Used 2019 Honda Odyssey Minivan Consumer Reviews
Not your old style reliable Odyssey anymore
Bought a brand new 2018 Odyssey EX -L around August 2017. The battery is died last night. It’s only two years and three months, but have 44,000 miles on it. Honda dealer ship could not do anything because it’s out of 36,000 miles warranty. The dealer said Honda is very strict on the battery replacement. But I’d better call Honda at 800-999-1009, I might get better chance to resolve this issue. I called Honda, they said the policy is very strict on battery because too much technology gages in the Odyssey, so the battery died much faster. Situation like mine is not unusual, so they can not do anything about it. This is 4th Odyssey I’ve ever owned. all other three are reliable. But not those new Odyssey, they through too much crap Technology into it which cause trouble. You pay a lot more money, got a lot more troubles as well. Very very disappointed.

Defective Infotainment System as well
Great car mechanically, smooth ride, easy to drive, good on gas most of the time. The infotainment system has been defective since our first week, honda dealer in our area said they know nothing about it, it cuts out while driving, freezes while driving which also knocks out the cars back up camera. The only fix is pulling the fuse for a hard reset of the system - There is NO other solution, honda knows about the flaw and chooses not to fix it. I joined a class action lawsuit just like everyone else, thousands and thousands of flawed vehicles with potential safety issues. I'm sorry honda, I may never purchase one of your cars again.

Just a few changes needed
I love my new 2019 Honda Odyssey. The only two things I don't like. No stow-n-go for the middle seats. I hate the big lump in the middle of the floor (when seats have been removed) and the fact you have to store the seats outside the vehicle when not using them. Chrysler owns the patent that is why and it's disappointing. The second thing ; the open/close button for the side doors & hatch is located on the drivers side close to the window which makes it inconvenient for the passenger to open or unlock the door for the driver. It should be centrally located like it is in the Chrysler Town & Country / Pacifica.

2019 odyssey issues
I read most reviews and didn’t find two of my mentioned so decided to share. First issue is problem with making phone calls using hands free link. When I make call- person on another end can hear me but cannot hear passenger but when someone calls me they can hear me and passenger. Second issue is a paddle shifters. They are too close to the steering wheel and many times when I have to turn it around quickly I always push them by accident on left side shifting down few gears and it is killing transmission. Can’t believe that Honda engineers would make something so dumb because I am Honda man this is my 5th. Honda. Maybe it is time to switch to Toyota
