Defective Jeep
I've always loved Jeeps until I purchased this Jeep cherokee. It has caused me nothing but issues. I've had it in the shop multiple times for the same transmission issues and the service dept comes back saying we updated the software and it's working great now...give it a week and it's back to the same as before I brought it in. Every recall that has been issued has happened to my Jeep. I have 29000 miles on this vehicle and have broken down 5 times. I tried to trade it in but the value of the car has gone down significantly due to the issues I'm having a terrible time getting rid of it. Unfortunately this Jeep is terrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. I'm at the point now that I have no other choice but contacting a lawyer.

loved this car until a tree impaled and totaled it
This is the nicest car I've ever owned. Very reliable, comfortable, stable on roads - back roads, dirt roads, and highway. Got me through a lot of snow this past winter - even the husband was impressed with how well it handled in snow and was disappointed he couldn't play and make it slide. It looks good and can go from class to sass in no time. I now have almost 18,000 miles on it in 16 months and am very happy. No car is perfect but this beats all my previous and there have been many. **Update - I know have almost 40,000 miles on my Cherokee and no issues, still loving this car! Last year hubby got a remote start installed for Christmas, best way to make this car even better. I can't ask for more. :) *** as of 8/1/2017 i no longer have this car, a tree at work fell on it and impaled it through the dash completely totaling it. i cried. this was my favorite car ever. if you can get one, do it, you won't be sorry!

DO NOT BUY THIS RAGGEDY CAR
Update: 7/20/2014 After my original post, the transmission started acting up again. I ended up suing Daimler Chrysler. Hired a Lemon Law Attorney who got me out of this Jeep. They bought it back under TX Lemon Law regulations. Car was paid off and I returned it to the dealership and went to Ford and bought an Explorer. They also covered my attorneys fees. Back experience that ended well. Original post: I bought this car just over a year ago. When on the test drive I noticed it was shifting hard. The salesperson told me, "oh that's NORMAL". I shrugged it off because after speaking with her I went and talked to the service technician who told me the hard shifting was normal for this particular vehicle and it would cease once it adjusted to the way I drove the car. I'm not mechanically inclined at all when it comes to cars but that response sounded absurd. But, I got a SUPER GREAT DEAL and bought it anyway. After having it for a few months, I took it in because the hard shifting had gotten worse. (Love Field Jeep Chrysler Dodge) They told me it was something minor and the issue was fixed. After about a month, I started to feel the hard shifting issue again and I before I could take it in, I received a recall notice in the mail. I took it in again and they "reset this" and "adjusted that" and they told me it would be fine. And, for about a week, it was. I took it in for the 3rd time and the service advisor called me after a couple of days and said, "we have to replace your transmission". They kept the car for a couple of weeks and when I got it back, the problem was finally fixed. BUT....about a month later, the car started dying while I was driving it. It would die, hesitate to start, start, die again, and finally it would stay running. After about 2 weeks of this I finally took it back to the shop to have it looked at. They kept it for a couple of days and then called me to say that they're having to REPLACE THE ENGINE!!!! Something about leaking valves engine compression...yadda, yadda, yadda!!!! The only good thing about this experience is that the service technician is a cutie!!! Other than that, DO NOT BUY THIS RAGGEDY CAR!!!!!

Total Regret 2014 Jeep Cherokee
My husband and I purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee in April of 2016. It had about 34,000 miles on it. We started having issues in July. The vehicle would experience complete loss of power, and the transmission wouldn't downshift when you went downhill. The dealership said this was happening due to low oil - even though my dashboard showed 30% oil life remaining. Fast forward to October. We drove the Jeep out of town for a wedding. We were driving home on a Sunday, and attempted to merge onto the interstate. My husband accelerated, and the Jeep suddenly stopped accelerating and warning lights came on the dashboard. Luckily, we made it home. I called the dealership on 10/24 and brought my Jeep out there. On the drive to the dealership, I experience complete loss of power while in traffic. I ended up having to use the 'Towing Assistance' feature (which works wells by the way). It is now November 14th. I've been in contact with Chrysler and the dealership. The vehicle needs a new engine, plus they're taking care of the transmission recall. Going to request a buyback at this point. I don't trust the Jeep brand any longer.
2014 Cherokee Trailhawk 3.2 v6 24 valve 9spd
I have had my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk for exactly 1 year ,I have put nearly 9,000 miles on it and had zero problems. The 3.2 24 valve V6 seems to have more positive reviews than the 4 cyl ,to me its an suv with trail rated off road capabilities you need the V6 power ,when you switch from normal to sport for more aggressive driving it basically turns into a 5 speed and has a ton of power ,regular driving I use the 9 speed auto and get great fuel mileage ,every where I go I get comments on it ,the way it looks the way the V6 sounds the leather dash seats ,wheel etc its an awesome ride and I traded in my grand Cherokee overland w/V8 hemi !Would take Trailhawk hands down over the grand
Great vehicle except transmission.
Everything about the Cherokee is great aside from the 9spd transmission. Good fuel economy, good handling, comfortable, etc. The transmission is good but finicky. It doesn't like downshifting and has debatable reliability.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited FWD
I needed a mid-size family SUV and did a ton of research. I opted for a fully loaded Cherokee Limited with luxury/convenience/UConnect/V6 package. This is the only vehicle in its class where I really liked the blend of exterior and interior design. The ride is very comfortable, ventilated seats work like a charm especially since I live in Phoenix and the temperatures are 100+ degrees six months out of the year. The dash board is simple yet offers a ton of features and is veary easy to use. The navigation is excellent, satellite radio, all that. I loaded all my music on a 64GB SD card.
Poor Quality and Reliability
My Jeep is now just over 3 months old (4k miles) and has visited the dealership with major problems twice. First, the transmission shifts in low gears are terrible; not what you would expect from a new vehicle. A software updated reduced, but did not fix the issue. Second, the electrical system in the car is suspect. It went haywire on me. The windshield wipers turned on and couldn't be stopped, the turn signals went out and the odometer was flashing non-stop. Of course, by the time I reached the dealership it was asymptomatic, so I was basically told, to bad, bring it back broken. Hopefully next time the electrical goes out nothing more serious occurs. Buyer beware on this vehicle.
Never Again
I purchased a used 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 3.2L and in less than 2 years of owning it I've had several major repairs done. As of today, the car has $99,000 miles on it (I purchased it with $65,000 miles on it) and I have had the following repairs done in the 20 months that I've owned the car...strut mounts (replaced twice) and struts, rear shift deferential replaced (one month after purchasing the car), left rear axle replaced and was told today that I now need a new transfer case for the transmission. My car has had about $4000 worth or repairs done in the less than 2 years that I have owned it. I have been fortunate that all but about $650 worth were covered under warranty, but covered or not, there is no reason I should need these types of major repairs done with less than $100,000 miles on the vehicle. I will NEVER again purchase another Jeep product. Complete waste of my time and money! **Update: I ended up getting rid of my Cherokee and purchased a new 2019 Toyota 4-Runner which I love and more importantly, can depend on, unlike that hunk of junk Cherokee.

Owned many Jeeps...this is the best!
I love my new Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Limited. It is the 6 cylinder engine and has plenty of power. It seemed a little on the expensive side at the time of purchase but now I couldn't be happier. The fit and finish is great. The leather interior looks rich. I have the blue and brown leather. The transmission is very smooth, and although it took some getting used to, I really like the design of the exterior.

Need replaced often!

Limited V6
We purchased a Limited V6 with the Tow Package, Technology Group, & the Luxury Group. My wife and I love this vehicle. It is very comfortable and has plenty of power. The 9-speed transmission is smooth. The ventilated seats are slightly more comfortable than the standard seats - they feel a little like the Grand Cherokee's seats. The vehicle is quiet & well built. The technology group works well. We were concerned about storage space, but there is way more than you think, especially when you put the seats down. Front and rear leg and head room are very generous. On the highway it averages 28.5 mpg, but on some long trips we have averaged 32 mpg (Florida to Chicago and back), & in mixed driving it averages 20 to 22 mpg. We have had a number of recalls, but that is expected on a first year production. We have also had a few issues with the navigation system, but the dealer replaced the unit and everything is fine now. My big issue is that the cup holders are too tight, not so good for Styrofoam cups. Other than that, I highly recommend this vehicle, it is well thought out, reliable, and fun to drive.

"No Show Customer Service" by Jeep
Vehicle has lost power 3 times. Had towed to dealership due to Recall S55, Transaxle Wire Harness. This began 8/28/16 and the car is undrivable. It is now 9/16 an Jeep has no replacement parts available yet! Had to rent a car.Don't expect custome service from this manufacurer!

Apparently no option for a V6 Trailhawk review...
So this is what I have. I love it so far but only have about 500 miles on it. Like I said, I love it, it drives great, love the uConnect system. Keep that in mind as I will only list my gripes so far here. The A Pillar is very big, so gauging traffic to the left and turning and/or pulling into traffic takes some getting used to. The throttle is really sensitive. Takes some time to get used to it. Also, the steering is very boosted at slow speeds; more weighted otherwise. I prefer a direct and consistent response, but that's my preference. I also wish the tilt/telescoping steering was a little more adjustable. It doesn't go low enough for me. But a great vehicle so far.
Crap-o-kee
DO NOT BUY THIS SUV! I have made a lot of good financial decisions in my life...this was not one of them. I regretted the purchase the moment I took it home. In fact; I tried to return the car within the 48 hour return window. They talked me into keeping this lemon by taking another $1,000 off the price and re-worked the financing. So I reluctantly took this jalopy home again...that was two years ago. Since then...6 trips to the dealership service department. (I'm talking about the first two years of a brand NEW car)...not including oil changes. New transmission, recall, recall, bad injector ($460, not covered under powertrain warranty), another recall on brakes, bad coil - not covered....I cannot write anymore, I am getting to upset! This car is about to go...I am going to gladly take a $3,000 hit to get out of this heal on wheels. First and ONLY domestic car I will ever buy. STAY AWAY FROM JEEP!!!

Can't drive a Cherokee at night
When one buys a car. It is test driven during the day. The headlights are so bad on the Cherokee I keep the headlights on high beam all the time all the time and still cannot see more than 30'. On coming cars do not flash me to dim the headlights.

Lucky to be alive
When you come to a brief stop the transmission would not downshift any lower than 3rd gear. So when pulling out in traffic that was dangerous. I took my complaint to the dealer and they said they drove the same model jeep on their lot and it did the same thing so there was nothing wrong with it. I was the passenger in an accident. Wish I had read the jeep reviews before buying because a lot of people have this same complaint.

Cherokee at 4000 miles
First and foremost I have been a jeep guy for several decades so I do like the product. This is my 8th Jeep and my Trailhawk replaced my beloved 2006 Liberty CRD that was mint at 100,000 I must say! The Cherokee has exceeded my expectations in all ways...the car is fun to drive the V-6 has a ton of power the MPG are over 20 all the times. I have had zero issues over the first 4000 miles, I took it in for the lastest transmission flash but I was not having any issues or problems. The best vehicle in its class for sure, a little on the procey side when you get it loaded up and I do not like the 15.5 gallon gas tank that is filled from the right side. Great vehicle in all aspects.
Jeep Sucks!
Car still has transmission issues. Putting a full tank of gas into it now makes it stall out. Not kidding.

Never again!
We bought a low serial number 2014 Jeep Cherokee with the V6 and Active Drive II 4WD. The Jeep looked nice and handled really well on the test drive. It came semi-stripped with manual seats, no nav, and no backup camera, but had the low range 4WD and heated seats, mirrors, and ,my wife's favorte part, a heated steering wheel. Having had a 1996 Grand Cherokee for over 300,000 miles we decided to give this one a try. Well Jeep has made a wrong turn with this one. Instead of the reliable simple 1996 ZJ, this XK Jeep is horrible. The overly complicated 9 speed transmission has been in the shop six times now for updates and repairs. The infotainment system can be hacked and used to take over the throttle, steering, and brakes. I mean come on, who connects the radio to the steering? The 4WD system is not up to par either. I took it on the lawn to drop off a smal tree I had bought and it got stuck! on level grass! The factory tires came off the next day and better ones were fitted, but it will still spin the tires in the wet and that is with the traction controls on!. The transmission shifts like a 16 year old learning to drive stick, the gas mileage is averaging 21 and not hte 30 they claimed. SInce my 1996 ZJ got an average of 19, I do not see what benefit the new 9 speed is giving. In fact it does not shift into 8 until you hit 70 and I have never gotten it into 9 which is only from 100 and up - Believe me nobody wants to drive this at 100mph. The visibliity is horrible out the back due to the styling and you cannot see the front of the car either. This makes this Jeep not really off-roadable. If you buy one you will need the backup camera or get used to backing up using your mirrors. On the plus side, the seats fold easily and the space once they are down is pretty large. the controls are pretty well placed and easy to use and since it has a push-pull shifter you can go through the gears yourself, which is smoother than letting the transmission shift for itself. It looks nice and the oil filter is on top of the engine making it real easy to replace it, which you will be doing alot since even with synthetic oil it seems to get dirty around 3000 miles. The power from the 3.2 six is nice at 272HP. I was told by somebody about somethign else, but it applies here. It looks great, is horrible to operate and breaks down often. What do you expect, it is Italian. Basing this Jeep off of an Alfa SUV was a mistake. I wonder if the new Renegade, which is based off of a FIAT is just as bad... To make matters worse, all thoughout this Jeep are things like a silhouette of a WWII Jeep MB on the windshield, the words Jeep, since 1941 on the steering wheel, and the Jeep grille/headlights logo stamped on random things under the hood, which is funny since the grill of the XK looks nothing like that of a MB/CJ I am going to be looking for a 2003-2004 Grand Cherokee Overland - a REAL JEEP to replace this.

Trailhawk 6cyl loaded
I traded my Subaru 3.6R wagon after it blew a head gasket after 60,000mi. I decided to try the new Cherokee and I was not disapointed. I can say I've had Chevys, Subarus, Hondas and Nissans and this is the first vehicle I can honestly say I can't find anything I dont' like about it. The performance and comfort are amazing and I love the front to back sunroof. Off road handling is Jeep Trail Rated and does not disapoint. Love my Hawk!
Excellent Vehicle
Cherokee Latitude V6 4 x 4 bought early June 2014, currently with 6000 miles on it. This has been a very nice vehicle, keeping my wife happy (replacing a totaled Caravan) with enough space for a reasonable amount of hauling in town. We generally drive it on road trips, also. Don't overlook that this really is a Jeep, a little heavier than otherwise would be the case, but you find the advantages when driving over rough roads, as it just glides along where most cars would be shaking themselves to pieces. MPG is great on the highway, up to 27 mpg, with excellent merging acceleration for on-ramps. Cornering is good, also. The 8.4 inch touch screen is easy to read and works well. Update June 2016: At 26,000 miles the Cherokee is now getting roughly 28-31 mpg on the highway at 75 mph. We have done the navigation update (remotely adds navigation to the existing 8 inch display), and it works well, though it's not cheap. The vehicle has been at the dealership for several recall updates and replacement of an oil pressure sensor, all at no cost and none of it causing any difficulties to us in driving. We still think the Cherokee is a winner. My wife (primary driver) particularly likes the forward visibility and maneuverability. Comfort/convenience features like power liftgate and heated seats/steering wheel are favorites for her also. Update June 2017. Now 38,000 miles with a couple of more recalls done but nothing that has caused driving difficulties or stranded us. Repairs to power liftgate latch under warranty about six months ago, no cost to us. We will get new tires before next winter just to be prudent, but there's still a reasonable amount of tread left. Update December 2017. Now 44,000 miles. No additional repairs. Original tires were replaced at 41,700 miles. They no longer had enough tread to be safe for driving in snow though they were OK for other use. Update June 2018. 47,500 miles. No problems. Update December 2018. 58,000 miles. No problems. Update June 2019./ 63,000 miles. No problems. Update November 2019. 71,000 miles. Sold. It was still going strong with 90% of brake life left. Battery replaced a few months earlier. No other repairs. Replaced with a 2020 Cherokee with auto braking and similar assistive driving features.. BTW, our Cherokee is the 3.2 liter V6, not the 4 cylinder.

had a great drive
The new Jeep Cherokee is something I'll recommend to all SUV enthusiasts. I bought it a ear ago from Repokar car auction for a good price and had a great experience driving it. Now I am selling it because I've owned another model. But this jeep has an unbelievable style. This item is a must to get.
DO NOT BUY THIS CAR
Note: 3.2 V6 After my initial sparkling review of this car, a new transmission had to be put in at 44k miles. Need I say more? Traded it in at 46k for a 2013 BMW 535xi because quite frankly my confidence in it was shot. Lost about $4000. Thanks FCA!!!! 🙄

Love this cherokee
my wife & I wasn't fans of the front end design but all it took was a test drive to forget about that! it stickered $31,380 minus the rebate you CAN NOT go wrong it had the features we wanted & nothing we didn't. we traded our loaded challenger rallye sst and it beats that car in comfort and drivability alone! the dealership was 102 miles away we got 31 mpg, storage space is everywhere, the manual passenger seat is comfortable, the upgraded Uconnect 8.4a is user friendly not to mention the electronic dash, the gas gauge :( cant tell if its at 3/4 or 1/4 tank. BUT we've only had it 2 days and 3x's its had trouble starting not for sure why only got 165 miles on it. didn't like NO CD player.
basically a nice car but some maddening quirks
First, I have the Trailhawk with the Pentastar V6--this site won't let me enter that model--not the 4 cylinder. I like the car so far; it drives and handles well, I get up to 30 mpg on the highway (but much less than 20 mpg in the city), the visibility is fine except for the very thick front window posts, and the safety features are fine. The backup camera has the best implementation of any backup camera I have seen. It seems very capable offroad, but I dislike that you can only choose among different 4WD programs instead of choosing how you want the 4WD to work myself. But it has some weird quirks that are really irritating, and the lack of cargo space--a victim of its exterior design--is a bit bothersome. The ground clearance is inadequate but it's competitors are worse--or at least not better. Now i've owned the vehicle for 20 months or so and still like it a lot but all the quirks mentioned above do bother me a bit. Also the emergency flasher button is placed so that whenever you use the UConnect touch screen you accidentally activate it. And to open the gas cap you have to open the door and get out of the car to see and press the button. But still I am pleased with the vehicle and enjoy driving it. Now it's three years, and really I don't have anything to add. All the good is still good, the cargo space and ground clearance still are inadequate (interesting that the newly redesigned Jeep Compass, supposedly smaller, has more cargo volume, but a smaller gas tank, which is a deal breaker for me). The update from UConnect was a disaster. All my saved items--radio stations, waypoints, etc.--were deleted; the car wouldn't even run at first after the update, and the guidance voice for the nav system went from being crisp and clear to much less understandable, I suspect in the interests of "feminizing" or even "humanizing" the voice. Bad, bad, bad,

16 Months of Fun and Comfort and then DISASTER
With nearly 40,000 miles on the clock and a wide range of road experiences behind us now, we LOVE this car! Our jeep turns heads with its great looks and fits into any parking lot next to Mercedes or Lexus models. However, the knowing looks of other owners betrays that they are aware our Jeep is much more capable. The all wheel drive system seems seamless as we negotiate icy, twisty roads, deep sand or even deep snow. We continue to rack up carefree miles and truly enjoy our ownership experience. The few times we have needed Jeep support it has been there in first class style. We look forward to many more years of this love affair exploring the country. Well, that was then.UPDATE: We have since had the unhappy experience of tens of thousands of other owners who have had the complete transmission fail leave them stranded in dangerous spots. This happened to us a total of 5 times! We knew we were in real trouble when the Arbitrator was in the dealership trying to resolve the dispute with other owners on our last 2 visits to the service department. And I must say we felt lucky in our dealership experience; at least they were open and honest about the issue and as helpful as they could be. I have read and heard numerous reports of others being nearly completely abandoned by their dealer, who just took a hard line "tough s*%t" attitude with them. But, Jeep controls the repair process and it is long, tedious and will repeatedly put you in harms way. The last time we got stuck with a dead transmission was in the middle of a busy highway. Very Very scary situation. The transmission fail issue on this car HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. Many many people have opted for full trans replacement, but I have not heard a single one have confidence that this was truly a long term fix. More like they are just waiting for the new trans to start having the same fail. Face it, you buy a Jeep brand product in the expectation of at least occasionally taking it to a remote location. Otherwise you would settle for a different brand. With the prospect of complete transmission failure this becomes a serious risk if you are 50 or 100 miles from nearest help. Not acceptable. We wound up having to trade this in on a lightly used Grand Cherokee Overland. This was not an ideal solution by any means, but got us out of this dangerous vehicle in the best way we could.

Beware of this Car
Could not keep it on the road. The Transmission is horrible and breaks down every week. New Transmission put in at 26,000Miles and kept having same issues with the vehicle. Slamming into gear, slow acceleration. Terrible Vehicle, worst vehicle I have ever owned. Also head lights only show forward range, not peripheral meaning, if you are on a dark country road or a road without many lights on it, you cannot see where you are turning in to. So you can turn into a ditch if the road or driveway does not have an attached curb on the sides.

2014 Cherokee Latitude
This vehicle has never been one that we have enjoyed. The lease was expensive as the car had a residual of around 52% after 36 months. My son was anxious to get the car, so we reluctantly did so. Bad move. The car has been taken to the dealership quite a few times with problems, besides the 7 or more company recalls. The vehicle has always "lunged/jerk" when you initially press on the pedal. The dealership has never been able to fix this. The recalls get fixed late as the Jeep is always out of the parts to fix these recalls. I would never suggest to anyone to buy this car. I am grateful I leased it and happy to turn it in shortly.

OMG NO!
The first week we got it, the engine shut off while we were driving. We had it towed to Chrysler and they said it was fine there was nothing wrong. Now fast forward I was driving and (this all happens out of the blue.) Anyways i was driving going to turn and the engine shuts off I almost get hit luckily the person behind was able to stop. So now I'm stuck, I end up putting the jeep Cherokee in park and turning off I sat in the street for maybe ten minutes. Started it up it started shaking really bad the engine light was, the parking light was on, I start driving it again, won't go over 30mp it shuts off again and I only went maybe 2 miles and I almost got hit again. I get it start again now it jerking and shaking like crazy won't go over 20 won't shift. I had to go up some hill it had some issues but I'm trying my hardest to get this this thing home once I get past some stop signs it won't go over 15mp I get it home. I get a hold of the guy we got it from we says bring it down it the am so now it's morning. I go and start it up everything's fine right. Nope I go to back up it dies, then starts up I go to drive to get to the end of the street then it starts jerking back at forth and dies.

Long Term Owner
This is our 5th Jeep. It had 2 recalls. Never has stranded or failed us in the 34,000 miles we have had it. The transmission at first was a little off, every time we had an oil change our dealer would check it and update. Each time it got better and works fine. We had a sunroof rattle at 21,000 miles. It was fixed under warranty same day. We have a FWD version with the 2.4 4 cyl. It gets great mileage as our metro area is dense and in traffic all of the time. We get 22 in the city in our traffic impressive, it has been on a few long road trips it averages 32. The Cherokee very comfortable has a nicer interior than most of its class. The leather quality is better than our BMW 328i! Update: We are now over 43,000 miles no other issues. Transmission is smooth, shifts perfectly, would buy another hands down. Update: now at 53,000 miles tires were replaced. Transmission has been updated. Still runs well and very happy with this vehicle. Update : at 67,000 miles, still runs great. No other issues other than normal maintenance.

Yeah...But No
Was so excited to get my new Jeep Cherokee. One month in, the car started shuddering heavily and pulling as I was driving down the road. The dashboard looked like a NASA lunar launch mission it was so lit up. Then the damn thing just...stopped. In traffic. Had it towed to the dealer. They couldn't find anything. Same thing happens again a couple of weeks later. Same result. A month later, I get locked inside the car. Yes--inside. Can't open the doors, the windows, nothing. Tow comes (3 hours, thank you Jeep Roadside Assistance), and again "nothing." Then the car started vibrating and shaking. Now the diagnosis was "transmission problems." Each time, the service took longer and longer, and it never got fixed. Each time = 5 times. And through all of this, I had to deal with the abysmal service through Chrysler Customer Care and their dealers, who are surly and condescending. Imagine calling for a service problem with a safety issue and being told that they have an appointment 9 days away. Yup--that happened. At first, I thought this was an isolated instance: my car was just a bad car. But after I did a little investigation, I discovered that these issues were known Jeep issues, especially the shaking and the transmission problems. Do yourself a favor and stay away. 2016 Update: unloaded this POS in July. It had 4 recalls in one year. Couldn't be happier with my new Lexus. 'Nuff said.

Latitude V6 - Very Nice
Purchased a 2014 Latitude V6 with the 8.4A screen, added the Nav upgrade and the 9 speaker/sub/amp option. Also splurged for the V6. This was purchased for my teenage daughter, so when shopping for a small/mid SUV, coolness was definitely at the top of the list. This was the only SUV that she liked and we looked at the Escape, CRV, Rogue, Rav4, CX-5. In her eyes, none of them matched the design or styling that appealed to my teenager. I was a little disappointed that the only way to get a rearview camera, garage door buttons and a n auto-dimming rearview mirror was to upgrade to a $2000 package. I remember when these were standard features on a mid-level trim vehicle.
2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude V6 FWD
I purchased this vehicle a couple weeks back and I already have near 2000 miles on the vehicle. This past week I drove it to West Virginia from Georgia. Three adults and a fully packed cab, I still managed to get around 30 to 31 mpg on the highway. Handled exceptionally well in snow and dry land. Jeep did a great job with the interior design not to mention the comfort. The stitching seems high quality as well as everything about the vehicle. I have the factory base sound system and it seems to sound just as good as the upgraded speakers. The center console display is very easy to manage and is well placed. I am very pleased with the overall performance of the vehicle. Highly recommend it.
Trailhawk is Amazing
Bought one of the first Trailhawks that came to Southern California, after harassing the plethora of jeep dealerships on a daily basis and even insisting on a deposit which they couldn't do due to the many delays that plagued the cherokee in the beginning to middle of last year 2013, Shaver Jeep in Thousand Oaks came through in November. It's now March and couldn't be happier. I didn't want the pricier Tech option, but I couldn't wait anymore, so I got the top of the Line Fully loaded V6 with every option available, sticker was around 41,900. Own a cabin in the mountains also, so it does come in handy
Phenomenal Job Chrysler
There is no doubt that this Jeep is the most well Engineered Vehicle, well thought, built with perfection, designed with excellence, has great comfort and great performance. This Jeep will take you about anywhere you want to go. I truly believe that there is not and automobile on the market today from any automaker that has produced such an outstanding vehicle as the Jeep trailHawk. My TrailHawk gets excellent gas mileage, a very smooth ride, and the performance is great. It is my perception that this is the best vehicle of its kind on the road today.
Jeep girl at heart
I drove a Jeep Cherokee as a teenager, and after the disappointing performance of my last vehicle, was excited to trade up. It is comfortable, performs well both schlepping me back and forth to work and tooling through the hills. The technology features are a comfort when off the beaten path, and the panoramic roof brings all of the great outdoors in no matter what the season or weather. For once, I am excited about traveling back and forth between Idaho and Montana this winter.
Hello happy mileage!
I started reading Edmunds.com's reviews a while ago, deciding between Mazda CX-5 & Cherokee, i am happy with my choice, is super comfortable and full of details as they claim, i switched from Jeep Liberty (3.7 V6) to the V4 and mileage is great, granted is that the V4 does not performs nor sounds as my old V6 did but my main concern was gas mileage so to me is a fair trade, tested the VW Tiguan Turbo and seems a more powerful V4 than Cherokee but overall car is no comparison at all. If you are looking for super performance probably the V6 will respond better to that need, design which seemed hideous on pictures quite frankly grows in me easy and love that sets it apart.
Transmission Issues
In for my second transmission @ 12,000 miles on my new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude V6. They have had my car for over a week now and still don't know when they will have a new transmission to install. Updated 3/16 - Chrysler bought my car back for MSRP - Ordered the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude V6 and have not any issues since I received the new car. Have about 23000 miles and running good.

Consider putting one of these in your driveway
Purchased a low mileage 6 cylinder Trailhawk with all the bells and whistles. We are extremely happy with this vehicle. Ride, fit, finish with attention to detail are impressive. Very comfortable all around. Storage behind the seats is a bit cramped. We have owned (currently) several mid level Mercedes products as well as Infiniti, Acura, BMW, Range Rover, (and Jeep). Not as luxurious as an Range Rover but detail finish is pretty close, impressive ride and quiet with off-road ability, and less operating cost. Interior seems more durable than BMW. Front is a bit odd style wise no more so than Lexus or Audi gaping mouth style but outstanding cars just the same. We have had zero transmission problems but this had been addressed by the previous owner. I would have been upset if I had just purchased new and had to get to the dealer several times to correct problems. Tires are starting to get noisy at 48k miles but still look like they will last for another 25. No significant interior wear, no significant squeaks or rattles. Most of our MB and Infiniti service experiences were positive not as much for jeep. Most of the Japanese brands we had problems were unsolveable transmission related and ALL should have had recalls but the press seems to ignore customer complaints. At least The JEEP brand addresses and corrects problems in an open manner. They should build an SRT model. already have driven 30k + miles with zero issues and has been our primary vehicle.

Love My Jeep!
Currently at 14k miles no major issues. Transmission takes awhile to break in and can still be a bit jerry but nothing big, the software updates helped. I only have the 4x4 with active drive I but this little jeep tames the trails like nothing! Took it up a terrible 5 mile dirt trail to a cabin through mud, snow and ice and was scared wouldn't make it up the mountain but it sure did! No loss of traction or control and plenty of clearance. I was amazed. Putting into manual definitely helps and is a great feature along with snow mode. No chains needed and I just have the stock all season Le 2 tires. City driving is good but sometimes sluggish on acceleration with the little 4 cylinder but hugs the road and fun to drive. Big enough for me, the 3 kids and the dogs. Comfortable and stylish. Love it and am definitely a loyal jeep patron!

Best Vehicle I've ever owned
Wow after reading all the bad reviews of this vehicle I guess the stars and planets all lined up when ours was built. Our V6 Trailhawk is a early build model Dec 2013. The only issues we've had was a water pump that squealed and a sunroof rattle. Both were fixed under warranty. I've had all the transmission updates done. It shifts very smooth. Yes there are few recalls which is not surprising being that's it's a new model first year build. Other than that it's been very reliable. I have over 40k miles, taken it off road several times. I participated in two Jeep Jamborees. I pushed it really hard. It came through totally unscathed. I'm really impressed with the versatility of this vehicle. It can tow 4500 lbs, great comfort, latest technology, and excellent off road capability. It's possible that many of the negative reviews on here are a vocal crowd that have had bad luck with their vehicles. Hopefully most other owners have had better luck and do not participate in writing reviews. Of course if I had all the issues that others had on here I would be just as vocal and extremely unhappy with my vehicle. I just hope ours is not a fluke.

Nice vehicle but no heat on passengers side. Cold feet!
I really like my jeep. Deciphers comfortably and good fuel economy. We have gone into the service dept. dodge summit Fredericton NB on two occasions and both times they said their computer was broke and couldn't complete the upgrade. Problem with Bluetooth connection and salt elite radio reception. My biggest compliant is that poor heat on the passengers side. My freeze all the time, but the drivers side is toasty warm. Service Center said there wasn't anything wrong. The vent for the heat is literally 2 inch in diameter.
More acidic than any lemon ive ever had
Riddled with issues since I purchased the car (new). Half of the luxury features (lane sense, adaptive cruise control) stopped working within the first year. The dealership was never able to fix it. By the end of year 1, the 4x4 would not work and the transmission began to become very rough. Multiple recalls and the transmission is still terrible. The fuel pump and line went bad in year 4. At year 5, the 4x4 transfer box and CV Joint become unusable. The vehicles has always been garage keep, maintained, and only used on the beach for 4x4 (two times). It has 62000 miles and is one issue after another.

Stay away from it!
Mine is a 2014 latitude....yes, beautiful and perfect the inside....but totally unreliable! I bought mine with only 22k miles, when it started hitting the 30k miles problems started. Firts a recall for transmission, then, all in a sudden while driving NO BRAKES!!!! I bought an extended warranty (thank god) since it was pre owned car. After 5 days, the guy at the dealership told me it had a brake problem they haven't seen before. A month later, I took it again because the motor sound is not even, and the suv shut off twice, waiting at the red light, on the same trip. While I was driving on my way to the shop, I drove on a very small water puddle and the suv just did not have any traction to the pavement! ( 30 miles an hour and my tires in good condition). Ar this moment the jeep its at the dealership shop and I don't know the diagnost yet. Overall, I don't feel safe driving this jeep anymore and don't know what to do because I don't want to have a bigger debt if I have to trade in, in order to get a more reliable vehicle.
Radio/Nav issues
We have had numerous issues with our radio/nav unit in our 2014 Cherokee Limited. As we are driving the nav has us in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. With the first issue, the dealer told us we needed a new radio unit. This for a less than 5 year old vehicle with only 42K miles. After contacting corporate custormer service, we found that there was an update available that fixed the problem and we were reimbursed by Chrysler. Six months later the same problem comes back. The dealership again tells us that there is an internal issue with the radio and we need a new one. I am losing my Cherokee, but I'm losing my confidence in the brand.
The J in Jeep is for junk
Don't buy the extended warranty I have the premier and I am now working and taking the bus because of the fine print you don't take time to read and the service at two dealerships for the past year that I've had this car have been the worst I've ever had to deal with. The bad part about all this, is that my bank says they'll refinance me but I owe that one and nobody wants to give me basically anything for it as a trade in. LOL right now it needs a valve or cylinder they said when I first got it I told him something was wrong with it but it went through one year and through the other. I don't have a checking debit card so getting a car rental that's part of warranty is that the window it's a nice looking car from the outside and a distance, but an American made car I now regret selling my little Rav4 Toyota two-door Sports I had it was nothing wrong with it I just didn't want to have to cars with two insurance. That car never gave me any trouble. But now look at me walking 65 years old and having to walk the catch the bus and that's a nightmare you got a bunch of people bath on disability screaming at each other but until the druggies Etc. This car Jeep Cherokee latitude has given me nothing but attitude.! I can honestly say that I've had Clunkers for sure why that didn't give me so much trouble as this one and that better service. FYI car has a hundred thousand mile warranty it's because the company knows it has issues and then you have to stand in line and wait for them to just look at it at least 5 days plus it comes back with parts missing if you're not careful I suggest you take pictures before and after. LOL I've always had Nissan or Toyota and never had any issues other than I trade them in for are you a model. I was supposed to get a frontier but it was sold the day before I went to get it and the salesman waited to tell me when I got there. He told me jeep was not an American made car. I don't recommend it unless you are married to a mechanic or related to one that can work on it because the dealerships are the worst I'm just talkin about here in San Antonio Texas. Good luck by 1 you're not worth it by a Mercedes we're going to BMW you won't have the trouble and it's worth it quality cars

I hate this car
This is my 5th Jeep Vehicle. Bought all of them new. The first four were great very reliable and very few if any problems. This one has been a nightmare! 3 warranty issues which all required multi day visits to dealers with in one case my dealer having the car for 5 weeks. This vehicle constantly breaks. Electronic issues, misfiring engine, failed engine mount and now a blown radiator. In addition to paying for the car and regular maintenance I’ve spent countless hours at the dealer for warranty work and many thousands on unexpected failures. I’ve owned 7 new cars in the last 20 years and this vehicle is by far the worst! I will never again even consider buying a Jeep brand vehicle
