Regret the whole thing

Purchased a 2021 Elantra from Hyundai and within 2 weeks, had problems with the car shaking and check engine light came on. Took it in and they said it was bad gas but never syphoned it and ended up having to bring it back two more times. Turns out there were several misfires and then they really did nothing when I brought it in the 3rd time and it sat there for a day and a half. I brought the car home since the dealership wasn’t working to help and they wouldn’t do a collateral swap and tonight, the engine started starting up on its own so we parked it far from the house with the hood popped open so it wouldn’t start up and if it did it wouldn’t catch the house on fire.

Great model

I love the shape and style of the new Elantra’s. They have more of a sporty look. Some models have a bar or handle that goes in the middle of the front seats. My dad who is a bigger man didn’t like it as a passenger but said it acted like a second “oh crap” handle. Overall I love the car and the gas mileage is great

Not my first Hyundai, but will be my last

After discovering pools of clear, relatively thick fluid on my garage floor under the engine of my 2021 Elantra SEL, and taking it to the dealership three times, each resulting in misdiagnoses (oil filter leak-which wasn't the problem), faulty rear main engine seal-again, not the problem AFTER removing the transmission to access the rear seal), it was finally determined it needs a new transmission...after only 7,000 mi. Hyundai has approved the warranty coverage and it's been sitting at the dealership waiting on a new trans now for more than 40 days. I was recently told by the service manager that there's another 2021 Elantra that had been brought in with the same issue. It's now solidly within the lemon law requirements, but since I'm leasing it through Hyundai USA, I'm hoping the dealership will step up and either get me into a new car, or since I'm in Alabama and Elantras are assembled at the Hyundai plant in Montgomery which is only 200 mi away from my dealership, request authorization for Hyundai to send a new trans from Montgomery, take care of a paying customer, and get my car back on the road asap. I don't understand the reason for this ridiculous delay and I certainly don't want to continue making lease/insurance payments on a car that I can't drive as the result of Hyundai's manufacturing issues. Love the styling and everything else, but what's a cool looking car that's undrivable?! Not a happy camper.

Super gas milage

I've had my 21 SE for about 6 months. It's been dead reliable and runs good in the heat or way cold. I've already got almost 12000 miles on it. It gets over 40 mpg and at 6 ft 4 it's comfortable for me.heat and air work great. I love the cvt trans which has 3 modes and can be shifted manuly also. I owned a 1966 olds Tornado and the styling of this car reminds me of that car. I love the look. I live in Oklahoma on route 66 and there are large grasshoppers in warm weather that sit on the road. I noticed at about 2000 miles the hoppers were damaging the ac condenser when they went through the grill. I dropped the inspection shield under the front bumper and made a custom condenser guard out of rabbit wire and it keeps them from damaging the condenser. I'm 68 years old and drive the car about 80 miles a day to work and back. I can only say I love the car

It has all the bells and whistles except leather seats. Great gas mileage. Buy it!
