Used 2021 Hyundai Elantra Sedan Consumer Reviews
Its Nice Untill Its Not
Bought 2021 Elantra in the spring and have had it about 7 months. Its a nice looking car with all the tech at an affordable price. BUT, it is not without issue. The sensors and electronics have always been a little quirky from the first moment. Headlights switching on and off randomly, blind spot warning going off for no reason, frontal collision warning going off for things on the side of the road and my least favorite, the emergency braking system going off because of the lanes swaying some on a highway. Lane departure assist doesn't like construction barriers either. I ended up turning as much of these off as possible within the first month. As well, a few times it has failed to start but started on the second try. The final straw was it suddenly had every single emergency light going off, all the electronics out, power steering out, and even the outside temperature reader out. It still drove.. but obviously not as intended. Good news is its not hard to drive without power steering.. A Hyundai representative actually told me that due to Covid, some of their quality control measures were lacking. Then told me that when one sensor goes.. they all go. A design choice made by Hyundai for the 2021 models. I gave it two stars simply because it is a nice car and I enjoy being able to start it remotely with climate control settings. Unfortunately, I do regret buying this as it has already needed repairs and been a major inconvenience.

Weak A/C, not blowing cold enough
It's GREAT in every way except one main feature. The A/C does not put out ice-cold air. When I'm driving in 84+ degree weather, the A/C peters out, and I start to sweat. So disappointing. I hope there will be a recall.

Chronic problem
Vehicle did several lockouts I had to enter the vehicle through the app and when it does this the Collision light is on they can't find any problem wrong with it I just know that I can't move the car for like 8 hours and then it'll go off and then everything is fine it did that about four times the main kicker is when I was driving down 95 Expressway good thing it was at night Collision light was activated and car just stopped the corporation the dealership is aware of the problem but they can't do anything about it because they don't see any codes I'm just driving this car and wondering what's going to happen next but I must say the Elantra is not all that bad we purchased two we purchased one the day before and then the one that I'm having problems with the next day the one that we purchased the day before same as that model it's giving us no problems this one I don't know if this car is going to kill me and the dealership will not swap me out because I purchased another Elantra before this model was basic I told them when the premiums come in let me know they did they reassured me that nothing from the old loan will be adding on to the new loan but of course I was lied to but that was my fault I should have read everything but trusting the finance manager this is what that gets me you would think that they would do the right thing just by just walking the car out but no it's all about money so I would just continue driving this vehicle wondering one day will it kill me or someone else oh yeah Hyundai Corporation they're willing to do a buyback but leave me with no vehicle and a $14,000 balance over my head it's not going to happen
