Used 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6A) Consumer Reviews
One terrific car
This is one great car. Hyundai has gotten everything right. I have owned 28 cars in my life including Mercedes (awful), Audi, Lincoln, Avalon, etc., and this Sonata does not disappoint. This my second Sonata.....the first being a 2011. The most noticeable improvement is the increased level of quietness. The 2011 had an unacceptable level of tire noise intruding into the cabin on coarse roads. The 2013 is almost silent on most city streets and measurably quieter at speed. Wind noise is non existent. UPDATE: The car is now 3.5 years old (I will very likely get a 2017 in December). The passenger seat on this one as well as my 2011 sits far too low. I give an extra seat cushion to female friends so that can see out! Car does not have electric seats, and no manual raise/lower. The Bluetooth has been the only weak spot. It often cannot understand my dialing instructions. Incoming calls are fine (and no, I am not driving when I speak on the phone!) It will play music from my iPhone if it feels like it. Hyundai dealer has replaced the radio system twice with no improvement. They say the fault has been with the manufacturer of the system. I continue to love this car and "they and thought of everything" plays through my head every time I drive it.

Bought used, not disappointed
Has some issues with the sales team at the local dealership (but that's not the car's fault). I struggled with the idea of buying a Hyundai but after lots of researching and test drives, it was hard to deny the value. You get a lot of car for the price. I'm 6'2" so the Elantra was a bit tight for me, but the Sonata is a really comfortable ride. It's not built for drag racing, could be peppier off the line but beyond that it can move and the steering is really responsive. The finishes, exterior and interior, are really nice. I've had it for 2 months now and am very happy with the car!

Ok reliability, need a lot of improvement
I bought my car in November 2014 with 47 000 miles. It is an appealing car, that competes with Toyota Camry, Honda Accord , Nissan Maxima etc. Overall it is decent car with a lots of features even in a basic trim (GLS) model line. Decent acceleration and braking, plenty of interior and cargo space and decent overall reliability. The good: Appealing design, easy access to basic maintenance, ease access to spark plugs oil change and filters as well as battery and belt maintenance. Decent acceleration 195HP from basic 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. Decent braking and great list of safety features ( airbags, ESP stability control, ABS as well as good crash tests. Great interior and cargo space, decent size mirrors and good visibility. Price per value. The bad: Handling/ impossible to align geometry/steering. ( Car is slightly toed out, even within the specs per manufacturer-tried to align tooo many times with dealer as well as independent parties). As an result, car need tiny, yet constant steering corrections, which leads to fatigue in longer trips. basically car cannot go exactly straight in higher speed on Hwy. Jerky transmission shifts. Bad body roll. Lesser than advertised MPG . Uncomfortable seats, paint peeling from steering wheel. Road noise, even with Michelin high end tires. Fuel economy not 24/35 in reality City 20/Hwy 30.. it is pretty bad for 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Overall car need a lot to be desired and even a low price tag does not justify shortcomings in design and quality control. Shall you have any questions hit me up.

2013 Sonata GLS
Lots of interior room. AC cools quickly which is a must because of the hot Texas summers. Quiet and comfortable ride. Good gas mileage. Good trunk space.
