Used 2016 Hyundai Elantra Sedan Consumer Reviews
Gas mileage of a prius but better looks
Bought a used 2016 base model elantra with 117k miles, yes it was high but 1 owner and used as a company car so mostly freeway miles. Came with a 1yr 16k warranty from dealer and thank god i got that because it needed a new transmission within the first 2 weeks of buying it. Didn't cost me anything and now have a new transmission and running strong. I get around mid 30s in town and mid 40s on the freeway which for a non hybrid is amazing! My only issues with it are the hard seats, no bluetooth or reverse cam, and no auto headlights which for a base model should be standard. I'm getting seat covers for it and i mounted an 8" tablet on the dash linked to aux via bluetooth adapter and now have everything i need via apps so if you want a cheap stereo upgrade thats the way to go. Overall if your looking for a cheap sporty commuter car or lyft/uber car this is perfect for you.

Love It!
I love my car! It's fantastic to drive. Acceleration is good, steering is sharp and accurate, and the throttle response is very good. Gas mileage is phenominal. I regularly get 32 mpg or so (mixed highway and city, about 50-50). I got 40 mpg during an almost all highway trip to the beach and back. The interior is huge for a car that size and the trunk is more than ample. It's well equipped for the price (I have the Value Edition with the sunroof and heated seats). I love the red metallic paint color. Cost of ownership has so far been very low (just the usual, regular oil changes and the like). I haven't had any issues driving in bad weather (I live in Pennsylvania, so I've driven in pretty bad conditions), but I also keep good tires on it. I really can't say that I dislike anything about my car really. The only downside is that the ride is a little stiff, but in the end, it's to be expected...it's a little economy car...not a Cadillac. Overall, I love my little red Elantra and would recommend this car to anyone!

Reliable
I have been driving this 2016 Hyundai Elantra for the last 6 years and it’s the first car I have ever owned that hasn’t messed with me! This SE has the 6 speed manual. All I have ever done with this car is routine stuff! Including the transmission fluid changes. Good idea to change out the brake fluid every 4 years or so. That fluid is also for your clutch. My only real gripe is it’s almost criminally under powered. Plan for lane changes in advance.! That aside, I’m driving the wheels off it! 😊

Great Car
My first Hyundai was not my choice. I was upset when it was given to me. It had a salvage tile & I was mad. I said I’m selling it & getting what I like. I kept it for 3 years, Then I had a Mercedes, and now I’m back in a Hyundai. Great reliable cars and always my first pick. My roomate has a Tuscan and I love his car. Living in WA that Tuscan can really hold it’s own in the snow. My Hyundai is not a very good in snow….it’s too low to the ground.
