A great car let down by small issues
My 99 Q45 is my 2nd. Previously owned a 93 Q45. Both Q's are wonderful cars and a joy to drive. My BIG problem with owning these cars is 1) extremely high rate of depreciation 2) VERY expensive maintenance and repairs - major service intervals approach $1000. My 99 Q has issues with warped brake rotors, driveline vibratons, steering shudder that return after being "fixed". Sensors go bad on the car and it costs $$$$ to replace. Example: O2 sensor (this car has 4), fixed one for $365. Knock sensor (one of 2) requires COMPLETE intake removal @ $1000. Turbine sensor leak cost $2300 to fix. It never ends. I agree with all the other reviews on this car, but 1 have had 2 Q's that cost $$$$ to keep
Solid state luxury at its finest
The Q45 is in a class by itself for above Lincoln or Lexus. From the moment you close the door the tight solid sounds tells you that this car is "solid". As for the interior the leather is the truly the finest I've seen in a car. The suspension and the comfort of the seats give a flawless ride on the roughest of roads. The Bose sound and extreme quietness of the engine and no road noise make this car one of the best luxuries I've ever owned. It's an Infiniti and the Q45 tops them all!

Fine Wine
Purchased my Q45 with 14,000 miles on it & now have 117,000 miles. My Q drives as well today as when I bought it. This car has better sex appeal today than when it was first introduced. It has a very sleek appearance for a relatively large sedan. It has been mine and my kids favorite car to ride in. I havn't had any major problems than normal maintenance. It is a joy to drive after driving other vehicles, you realize what a great car it is.
Japanese interpretation Buick Park Avenu
Bought this car used in 2001 with 25,000 miles. It has been relatively trouble free. Dealer gave me a set anniversary wheels because the touring wheels were warped from chroming (this is apparently a common problem, don't chrome your wheels folks). Trouble free but for a few annoying problems (front doors close too easily). Some body flex is noticeable, but no squeeks in the interior (yet). Seat memory does not reset the steering wheel's location.
Best bang for the buck
Every bit the car and more than the Lexus LS series but almost half the cost used. I never understood how Infiniti botched this market share, it certainly is not due to quality. This is my 2nd Q. The last one had 110k miles before anything major started to appear.
I love this car.

Best Car I have had
Heads turn, the car is sleek, its got get up and go, it will out handle the german luxury cars and it is not a Lexus... The electronic suspension, Bose stereo, the quiet ride and the comfort make this a great car. We run the car all day on the freeway and local streets for business. Never in the shop for breakdowns, do the standard maintenance and you are good to go
Best Value Luxury Vehicle!
I am on my 3rd Q45 and it's one of the most reliable luxury cars you can get for the price. Just make sure you maintain the vehicle properly and it won't give you issues. Bought the car almost 2 years ago with 43K on it and now has 77K. The engine can use a bit more horses, but once on the hiway it'll outrun most cars. My mechanic is a personal friend and he tells me the car is in great shape everytime I take it in for him to service. This is one of the best cars for the price you pay folks!!
My unbreakable Q
I bought this car because I was an outside salesman at the time and wanted a car that would be very reliable. I have put more than 110K miles on the car and have had a major accident that resulted in $13,000 in repairs. It still rides as quietly and smoothly as a new car without any shakes or rattles. I'd like a newer car but when this one is all cleaned up and given the fact that it does not break it is really hard to justify another purchase. I did have to change the wheels to get rid of road noise and it could use a much larger trunk.
good ride!
Got used Q with only 59000 miles. I always wanted this body style like the 97 and 98, but getting a 99 with low miles and priced at $15K, well I was sold. Not disappointed in the car after 5 months. Smooth, quiet, (test drove the Q45T and it was very noisy and not a good ride). The standard Q is for me, an old dude.
Love It
I've had this car a number of years now and I'll never buy another brand of luxury vehicle again. Aside from regular maintenance my car has never had to have any major repairs. Build quality is excellent. Design inside and out is classic and it's one that will never go out of style.
1999 Infiniti Q45
Since I purchased the Q45 several years ago all service work has been done in a timely manner. The finish has held up beautifully since I keep it polished. This is a sweet 4 door sedan which competes with the Lexus LS 430 but costs thousands less!
q45
beyond expectations for price
1999 Q45t
Fell in love at first site. However I was not prepared for the excessive road noise, Loud cooling fan motor for the radiator, and the so called excessive road force variation (Dealer comments)thus causing the car to have 3 sets of tires before it had 6,000 miles. After contacting the factory and making numerous trips back and forth I gave up.I call it the webble mobile, as in they wobble. This is my first and last Infiniti, at just over $48,000 it was not the luxury car I dreamed of. hoping for.
Well done Infiniti
No problems whatsoever. I am only disappointed in its value after only three years.
Best used car buy for qual/ride/perf
No problems. excellent service.
99Q45
DRIVES WELL. VERY COMFORTABLE THIS IS 4TH Q45 FOR ME. HELD UP WELL IN SERIOUS ACCIDENT.THIS SEDAN TENDED TO SKID UPON STRONG STARTING ACCELERATION. I PREFERRED IT OVER LEXUSAND BMW 7 SERIES.
a winner
had this car a little over a month and is one of the nicest cars ive owned. has about 76,000 on it and rides like new. had a 99 maxima se and still also own a 95 g20t and has 220000 miles. these nissans wont die. hope i have the same luck with the Q.
I've had it from the beginning
Great car-quiet, smooth, and powerful. Buttery leather seats, but they could have more side support. Feel safe in this big car. Excellent traction control system, never a problem (with Blizzak tires on all four) in New Hampshire winters.
The Infinity Wonder the Q45
I have owned several luxury automobiles over the years and the Q45 is one of the most beautiful of them all. Only the Jaguar line comes even close. This car has been an absolute joy to drive and own.
A new Level of comfort
I bought this car with only 39520 miles in 04 and only had to replace the tires because of road noise. This car does lack power but I found the ride makes up for it. The previous owner had it maintained at the dealer. I drove suvs and trucks before but I now like cars when it comes to highway and street driving. I am considering a new Q45 only becuase of the stronger engine... if only someone could install the 4.5 liter in my old Q45T then I would keep it.
Awesome Ride
Bought this private owner. I was worried about the V8s gas mileage but not bad if you keep your foot off the floor. Most comfortable vehicle I have ever driven or rode in. I am in sales and LOVE to take clients in this awesome ride!
Its 2024 and the 1999 is still going
Its 2024 and the 1999 is still going at 95k. This model was Infinitis answer to the Lexus LS400. Bought this in 2012 with 40k with the green pearl factory paint that still shines like showroom new. I removed the 17inch factory wheels and installed Infiniti FX 18inch wheels that I had powder coated. I run Michelin's and it is a beautiful ride still to this day. Soon it will be time for replacing struts and shocks and I don't know yet what I am going to do. I am still driving this car as a daily grocery cart. While the ride is smooth the car weighs in near 4400lbs. Gas is and has always been marginal with the V8 but it still gets up and goes. Many reviews say it is comfortable but I will say I have one issue with this car. The seats are not meant for tall people. Other than that the car is well appointed and a ride almost as good as my Lincoln. I have replaced many regular parts and hard parts such at radiator, valve cover gaskets, injectors, rotors, O2 sensors, arm rests, rack, door card after the tint tech damaged passenger side, and interior work by my interior tech. Interior still looks new. Has it been easy on maintenance? Yes and No - I have had the expensive repairs and normal repairs. The car keeps going and so does the factory paint. The trunk lid got damaged at the fiberglass area license plate area and I had to replace the entire trunk lid with a 2001. My body guy did a perfect job on the forest green pearl and entire paint still shines. No rust on the car and it's over 25 years old. Been through a lot of batteries and regular parts but like I said, I enjoy driving the car still to this day. My wife is pushing for a new SUV and is tired of the Q now so shopping for a vehicle in 2024 is a real challenge. I am keeping the Q and getting a 2nd car. At 25 yeas old, the Q45 is more of a project car now and I intend on keeping it going and repairing it. This is a survivor and one of the last of the great Nissan/Infiniti icons. Update: Still running the q45 with 97k - the gas line got to brittle and had to be replaced. Injectors still going ok - Does not use any oil!
