Hyundai
Love this car. Fun to drive and dependable.
Get the leather, it's worth it
This is the first car I've bought w/o influence of (ex)wife, parents, friends, etc. Car looks fantastic, inside and out. Drives smooth, quiet, good stereo. I test drove w/ and w/o leather. Get the leather. This car has a much better feel w/ leather. The thermostat and the sunroof will now be necessities rather than luxuries on future cars for me. If it's over 60 degrees and not raining, the sunroof is open, day or night. By the way: The headlights are EXACTLY like my friend's mercedes, and yes, the back end looks like a jag. People mistake it for $40,000-type car all the time.
I love my Hyndai
This is the second Hyndai I have onwed. I have found both cars to be extremely reliable, plus at the price, it can't be beat. The car feels like a luxury car, at a compact car price. If you test drive it, I think you will love it!
From an SUV to a car:
A little disappointed that it has already been in the garage to replace rack and pinion due to leak. Jeep was never in the garage in 8 years except for oil changes, etc.

Best Auto I have ever bought
Really is inexpensive....not cheap!
I was skeptical of buying such an inexpensive car. I thought it would be cheap. After 6 months, I really couldn't be happier. It both looks and drives great!
Great Value and good looking
After owning a Toyota Celica and Mazda 626ES, was talked into looking at a Sonata, and finally test driving a Soata. I was very impressed when we began to talk price I was really Impressed. So much for so little. It is every bit as good as the Mazda, and although not as sporty as the Celica it is every bit as nice as a Camry but for thousands less. I would highly recommend buying one. I was hesitant while reading reviews of poor gas mileage but doing predominately highway driving I get 30mpg.
FROM HONDA TO HYUNDAI
Due to the many miles I drive each year, I trade in every year. For past 5 years I had purchased a Honda. This year I got a Hyundai and with 35,000 miles on it, I have not had any problems while I used to have to take the Honda in after just 20,000 miles for more adjustment.
Economical Choice With Style!
The engine is quiet and the ride is smooth. We have taken this car on a long distance trip with for adults. One adult is 5"10 and was better off in the front than in the back. The ride was comfortable. I have given up my minivan for this Sonata! My minivan has been put in the garage because the Sonata is perfect for around town driving as well.
Nice Car
Nice car! Good handling, comfortable.
Why I like the Sonata.
I bought my car at an excellent price. The rebate was good and this car has tons of features that are standard that other cars don't have. You'll have to pay extra for things like the CD player, side airbags, fold down rear seat, etc. The warranty is better than the other cars I've looked into. There is a lot of trunk space, great for putting strollers in. The owners manual is cute they give you a little pen and notebook with the Hyundai symbol on it. Great for storing papers. I really enjoy my car. I didn't feel like I was taken advantage of after I bought this car and I really feel like I got a good deal on it. The price was well worth it.
Vibrates when stopped
When stopped for any length of time, car will start to vibrate. First, you will feel it in the steering wheel, then the dash board and the floor vibrates. Dealer states this is characteristic of car. I have had five Hyundai's, starting in 1990, and not one of them vibrated like this car.
Best Decision for the price
This was my best choice of 2004. I drove a Volvo940 Turbo before. That car was a money and gas eater. Also very noisy to drive. Before buying this Hyundai, I considered the Accord but went with theHyundai for the price and options. My wife and I, we are very satisfied so far. Everything about the car including dealer service is awesome. Especially those functions such as auto diminishing room mirror, heated mirror, smart climate control, and manual shift make me feel like riding luxury car.
Love this car
I also have a 2001 Grand Prix GTP and the ride quality in the sonata is 150% better than my GP. There is hardly any road noise to this car. I'm gonna tweak the Air induction box to improve gas mileage a little bit. That's my only complaint with the car.
First
Bought car used in june. took 8000 mi trip to western states in July. Car performed excellently, especially in mountainous ares using manual shift. I believe the car is well worth the money for the performance & warranty, but concerned about trade-in value or resell value.
great choice
I have owed Nissans, Toyotas and Honda and for the value my 2004 Sonota is right up there with them without the big sticker price. My sister bought one and sold me on it too.
Still love it!
I have had this car for almost two years and still love it! So does everyone else. People (several) have actually stopped me to ask about my car. They think it is expensive:)It is the first new car I have ever owned and we are now a Hyundai family. My sister bought a Tiburon yesterday. I thought it was cute but the Sonata has style!
Review of 2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 GLS
This is a great car. I have not had any issues with this automobile except that ever since I've owned the car - since day one I have experienced severe sacroiliac pain because the seat is low and I twist to get out of the car. The seats are pretty firm too. That took some getting used to. I get many compliments on the car and it has been a good purchase except for the back pain issue.
Owner's Review
This vehicle is one of the best handling vehicles I have ever owned. It is simply a fun car to drive. Quality is top of the line when comparing other vehicles I have owned. You just don't get tired of driving this car.
I love my Hyundai!
My husband and I have owned many cars from compact cars to SUVs, thus far my Hyundai Sonata has been my absolute favorite! It rides so smoothly and it has excellent safety features. It has maintained mechanical stability since day one. I recently had to purchase a new SUV in order to have more room for additional children, but I still love to take my Hyundai anytime the children are not with me! I highly reccommend this car!
Excellent choice
I got this car in January 2004 and on one trip I took from Florida to California I averaged 34.9 gallons per mile. I set it on cruise control at the speed limit (which varied) and kept going. Didn't check the mpg until I got there and needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. I am trading it in for a 2006 Santa Fe only because I need more hauling capacity for things I buy.
Excellent car best in class
The Sonata has been dream to own and drive. Excellent highway milage and great ride and handling in fowl weather!
I love my Sonata
I have had my 2004 Sonata LX into the Service Department for regular oil changes and once for a rattle. Other than that, it has been maintenance- free and a wonderful car to own. I would happily buy it again given the same circumstances. I bought it for the warranty but have really enjoyed driving it.
Awesome car
i have driven my car almost 38000 miles in two+ years. It is a beautiful car and I have had no problems with it other than the cassette stopped working. I took it in and it was immediately replaced. Gas mileage is around 28mpg. The seats could stand a bit more padding .
Pleasantly Surprised
I purchased this veicle knowing that I had peace of mind with the warranty offered. what has been so nice is that I have not had to use the warranty. I have over 51,000 miles on my car and I have not had any problem at all! Not even a bulb go out.
No not a Jag but a Hyundai!
Couldn't be happier with this car. We have owned it for three years now and still love it. Great looks, style and best of all this car has Lexus type of reliability.
Hyundai changed my opinion of them...
I have driven this car for 32,000 miles plus from Fairbanks, Alaska down to Seattle, Washington and now down to Lompoc, California and I have not had one single problem! Not one!!!
Good Car for The Price
Like the styling and color. Performance is good for a small V-6 on the highway.
Great Car
I have been very happy with this purchase. The only downside is fuel economy. I usually get 21 MPG for non-highway traffic (and that is with climate control turned on). For a V6 the MPG is not bad.
Great Car
Since new, this has been a great car. It is quiet, powerful for a 2.7l engine and handles very well. We have had only one issue with the starter where the Bendix drive slipped. The starter turned but the engine didn't turn over. Roadside assistance was here within an hour, took it to the local dealer and claimed to find nothing. It has never done it again in over a year. Its the best 17K I've spent on a car.
MY BABY JAG!!!
My first car ever was the Excel she treated well through out those harsh Chicago winters. So I moved up to the Elantra she treated well also. So I said what the heck get the Sonata. I think the 2004 has the best body build of all the Hyundai's. I love the quick speed pick up of that V6 engine, those horses just win durby evry time. I have not attemped to use that shift gear, for what? I still get asked what kind of car is that when I am at the car wash. People call it a baby Jag. The back spoiler I had installed gives it such a arrow dynamic look and feel. When I let my friend drive it one day and she drive up in it, I was like is that me!!!! Yes! I am very happy with my baby Jag
Great Car
This is great car. My wife bought this car brand new. It is fun to drive and has been very reliable after 62,000 miles. We drove it all over the country to SC, FL, Phile, Kansas City, NYC, Cleveland, St. Louis, Gatlinburg. Good substitution for an Accord or a Camry. Great warranty on this also.
Best car I ever bought, other than my Honda
Like buying a poor mans Honda.

Great Car Very Safe
Excellent car had it for 4 years only had to replace battery , thermostat, and brakes, only maintenance i did was change oil every 3000 miles, change out coolant ,change timing belt and all other belts and air filters and of course oil filters and wiper blades did NO other maintenance . Car saved my life in a major accident recently. Did excellent job in crash. Was hit by other vehicle going 80 mph. and I walked away with only minor bruises and a little soreness, of course was wearing seat belt, But the car was totaled but I was unhurt for the most part. Could not ask for better car. Great gas mileage and reliability. Get Gap Protection it is worth the investment!!
I love my Sonata
I like it more than the Honda Accord. I switched from Honnda Accord to the Sonata and I do not regret it a bit.
my 2004 sonata lx
this was the first vehicle I have ever purchased. I was impressed with: 1. the warranty 2. the value of the sonata 3. the overall look of the vehicle I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a "smart" car; a car that is a good value and has a little luxury.
Love my Sonata
I love my Sonata!! It is fun to drive and a great looker! I traded in a 2000 Bonneville and never looked back. For the money and the options, I got such a great deal and it looks like a million bucks. I will never go back to a GM car again!
My Hyundai Sonata
Great car...comfortable, easy and fun to drive. Would definitely recommend to others. Great price. Beautiful!!!
Great Bargain
Great price, has all the features as the more expensive cars. Runs great, have averaged 24 MPG in the city. Have not taken it to the country yet. Has the big car feeling when on the road. Looks good, drives good has plenty of features.
The car to buy
Very simply, everything you really need is in this car. It's not expensive, but it is surprisingly well built. It is not a speed demon, but do you really need to be runing your engine with hard accelerations? You can't beat the value for the price. Everything you really need is here and all the frills (except a navigation system, but do you really need one to get around your own neighborhood) are here too. And heck, it's about $8000 than a similar Accord or Camry.
very good car-
like this car- roomy and good to drive
good car!!
I am happy with my Sonata, I drive daily to and from work as well as casual driving on the weekends and I never experience any problems.
