Used 2000 Jaguar S-Type Sedan Consumer Reviews
S for Sensational
Great car. Rides great, looks great, and performs great. This car turns heads. It's style and raw HP blows away all other cars in it's class. Jaguar sets the standard for cars, Ray Catena sets the standard for dealerships. I used Ray Catena's "Internet Sales" option to negotiate and purchase my car -- it was easy, pleasant, and way too cool.
the most horrable nightmare
I LOVE the design of this car and I LOVE to drive it...when it is not in for repair...I drive a rental more than my own car because it is always in the shop...for weeks at a time. the dealer ship couldn't figure out why it would always miss between 40-60 mph so they charged me over and over to "fix" different things...finaly the check engine light gave them a code which indicated the coils of which there are 12 they have been failing one at a time and each time I am back, last time I didn't get 10 miles from the shop. I am now driving another rental!!!!!!
Great Car
I Own a BMW also. This car is more logical in interior design. My new X-5 died on me only after 6 months.I have had no problems with the S-Type.Much better Navigation and A/C controls then the BMW.Ride is comparable to the BMW.I will admit that the BMW feels faster and has a sportier ride.

$60,000. Hunk o' JUNK
I have owned about 15 cars since I was 16 years old. The Jaguar was purchased new for $60k. It needed internal engine work @ 8K mi, 12K, 20K and 50Kmi. When I got it home from the last engine overhaul ($1800) the radiator started leaking. After that the transmission staarted downshifting on the freeway. At 60,000 mi I had to dump it. It was a VERY expensive mistake. DO NOT BUY ONE.
