Used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport SUV Consumer Reviews
the ultimate
I test drove the Toyota rav4, Toyota Highlander, Toyota 4runner,Kia Sorento, Jeep Grand Cherokee, BMW x3, Mercedes GLC. My new Sante Fe is more thoughtfully designed designed and is by far the best SUV for the price.

A pretty face wth a dark side
Pros: Good looks inside and out. Some touches, such as Apple Play are nice. The turbo provides decent acceleration if power isn't needed instantly. The vehicle is quiet. Cons: Poor headlights, horrible audio system (I had to upgrade both). Steering is mediocre, as are the brakes. However, these I can still live with. The biggest, most dangerous issue is stumbling when power is suddenly needed at low speeds in heavy traffic situations (e.g., changing lanes). The powertrain will "die" for three seconds and then suddenly deliver full power with a lurch. This stumbling is dangerous and makes the car unsafe. Lots of others have reported the same on the NHTSA website. The dealer said "shouldn't have bought a Hyundai". Its my fault for not having detected this during the test drive, which was on open roads, Please test drive the car at low speeds, say 5 mph, and then suddenly press the accelerator; you'll experience the stumbling.

Great value
Before i bought santa fe sport fully loaded , i did test drive Jeep GC, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX5, nissan murano. Of all these Santa fe sport out smart all others in every aspect. It is has so many safety features for the money. The tech safety features works great including a navigation system offers without distractions. The interior is spacious with seating for 5 and lot of cargo space.

Honest review from a professional
I bought the Santa Fe Sport because of good exterior looks and value-based pricing. I paid $28.5k plus tax for a 2.0t turbo which is a great price. I provide some pros and cons so that buyers can make an informed decision. Pros: Good looks, great value. The 2.0t engine provides adeuate power and is very smooth while cruising. The black interior is quite nice, and the dark blue exterior is also a great color. I like the Apple Carplay very much. Exterior and interior design are aesthetically great, though not functionally as good (more on this later). The car has been reliable so far, but I have less than 6k miles on it. Cons: The paint has a lot of orange peel, not Toyota or Honda quality. The sound system is horrible and needs, at a minimum, a subwoofer since the OEM system has no bass. However this can be easily fixed. Headlights, steering, ride quality are average. Difficult for me to get the left elbow to find a comfortable position on the door rest while driving. Biggest con: Significant stumbling and hesitation at low speeds when acceleration is suddenly needed, such as changing lanes, or turning left in the presence of oncoming traffic when quick response is needed. The car will stumble for 2-3 seconds while the control software tries to decide what to do, followed by a sudden lurch of overwhelming power. VERDICT: Quite a pleasant car with good value if you can live with the engine hesitation.
