What a deal- Great car at a great price!
I started out wanting to buy a Toyota Highlander. Did a LOT of research & everything that came standard on my Hyundai Santa Fe were upgrades on the Highlander and would have cost me $5000 more. I am extremely satisfied with my Santa Fe & highly recommend it to anyone looking for this type of SUV. Even my car snob brother-in-law who works for Honda USA is impressed with the style and quality of the Santa Fe. It's very affordable, drives great and looks great. I get 18 mpg in town, wish that was more but not too bad. Buy one, you won't regret it.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!
I know that Hyundai has been carrying a stigma of a "Cheap Ride" for some time now. However, they maybe more competitive in the price range but lead the pack in qaulity, performance, style availabilty of options as standard equipment and nothing beats the warranty.

GREAT SUV
FEEL COMFORTABLE-SAFE-AT AFFORDABLE PRICE. PLEANTY OF FEATURES AND STORAGE. ENGINE IS NOT A MONSTRER-BUT GETS JOB DONE AND HAVE NOT FELT SLUGGISH--ALWAYS PERFORMS.
Aas good as Japanese cars
Been driving excellent Japanese cars for 30 years. My SantaFe is as good as any I've ever had. Tows my 3000 lbs boat better than Toyata or Isuzu. Great features & no problems at 20K miles. Very solid vehicle and fun to drive. Would like to have a real manual shift, but beats a straight automatic. I have front wheel drive so I get about 23 MPG with the 3.5 liter with loads of power. Love it...
Best Vehicle I Have Ever Owned
Love it! It handles like an expensive European sedan, but is "off road" tough. Quite a buy for the money.
My 2004 Hyundai
I've had my 2004 Santa Fe for 5 1/2 months now. My prior vehicle was totalled in an accident and I had not planned to have to purchase a vehicle any time soon; however, I have no regrets over purchasing my Santa Fe! My biggest compliment is how well is does on gas mileage. It also drives very smoothly--more like a car! I never worry about getting somewhere safely I have also aken it down South, and it handled just fine on the road.
Hyundai = Fun day
Awesome!
Best small SUV on the market currently
Read this Before Buying!
I have owned this car for over a month now. I have had Zero problems with this vehicle and am getting 4 miles more a gallon than the sticker said. My family loves it. I can keep up with freway traffic and tow my waverunner with ease. I had a great experience at the dealership, paid under invoice and feel great about my investment. I would stongly recomend this suv.
Great Car!
Bought mine in August 2001. I now have almost 58,000 miles on it and still have the original tires. I will be replacing them soon, but should easily get 62,000 miles out of them. I drive over 100 miles per day for my commute and average about 24 mpg. I have had absolutely no problems from this vehicle. It has never been in the shop except for routine maintenance. My wife will be buying a car this fall and I doubt we look any further than the Hyundai dealership for her next vehicle.
Jake
Its well thought out design
Santa Fe
Very good value, solid chassis.
Sorta Beware
This vehicle is great, except that it burns oil. Hy. Corp said that it is normal to burn 1 QT / 1000 miles. Don't buy into this. It took 2 months to finally get the Corporation to fix it. Now the dealership is tearing down the engine to find out the problem. Other than the burning of oil, I have enjoyed this vehicle, especially in the snow, where it plowed through 1 1/2' of snow.
2001 and 2004 Owners
This is my second SantaFe. I thought the first one was great. (Passed it on to my college daughter and she loved it too.) Yhey have tweaked just enough things to make the 2004 noticeably better. Power steering is smoother than our 2001, heating/air conditioning system seems more efficient and easier to operate, stereo is improved. We were glad we had upgraded from the 4 cylinder to the 6 when we went through Colorado last week! Fuel economy is still a pleasant surprise for an SUV, maybe not record breaking but not budget breaking either!
Best Money I've Spent
The first major point, for me, was the warranty. No one can beat 5 yr bumper to bumper & 10 yr powertrain. The standard features are awesome. It came with everything; air, power locks and windows, automatic, cd, am/fm, tape... even a leather wrapped steering wheel! The interior is very roomy and it seems all the controls are set up perfect for the driver. Nothing overly confusing about the controls or their locations. The styling is chic. I did not want to buy an SUV that looked like a box. It has the perfect amount of cargo space. The area behind the back seat is huge. Not to mention, the back seat folds down completely flat for more space.
My Second Santa Fe
This is my second Santa Fe. Originally owned the 2002 fwd LX but wanted the bigger engine and 4wd. Also got the sunroof, woodgrain interior and running boards. This car has been great. It offers a compiant ride, good handling and many safety features including side air bags. No wonder Hyundai is tied with Honda for Initial Quality. Buy it...you won't regret it!
MOVE OVER JAPAN
THIS IS THE BEST VEHICLE FOR THE MONEY & FOR DRIVING. HYUNDAI GIVES THE BEST OF EVERYTHING IN THIS VEHICLE. STYLING, PERFORMANCE, FUEL ECONOMY AND ALL THE EMENITIES YOU COULD WANT.
my review
Driver sea should be electric adjustable and be able to move back more than it can
unbelievable car and value
my hyundai santa fe has impressed me so much that i now own two hyundai's. more options for less money. since i have purchased my car, j.d powers and assoc. has done nothing but rave about the entire product line that hyundai makes. that really makes me feel good about the cars that i own.
Santa Fe
This is our first brand new SUV and we love it. It is everything I want in a vehicle. The safety rating is a plus. It's warranty is a plus. We have installed a DVD player in it for our children and they love it. My 2 year old calls it mommy's Santa Fe. It is very comfortable to drive. I love the roomy trunk and the space it has.
Drive, you decide!
Prior to purchasing this vehicle, we looked at Subarus. As I was on my fourth and was very pleased with the vehicle. I did a lot of research on both vehicles and we felt as far as value goes, we could not go wrong with our purchase of a 2003 Santa Fe LX AWD. The warranty told us that the Company was going to be here down the road. Hyundai Industries, has a lot of money behind them and as soon as they find their niche in the marketplace, you will find this vehicle, retailing for at least 3000.00 more.
Love my Sante Fe
We looked at many vehicle comparisons in searching out the perfect one for us. Much exhausting research to be confident in our decision. After looking at dealerships, searching on line, and auto shows,we feel we absolutly choose the best of the rest in our Sante Fe. It is the best value for what you get in it. After driving cars all our lives, we wondered how we would like driving a SUV. Suffice to say, we will only buy SUVs in the furure. Our Sante Fe is truly fun to drive, and has great looks and features for the price.
My 2nd Santa Fe
I own a 2002, and a 2003 Santa Fe, and am getting ready to purchase a 2004. I love the car, only flaw I have seen so far is for some reason the Headlights dim and then brighten up and this is done repeatedly every time using the lights, other than that this SUV is great.
I love my Sante Fe
This is the first new car that I have ever bought that hasn't had to be taken back to the dealer to fix incidentals. Nothing has ever been wrong, or unfinished. I am from Detroit, so this is my first foreign car.
Excellent Vehicle
My Santa Fe is the best vehicle i have ever owned. It is comfortable, easy to drive. Has lots of room and the children i have had in my car like the comfortable seats, as do I. I have a ruptured disc on my tailbone. in this vehicle i am so comfortable. I am excited each time I get in it because I know I Will enjoy the ride. I am so pleased with my Santa Fe I have been recommending it to everyone searching for a new vehicle. I have never done that at all.
Shopped for 1.5 years
I got th FW drive and the 3.5 Liter engine. I discovered that the FW drive can tow more weight than the 4WD. I don't plan to go off the road anyway and if the snow gets to deep I'll wait till it melts. You cant beet the warantee. 10yrs OR 100,000 miles power traine.
Frugal, but it's a workhorse
Traded in a Lincoln.Needed room for more hauling.lawn tools, retaining wall blocks,back-fill mat.topsoil and mulch just to name a few items. Also took it on vac. to beach, carried our stuff plus 2 other couples luggage, golf clubs, beach stuff and 4 coolers.Has proven to be a good all around SUV. Also great in the snow!
May be a repeat buyer
My 2001-5 speed Santa Fe sticker price was the same as some other used vehicles I looked at. Styling is sharp, interior space is best in catagory, performance and handeling are good for a small SUV
longshot buyer
i took a longshot on this purchase, ive only had it a week not much to complain or compliment on at the this time. i own a 2002 trailblazer for 2 years and thats what i traded in for the santa fe. now being that i just left a 300 hp suv its hard to critized a smaller suv at this time but i am amazed that gas milelage only differs about 2 to 3 miles the santa should give more gas milage. so far so good first 400 miles hope the next 400 is something to brag on. (hello shreveport la.) LOL
Sante Fe Irritation
We are not getting near the gas mileage as listed by the manufacturer and find this very disappointing. We are irritated enough about it that we have discussed trading it in to get another (more expensive) vehicle of the same size which gets better mileage. Although I really do not like the exterior design we were pleased with the overall performance, interior looks, and handling. It has lots of pep.
Great new Santa Fa
After trying several others, was drawn back to the Santa Fe. Room & handling was great. Warrenty was major reason also.
Go for it
No question about it. So far this is a great vehicle at an even better price. The finish, trim, and fit are more than what one would look for in a higher priced vehicle.
Pathbreaking SUV from Hyundai Santa Fe
Great ride. Superb Interior features. Great Exterior Styling. Roomy Interior. Overall Value for Money.
I like my Santa Fe!!!
I had researched and compared several SUVs and found out that for the money I was getting more SUV. I had owned a Sonata several years ago and was quite satisfied. I drove both the 4 cylinder AND the 6 cylinder and found no difference in the pick up. IT'S A GREAT SUV. The 4 cylinder I choose has a jerking motion when ideling for a while....is this normal. I HAVE noticed that more people are going to the compact SUVs now due to size AND gas milage. I made a GREAT choice. Thanks...Clee
My Santa Fe
This is one of the most reliable vehicles I have owned. I was in a horrible crash (T-bonedI was doing 40 she was 20, I did not flip), and the other vehicle was totaled (front end torn off) my Santa Fe looked remarkable. A blown tire, dented (inside) door, and the axle. Other then that, I have replaced a few fuses. That's it. I love driving it. Quick pick up, handles great around sharp corners, looks sharp on the outside, inside features easy to reach, comfortability OK.
My 1st brand new truck
I bought my Santa Fe in May of 2003. My first new truck from a dealership. I was so excited. I drove home and it was making a hissing sound under the hood. Called the next day, the told me I can bring it there in 2 weeks. I was so upset. Brand new car making noise for 2 weeks. Turns out it was a bad belt. Ok, this is a beautiful little truck. I do enjoy it. Its reliable and drives nicely. The only complaint I have and I see others have is that there is absolutely NO pick up.
Great SUV
I bought the Santa Fe and the next day drove from Utah to Florida totally loaded and it did great. I kept it under 60 mph and varied the speed during the first 500 hundred miles but got some of the best mpg. I did have one problem in Florida with the engine light. The dealer down there thought it was because the gas cap wasn't tightened at least three clicks and it took the mechanics to reset the light to get it turned off. Then light has not come on again since then. Really a fun car to drive.
Great Santa Fe
I love my Santa Fe Lx. It has so many extras. I have leather interior with seat heaters, a great sound system, and it runs great on the highway. You have to watch the speed or you will catch yourself going too fast.
MUCH better than my Saturn SC1
I have wanted a Santa Fe for the last 5 years and was finally able to afford one. The exterior styling has European grace and sleekness, and the cost is more than reasonable. The ride and steering are excellent, and I will be able to fit my toddler niece and nephew triplets all in the back seat in their car seats, and have room up front for an adult!
Great Vehicle
This is a great vehicle at a great price. Very stylish with lots of room.
What a dream car for the price
I love this car I find the ride to be smooth, even on long trips! I also feel Hyundai has taken the time to place all creature comforts perfectly in any drivers reach and fit any drivers wallet. I never imagined myself at 25 driving a brand new suv. Even in the 2.7 size engine I feel the power of this beast but also feel I am in complete control. My Santa Fe feels like safe and sturdy luxury all around me, unlike when I am in my other halfs toyota rav 4 (I feel like I'm in a can of pepsi!) The amount of room is amazing for cargo and people. Only my other half is quite tall he needs a bit more room.
santa fe 2004
its great ,and excellent
Great Choice
After driving a minivan for 12 years, this car is a treat! Bought it in Jan. and I have driven it in all kinds of weather and on every type of road from highway to dirt/gravel and still have nothing negative to report. Very good traction on icy/snow. If all goes well, I'll be sending my son off to college in this car in a couple of years and feel that he will have a safe ride.
its a cool car
this car is a very confortable and economic vehicle. its great for a familly vehicle. The only thing is that it uses too much fuel.
Exellent
The Sante Fe is the best vechicle we have owned in a long time. It handles really well in the snow. And onlong trips it is very comfortable to ride in.The overall mechanical perforamce is exellent. We have had alot of people comment on the looks of it. And alot of people ask us all about it overall. My family loves this vechicle. Thank you for making suce a wonderful suv.Sincerly The Odland family.
I love it!!!!!
After many hours of searching for the replacement for our 98 Windstar mini- van. We decided that the best option was a smaller sized SUV. We have 2 children but no longer needed the room for car seats/strollers/etc... The Santa Fe was the perfect fit. I drive over 80 miles a day during the week...and probably another 80 combined on Sat & Sun...so I need something reliable and comfortable to drive. I'm thrilled with my choice!!
mine
No problems, had owned Hyundai xg350 and this is good car
?
awesome truck...i have a 2002 hyundai santa fe in the bronze color..4wd and a 2.7 liter v-6
fun to drive and a great value
I actually own a 2002 Santa Fe. It's one of the best cars I've ever owned. I live lived in upstate ny all my life. We had a horrible winter last year. Snow falls up to 24" 2 weeks in a row. Never once spun the tires. The car perfomred perfectly and I didn't even have to use the AWD. Impressed by that and its overall reliability. Great ride and economical for a SUV. I would not hesitate in buying another.
My dream car
I researched and research and test drove and test drove and finally settled on the Santa Fe. Boy am I happy. Her name is Carmen and she runs just like a dream. I am looking forward to many happy years driving her.
