transmission and updated the software. They handled the situation well but now the car Lurches forward, out of the blue. Both these problems have been noted in complaints to NHTSA, Automotive News and other Internet forums. If my daughter's car had continued to roll backwards, she could have gone off a Canyon road, down a ravine.

Decent SUV, but...
I bought this on a whim after having my '08 Wrangler blow up on me. I needed a vehicle and needed it now. I opted for the Latitude package with the 6cyl and 2wd. First impressions were good comfy, stylish I liked it. Over time though the transmission began acting strange and the check engine light was on. Long story short I'm now at 20k miles, after about 7 trips to the dealer the check light is still on and transmission is annoying at best. Software updates have done nothing it still shifts abruptly and randomly sometimes winding up between gears or slamming into gear so hard it jolts the whole vehicle. Dealer service is another matter (not good) so I'm stuck with a jerky transmission with very questionable long term reliability and a plummeting resale value. I would not recommend. Which is too bad because the rest of the vehicle is fine.

TOO MANY RECALLS
I bought the Jeep Cherokee Latitude in September 2015, the 1st recall was not a recall, a transmission line from the engine to transmission ( the car was sitting in my driveway ) my wife went out to go to the store, all the transmission oil was on the ground. I was told by the dealer that a "O" ring kit was blown (sitting ). since that time i have eight other recalls, now i have the 9th one, all this has taken place in one year, this just too much, i have had it, i am at my wits end. what can i do??????????????

My LAST Chrysler product
We purchased a 2015 Jeep Cherokee 3.2L V6 with the 9sp transmission in May of this year. At 10,700 miles it has started exhibiting transmission issues. The Check Engine light and the Service Stop/Start System Telltale light came on. The vehicle went into "limp mode" and would only do 35 miles per hour. I was on a major highway and had to pull off the road. The rpm's were elevated. I managed to nurse it home (only 3 miles) and called the dealership. (which is 46 miles from my home) I was told that it was "OK" to drive the vehicle to them. I declined. It never would have made it. The dealership refused to have it towed to them and suggested that I take it to another dealership in town. I once again declined and used my own AAA service to get it towed to them. They had the car for 2 1/2 days (they did provide me with a rental) and told me that it had a software update that needed to be performed per a service notice and test drove it for 10 miles to see if the lights would come back on. (I was skeptical because I had already started reading all of the BAD reviews) I have driven it 83 miles and both lights are back on. I purchased this vehicle because I was replacing a Town and Country Mini Van that we had for over 8 years because it was becoming unreliable......I have a "new" car that is already proving to be a LEMON. I will update this as my journey continues. **** update **** This Jeep went into the shop again. This time I was told it had a defective transmission, they were going to replace it under warranty. after two weeks I had to call for an update, it seems they installed a new transmission (#2) from FCA but it was the same series of transmission and they were about to call me but were alerted to the ooops. Another transmission (#3) was sent and it was installed. In appx 110 miles, same issue happened. They towed it back, we got the same rental (under the warranty, we HAD to drive a jeep product while ours was in for work). In a nutshell, they installed transmissions #4 & #5 in the course of less than 16 weeks. The jeep was in the shop a total over 40 days for the transmission. We initiated "lemon law" proceedings and in a few short weeks, FCA was required to buy the jeep back from us (minus a mileage usage allowance). So while I consider ourselves lucky in that respect, we have decided, we can no longer afford to buy Chrysler. The quality we had come to expect over the years (three generations) is just not there anymore. even if the transmission had been a good component, the jeep was far less than one would expect from this legendary brand. 3rd and final update. Jeep is now FCA problem. they bought it back from us (thank you NC lemon law). We have no plans on buying another Chrysler product. Since this "review", we have purchased a Nissan truck to replace the Cherokee. So far there have been zero issues. edmunds is asking me to "update" this review.... the only thing i can say is that we are still very adamant about not purchasing another chrysler or fiat product. 4th joke : edmonds doesn't know we ditched that POS almost two years ago now lol !!!! We did how ever get a pretty good deal on a new mid package ford explorer ($27,000 out the door!). we have had ZERO issue in any way with this vehicle. Now, this is a car i will recommend. i did see that FCA had to recall a few hundred thousand vehicles, again. so you buy them at your own peril.

Transmission breakdown
Bought a new Jeep Cherokee 2015 Ltd FWD putting in 4293 miles.Recalled for the 1st month of owning it for a P56 Recall(Tranny reprogram).2 months after, the engine check light turned-on with only over 1000 miles on it.Brought it back to a dealer to have it check and only restarted the fault and dealer informed me, it should good.On its 4th month owning it, it happened again with transmission temp. going over 258Deg with a 7 error codes according from an OBD II.Brought it to the closes dealer and was told that they had to order a new transmission. Up to now, still waiting for it to get fix.Called the Jeep Co. and ask for a replacement.Jeep cant give me an answer until it is fix.Disappointing!
