First Hundai

Bought my first Hundai two days before Christmas. I would have liked the V6, but settled on the 4 cyl. Acceleration is more than sufficient. Ride is smooth; seats are comfortable; styling is superb. Combination highway & around town is 26 mpg which I consider excellent because the car hasn't even been broken in yet - 360 aggregate miles. With limited resources, I was very P&Q (Price & Quality) conscious. The price was right, the quality is apparent, & their warranty manifests the confidence of Hundai's engineering for the next 10 years or 100,000 miles. As a discriminating buyer, I was completely sold on this car.

My husband is a big guy 6ft 4in and it's hard for him to fit comfortably into some cars. As soon as he sat in it he fell in love - plenty of leg room super comfy. Other cars were a little tight for him. It met all our needs - room for our family (4 of us plus our dog), great trunk space, 27mpg on highway, price, style and comfort. We are very happy. I hope this helps like all the reviews helped me. Happy driving!

the shiftronic makes up for a slight lag in power, besides an economy sedan wouldn't be economical if it burned too much gas. It also give the car a more sporty feel. The sound systems quite good considering everything alls factory. Overall it looks good and drives good. By the way did i mention they're 4 airbags, standard.

Test Drove LX: loved it! Got the ABS & sunroof package. Paid a little over invoice (1%). Great customer service... no haggling! Inside, the LX is luxurious! The added features like the climate control, leather seats, auto rear mirror, and power drive seats are great bonuses for the buck! Don't get the Accord or Camry! Get the Sonata and you'll get more!

If you rated this car on value per category it would rank 10 on all aspects. I rated this vehicle in comparison to other mid-size sedans in a similar category, such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. If you are looking for a car with a firm ride this is not the vehicle for you as it has a fair amount of body roll, sacrificed for the soft ride no doubt. Overall it is a fun car to drive and I would recommend it over any other mid- sized sedan primarily because of the cost. My fiancee bought this car a month ago for $10,700 with 22K miles. It is very comfortable for long trips and has ample space in the rear seat and trunk. The car looks very upscale both inside and out.

My 85 yr old mother purchased this 2004 sonata gls new. Turned into on coming traffic and was hit head on, the other car was totaled she received only a minor bruise from the air bag. We hoped they would total it so he didn't have to put her back on the road. Ins fixed it, she no longer drives and I have been driving it. Now I am glad they repaired it, it's the best car I have ever owned.

I purchased this car used with 58000 miles on it. The Carfax report said that it had been a rental in it's previous life. Despite that, this car looks great, drives great and even with a V6 is good with fuel economy. I have since put 12,000 miles on the car and have had no problems. Just put on some new tires and have been diligent with the oil changes. I hope this car performs for another 30,000 or so. Then it should be about time to buy a new Hyundai.(I'll get the warranty next time:)

My family owned this car and a 2005 Elantra. We have owned 2 previous Elantras. I went from driving a 2001 Infiniti I30. We traded it in a an Elantra GT. I loved the GT but needed a larger car, so we got this Sonata. What a dream. This car reminds me of my Infiniti, WITHOUT the extra cost of premium unleaded gas. This car has it all. Great pickup, great radio and great overall value. I love this car. I recommend the 6 cyl. though. The 4 cyl. doesnt have the pick up. It is sluggish. After driving it as a loaner car, we bought it. I really recommend this car. I love it!!!

Purchased in 2001 as new.Had previously ownes a Elantra wagon and a Santa Fe. Both also excellent and with standard 4. Friends thought Hyundai was cheap etc. you know the old stories. Well i am known to be smart when spending and Hyundai gives dollar for dollar the best deal in quality, reliability and well they won me over big time.

I traded in my '01 Elantra for the '04 Sonata in search of more power,a better ride & a nicer look. I got all for far less than I could have buying new from the competition. My LX feels luxurious, looks expensive & offers good performance. I know there are other vehicles out there that offer more horses, or tighter handling or better amenities, but few have all of these & none can beat the price & industry leading waranty.

If you are looking for a lot for your buck and for a very well built car, this is it! As a bonus, I find this car's look very classy; it does not look cheap at all! Although if you are looking for a performance car, even with a V6, this car will disappoint you. I also find the suspension a bit stiff in town, but the driving comfort on the highway is excellent. This car has a very roomy interior without being a dinosaur. I for one appreciate the fact that it does not horn when the remote is used to unlock. It is more discreet and respectful of the environment and people. I hate noise pollution like car alarms and cell phones' ringtones! Make your wallet happy, not your mechanic!

Super value. get the 6 cylinder, 4 cylinder works too hard to propel a mid- size sedan. Shiftronic feature is great. You can shift up (or downshift) through the gears, or let it go automatic. On the downside, resale value is terrible. If you get one, plan to hold on to it for a while.

The Sonata is a luxury car and is the finest vehicle that I personally have owned. The first hyundia that my wife and I owned was a accent. Both of these cars are in a class of there own. If I would have bought a similar car I would have spent thousands more. The next car that I buy will also be a hyundia. They are worth everything.

I previously owned a ford Taurus 1996 and lost two auto transmissions, and ford would not give any help even though the transmission had only 50,000 miles, i had a factory new transmission installed and it lasted one year and 18,000 miles, but waranty said one year. So i decided to try the Hundai Sonata, and have found no troubles and been extremely happy with this car.

Overall, I love this car. The fuel economy is not quite as good as the competitors, but it's not bad. The low end tourque of the V6 is pretty weak, but once it gets going the car performs very well. passing on the highway is not a problem. The ride is extremely smooth, and quiet, and the car handles very well. The inside is confortable, and the standard features/price ratio was unmatched by any other car.

After careful analysis of all sedans in the Sonata's price range I determined it is by far the best value. It is 2-6 thousand dollars lower priced then other comparable equipted vehicles. It is very peppy and comfortable. It has a tight steering and good road feel. This is my second Hyundai and I am very pleased with the realibility and quality of these fine cars.

I love this car!!I looked at every car available in this price range before buying. I must say for the money you can't get a more luxurious car. Mine is fully loaded with leather, sunroof, etc. In fact it has every option available on this model and I got all of it for under 21,000. The ride is exceptional and very comfortable. You would never know you were riding in a car that sold for under 25,000.

I HAVE FOUND THE HYUNDAI SONATA TO BE A SOLID AUTOMOBILE. IT HAS APPEARANCE, IT HAS VALUED EQUIPMENT FOR THE DOLLAR, AND IT HAS PERFORMED VERY WELL BOTH LOCALLY AND ON LONG DISTANCE DRIVES. I USUALLY AVERAGE APPX 27-29 M.P.G. WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING ATSPEEDS FROM 55 TO 75 MPH. I HAVE USED THEIR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TWO OR THREE TIMES AND FOUND THE RESPONSE TIME AND SERVICE TO BE EXCELLENT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS AUTO TO ANY FAMILY SEEKING A SOLID, WELL BUILT CAR LOADED WITH EXTRAS FOR THE PRICE.

This car has been a joke. We bought the car and are not high-mileage drivers. We also purchased the EXTENDED Warranty to "Protect" us in the future. As of today it has 51000 miles. Problems, Air went out, 3 batteries, broken engine mounts, fuel sensor (which it seems is not covered by our Extended Warranty). So much for "protection." Add to this our local dealer went belly up and we have to drive forever to get the car fixed and it is time for the Toyota.

After driving all the big names like Toyota, Nissan, Saturn,Honda and Chrysler and comparing creature comforts, exterior styling and price for a comparable model, the only logical choice was the Sonata LX. Safety features galore, more than the others and at $4 to 8000 less. Hyundai has worked hard to make their products build quality better each year from their disasterious start. Nothing like a strong commitment to excellence!

ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY LOVE IT!!!! DID I SAY I LOVE IT? IF NOT...I LOVE IT! We owned an Hyundai almost 10 years ago and swore I would NEVER buy another one. I asked my husband where he bought his crack from when he even suggested it! Moral of the story? NEVER SAY NEVER. The new reputation, warranty, the smooth ride, the price, and the appearance won me over. I couldn't be happier. It also helped to have a sales rep who rocked!

Bought this when our other car died. The interior and acceleration sold me and my wife. We have the 4 cylinder. No problem getting to highway speed off of ramp, and that speed is 70 mph. I make frequent 600 mile trips and check mileage. My last trip highway mileage was 31.5 , which is better than the sticker said. This was the last year for south Korean made sonatas. They are now made in Montgomery Alabama.

I have owned my Hyundai since August 2004. My husband and I were looking for a car with enough room for our 3 boys to be able to sit comfortably in the back seat as well as great gas mileage as much as I drive. The Sonata is GREAT! I love my car! It has all the little extras that a higher-end car would have without the big price tag. It handles great, I have PLENTY of room in the trunk for groceries, sports equipment or luggage. The gas mileage is great. We take my car everywhere, especially with the price of gas. I love the CD player and console area where I can put my cell phone and charger. This is a great car!

After driving my 2004 Sonata for seven weeks, I'm convinced I made the right decision. We have been so pleased with it that my wife went and purchased a 2004 Elantra. The warranty is impossible to beat at any other dealership. The car rides very comfortably and handles extremely well in both city and highway driving. It's stylish design is far more attractive to me than the high-backed Nissan Sentra and the squared-off Toyota Camry. I highly recommend this car.

I went to our one week old Hyundai dealer to buy an Elantra for my wife and ended up trading off my Lexus ES- 300 for a loaded Sonata! There it was just begging me to take it home; I couldn't resist. It is not as sporty nor as powerful as the Lexus but I am not 20 anymore so those things are not as important. This car just looks and feels right. Except my wife didn't win.
