Used 1999 Jaguar XJ-Series Consumer Reviews
Dream Car
Ive owned over 30 vehicles in my day and I purchased my XJ8 used approximately 2 years ago. It has honestly been one of the best cars that Ive owned. Sleek elegance with dependability! Im in the process of purchasing an XK8 convertible just so my XJ wont get lonely in the garage. I highly recommend Jaguar to all my friends!

26 Days of pure enjoyment
My First Jag I had gotten the '99 XJ8 late Sept. 2012 with 109,000 miles on it and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately financed it (separate issue altogether) and got plates about a week before the temps expired. 26 days later exactly on my Cousins wedding on my way to there a deer was hunting me and ran out in front and messed up the driver side fender and totaling it out. pretty much had a 26 day test drive on the vehicle since I got a check after the deductible and loan paid off lol. Gave me a taste of the big cats and my replacement is going to be another Jag this time paid for with CASH! Whoo Hoo! Here Kitty Kitty! PS I'm in my mid to late 20s
LOVE it!
My '98 VDP is the most beautiful car on the road. With 49,000 miles on the odo, it looks and drives like new. All service is done by my Jag dealer (who is First Class), and the car has never had a major mechanical problem. This car is a feast for the eyes as its Anthracite paint sparkles and dances in the sun, and a thrill for the soul when I call on its immense power and maneuverability. The interior creature comforts are absolutely superb and can't be touched by those boxy German machines. The 1998 Jaguar VDP is a CLASS ACT.
Disappointed with this vehicle
The dealer and the factory representative have indicated that the rumbling noise and vibrations is a 4th order engine vibration being transmitted through the exhaust system. "This is a characteristic of the vehicle as it ages, which will only occcur in the normal drive mode. Engineering is aware of the problem, but there is no fix at this time." The vehicle is 48 months old, has been babied. What happens when it is 60 months old, will it sound and ride like a Nova? What a pathetic excuse, does anyone have this problem? , time to trade for a Mercedes
