My 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GT Limited

I bought my Tiburon with 73,500 miles on it with an after market exhaust. Today it has around 133000 miles on it and just installed a K&N cold air intake. I drive it around town and mostly on the highway between school and my home town. Topped it on the highway around 150 mph. 0-60 is roughly 8s. Good: The sound of the engine when accelerating. Looks. Many options for customization. Car isn't heavy. still attracts attention. Bad: Paint has started to peal. replaced the Gt wing with a color matched Se wing, and repainted the side mirrors. lately noticed little spots on the right side, but at this moment can not be seen unless looking for it. Sunroof is having faults opening and closing. Not enough acceleration. Fuel consumption could be better. I'm 6'6" tall, the seats are reclined back and moved in the most aft position. Lumbar is just about useless, causing my back to hurt on long drives. Really wish it was a manual. My advice for new owners: Value of the car will drop sharply. Great car for high school and college students.

I've owned the car for over 7 months now and barely have a complaint about it. Fuel economy is great for the V6 power. I get 26 mpg city and almost 30 highway. 6 speed is tons of fun, zippy but could use more power. Interior is very sexy(2 tone leather) and i can't get enough compliments about it. It definitely needs a remote truck release but that's just about it. You would not be disappointed going with this car, I will own this until the tires fall off.

I bought this car because it was the first "Nice car" I could get. I had driven beaters until this car. It handles pretty well, I live in the country and I've only lost traction once on a turn. Power is pretty good, but for the size of the engine it should have much more power. I love the looks of the car inside and out, styling is great. One aggravating thing is the 4 gear auto transmission, whenever driven on the highway it could much better if it had a 5th gear, and probably much better mpg. Bad choice of only 4 gears. Recently hit a deer at 55 mph and car held up well, only had to replace a headlight and the hood. All in all, a decent buy for a cheaper sporty car. Mpg on highway is great

I have owned my 07 Tiburon for over a year and I have not had a single problem with it in any way. This car is compact, and fun to drive. People will turn their head when they see you drive by. I have had compliments from other drivers while at the red light. The exterior gives a very sporty and pricey look. The interior is very sharp and modern looking. The vehicle is built very strong which is noticeable when you get in and close the door. Friends will want a ride with you all of the time. My friend say in the drivers seat, turned on the car and said "wow". The engine sounds great for a 4 cyl. and acceleration is impressive. I recommend this car mostly for reliability and looks.

My 2007 Tiburon GT, automatic, is up to nearly 129,000 miles so far and the only issue I've had to this point is to replace a faulty fuel sensor. That's it. Most reliable car I've ever owned and I hope it keeps going strong for a while longer, because I'm still in love with the way the car looks and how it drives. Gorgeous machine and it's proven to have longevity to boot. Wonderful for a single person (who's under 6'0" tall - that's important with the shallow headroom here). UPDATE: Now 160,000 miles. Only unexpected issues in past 30K miles have been replacing rear sway bar and a couple TPMS sensors. Not bad considering age/mileage.

Have had this Tib since 2012 it sat in garage of my friend who bought it brand new and very seldom ever drove it. Only 25,450mi when I bought it then and at a great price. Here it is 2018 and with 94,000 hard miles, runs great, just changed timing belt, and put new clutch in. Other then tires, oil changes, 1 spark plug set, this car has paid for itself so many times over. It is all good now for the next 100,000, she's definitely a keeper.

I bought my Tib brand new in 2007. I now have 63,500 and still no major problems. The clutch cylinder slave went out at around 60,000...but of course it had to go eventually. I absolutely still love my car. I just had the rear brakes changed 2 weeks ago for the first time. Front brakes are still great. The original tires only lasted about a year, but I got new ones at Discount Tire and they are going on a year and a half and still great tread left. Only problem I have with my Tib is my children will grow out of the back seat in the next few years. Then I guess I will have to get an SUV. But I think I will keep my Tib for when I drive alone!!

I owned this car for 1 year now, and has no problem with it. Still perform great, I have no problem with the performance of the car, as I can easily overtake any audis, bmws or benzies on the highway. Its true that the tiburon is not as powerful as some other high performance sport cars, but speed defend on both the driver and the car not just the car alone. The tib can easily do 180 km/h, but then again only pro race car drivers would drive any faster... Simply put, the tiburon is best of class in term of price per features. If you crave that extra power then you can easily add a supercharger on your tiby for only a few grands.

I bought mine w/ 5000 miles, put 38,000 on it. Sold it because i had a family and you can BARELY squeeze a baby seat in the back, not practical. I bought it thinking this would be a peppy sports car, but was disappointed. Going from my Saturn to this was a step up, but not much. 170 hp and still only be in the 23mpg highway area makes this car not worth the money. It was reliable, handled fairly well, nice ride, and comfortable.

I'm writing this review to basically respond to the Edmunds review. I've had my GT V6 for 6 years now and have had not one problem with it. I feel the Edmunds review was very harsh towards the Tiburon's power/engine. Guess what guys? It's not a Corvette! It is what it is, I knew when I bought it after the test drive it was weak, but I still bought it because it has the sexiest body style I've ever seen. That's why its nicknamed a Baby Aston Martin... It's a great tuner car as well, I've put a cold air intake/exhaust/headers on mine and I can vouch the Tiburon has enormous power...It's just harnessed by the factory specs and state laws. Don't blame the Tiburon for that...I love it!

This car caught my attention at the time when they first came out. My was a dark navy blue color which is what caught my attention and the body style. Had it for over 7 years now with less than 60K mileage on it. After about 40k mileage I started to notice that the clutch is performing really bad like its not responding when shifting. So I did a little research and found out that the manufacture had put in a clutch delay thing inside the master cylinder to prevent clutch overheating if you drive aggressively. So I just remove that clutch delay thing and now it's responding a little better without that lag.

I read some reviews on here when I was looking for a car. I wish I had found all the reviews about how the clutch on this car is junk. I am NOT even joking, I bought the car used with 40k miles - the day after I drove it off the lot the clutch started slipping. Yes, the day after, I wish it had slipped during the test drive. I guess Hyundai is notorious for having bad clutches. The clutch warranty on a new car is only 12K miles / 1 Year.... for a reason. Oh, and of course I bought the extended warranty that does not cover clutches, as I found out. The dealership quoted me on the low end $1400. AGH! This is my Karma for buying a foreign car I guess.

I bought my SE 14 months ago with 15,000 miles. It now has 35,000 miles on it and I'm told needs a new clutch for $3000. I reported a problem from the 1st week and again 3 additional times prior to this past week but because they couldn't duplicate the problem dismissed it. It has been into the Hyundai dealership over a dozen times for things such as: sunroof not functioning properly, bad tpms sensors, faulty driver buckle pretensioner (causing airbag light to come on), cruise control didn't work, fuel gauge faulty, temp guage, acceleration issues - CLUTCH. Do your research prior to buying any Tiburon, they seem to have many similar issues. I will NEVER buy a Hyundai again!

I purchased my Tiburon new in 07 and a few months after I bought it it died on the railroad tracks and they had to come get it and take it to the dealership to fix it. After a week of having it back supposedly fixed it died again but after the second time they fixed I haven't had another other problems from it. It's a great car and I get tons of compliments I even walked outside one day to find a woman taking pictures of it because there aren't many in my area and mine is the only Limited for miles.

This is one very solidly built vehicle. You can feel it in the doors, hatchback and hood. It handles very well for a car this heavy. There is pronounced torque steer when turning under a heavy throttle, but if you know it's going to happen it's very easy to correct for. Good power and torque. Very fun to drive. The six speed manual is definately the way to go. Huge track bars front and rear allow aggressive cornering without body roll. Quality Kenwood sound system driving six speakers. Radio quality hampered a bit by the in glass antennae. Overall, one great sporty coupe!

This is my 4th Hyundai (2 Elantra GTs, Tucson) and I can not say enough good things about all of them. I am 56, a former test driver, racer etc. and the quality and cost/benefit ratio of owning a Hyundai is clearly above all others. The new Tib is simply, to me, stunning in its purity and is an improved version of the Ferrari 456 it was designed after. The interior is clean and functional, the ride tight and controlled, the braking linear and the 4cyl is more than adequate with the quick shifting close ratio 5sp. With only 500 (engine still not broken in) miles on it, I got 35.2 hwy at a steady 65mph- that's hard to beat and equals the Elantra. And, every day someone asks me what it is.

The most notable is the chassis just feels stiffer then ever. The steering is very tight and gives that racing feel. The 07 looks better then ever and Im enjoying it. I suppose when the new model comes out in 09 I will wait till around 12 and purchase that year! keep up the good work Hyundai

When enough people find out about the Tiburon and drive one, I'm sure Hyundai could raise the price of this car by $5,000 - possibly more. The car looks like a $30,000 to $35,000 vehicle. I believe that because Korean cars have had a bad reputation in the past that Hyundai is selling this vehicle for thousands of dollars less than a well established auto manufacturer could get for this car. I can't think of a single thing wrong with this vehicle at the price it sells for. I test drove many other cars in the Tiburon's price range before purchasing the Tiburon. I'm talking about the 2007 Tiburon GT specifically. The car is too much fun to drive, never fails to turn heads! WOW!

This car is truly amazing! It gets really good gas millage. I got 400 miles out of the first tank and only put 12.125 gallons of gas in it!!! The price you pay for the millage is the power. While this car isn't anywhere NEAR powerful for a sports car(138 hp/136 ft-lbs) it does get around ok and can keep up with traffic without needing to red line every gear. The styling both inside and out is great. Everything is easy to reach. It's super comfortable to ride in and takes corners like a pro. Overall, this is a great car, Good bang for the buck and really fun on the back roads. All this for only 18 K!!! You can't go wrong. :D

I have had my Tib for nearly a year now and I absolutely love it. The gas mileage is far better than I expected from a sports car. The outside design and detailing is fantastic. The beige leather interior (found only in the 2007 GT Limited) coupled with the sleek black exterior I chose really gives this car a very expensive look for only a little bit of money. I get compliments on this car all the time. "That is a beautiful car." "What a sweet ride." And so on and so forth. It has a great deal of power and it handles well.

The Tiburon SE is alot of car for the money(ESC,TCM,Sport tuned suspention, which gives it a much better ride than the GT). I drove all the Tibs and the SE gets 4 stars in the fun factor. I was looking at the 350Z but didn't want to pay another 7-10K more for a car that seemed to handle the same as the SE. And storage was an issue too. 14.5 cubic feet in the back, plenty of room for a week on the road. It's not the fastest car in it's price range, but it looks and feels like a sports car. In world of boring bubble cars this little hot rod stands out in the crowd.

Great car! The exterior styling is what let me to purchase the Tiburon. The price was well below comparable sports cars. My MPG is slightly better than I was expecting based on the published MPG. On the low end I have never got fewer than 24, and the highest has been 29. I now have driven it to 23,000 miles with no mechanical problems. A little wear spot on the leather seat bolster. The 6th gear, ratio, could be a little higher it "tacks" about 900rpm's higher that my old 5sp Mits. Eclipse at 60MPH. It could do better on fuel consumption if the 1-6th gear ratios were different, especially 6th. There is noticeable acceleration steer. The accelerator pedal and brake pedal are to close together.

Bought it for my wife and daughter, now they can't get me out of it! This is my 3rd Hyundai acquisition this year, Sonata for business and Sonata for personal use. Hyundai is on a roll, keep up the good work.

This is my first Tiburon and I love it. Everyone comments on how nice it looks. It drives like a million dollars. I hope I can make some changes without messing up the warranty.

Test drove Nissians, Toyota's and every other foreign sports car in the $30,000 price range or less. When I drove Tiburon I first noticed that my 6'2" 245 pound body was actually comfortable and the interior design and the quality of workmanship from the padded dash leather to the REAL leather wrap steering wheel to the high quality soft REAL leather seating and the wrap around dash and console. The car in solid made you don't feel like you just purchased and sheet of plastic on wheels, Im very impressed with the exterior as well excellent front and rear design and lighting, excellent drive lighting as well. I luv the gas mileage also 6 cyl. 35 mpg. Highway, 22 in town

I recently bought my Tiburon GT back in August as a b-day for both my wife and myself. Since we bought the Tiburon we've put it to the test. I put ours on the track in it's initial break in phase <1K and broken-in >1.5K so to speak realms. Best times: (Track proven and mounted with window sticker over our mantle) 0-60: 7.537/6.819 Top Speed: 149 1/8 mile: 10.729 65.10 /9.879 71.42 The ride is INCREDIBLY smooth, even compared to my parents CLK 320 and ML 55 AMG Mercedes's. Cornering is phenemonal with minimal body roll. Also for you peeps wanting a date magnet, well this car will do the trick. Even my friends thought I spent over 30K but don't tell them I got it for 18.4 driveout.

I loved driving this from the moment I pulled it out of the dealership! This V6 is extremely responsive, the shifter is nice and tight, and I'm as comfortable and secure in my seat in tight curves at high speeds as I am on the straightaway. The new colors from '07 are awesome, and I've gotten a lot of complements at my infrequent fuel stops.

Bought the Limited model V6 runs great even though the 4 seemed OK .. moves well in traffic ... compares well with the Eclipse, 350Z and other similar cars...I get lots of looks...many think it is some other kind of car costing 6 to 15,000 dollars more ... LOL ... this car is fun to drive and worth the money.

This car drives like the real deal. It outperforms most of the others in its class, and that's obvious in traffic and on the highway. The gearbox is nice and tight, the clutch pedal requires just enough force to keep me from wanting to ride it, and its performance at the high end is remarkable for the price. Then, on top of the great performance, it turns heads wherever it goes, and I look and feel great in it.

Overall, I have had a great experience with this car. I bought it new and have had it for 2 1/2 years now. It currently has a little over 50,000 miles on it. I have taken several road trips in it and it is surprisingly comfortable. It also turns heads. I have literally had people pull up to me and ask what kind of car it was and were stunned that it was a Hyundai. I would highly suggest getting the SE because the 6-speed helps make full use of the small amount of power to make it feel faster than it really is.

This vehicle is amazing. It rides nice and everyone will look at you when you are on the road. There are not alot of them on the road which makes them unique. If i got to choose to buy this car again I would its the best on the market. I have not found anything to complain about this car.

We originally owned an '03 Tiburon and '02 Jetta. We wanted to downsize to 1 car, so it had to be reliable, high-quality, and with great performance. Our '03 Tib had been awesome, but we initially felt like trying something new. We test drove 7 other '07 cars including Acura TSX, Eclipse GT, and Lexus is250. To our surprise, none of them could match Tiburon's combo of reliability, quality, performance, warranty, and features we wanted --- except the Lexus for $11,000 more! So, we bought the '07 SE (6-cyl manual). LOVE this car. A joy to drive, beautiful inside and out. Trust us: the back seat is fine for 2 adults for around town; front seat has as much headroom as the Jetta. 100% satisfied!
