TERRIBLE Driving Position!!!
I truly love most things about his vehicle! My family of 6 had owned 4 of these since it’s been called the the QX80…thanks to the employee lease option. However, as a 5’ 9” average-sized male, I CAN NOT GET COMFORTABLE at all in the driver’s seat!!! The armrest is too low to provide ANY support. The seats won’t adjust low enough for my arms to touch either armrest (center OR on the door). Consequently, my arms and shoulders get extremely fatigued from being suspended in mid-air while driving. This is especially noticeable on longer road trips. So, the driver’s seat is the worst seat in the whole vehicle!! Minor tweaks have been made to the interior and exterior styling over the years. However, this uncomfortable, too high driver’s seat has remained…for years!! Simple solution…allow the driver’s seat to be lowered more AND allow the steering wheel to be adjusted so that it’s closer to the driver. Then, this would be a REALLY NICE vehicle. Lastly, offering a more fuel efficient engine would be a GREAT option too. Getting a combined 13 MPG gets very expensive!! I personally don’t need the engine’s towing capabilities. I mostly drive on interstate…and NEVER tow anything. So, a powerful turbo or electric hybrid that keeps the vehicles great power, but give more MPG would really be nice!! However, I would still love it more even with it getting 13 MPG, IF the driver’s seat was more comfortable. Otherwise, it’s really a great spacious family hauler!!
