Used 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L 4dr Minivan w/Navigation and Rear Entertainment System (3.5L 6cyl 9A) Consumer Reviews
Good car with few kinks
Update after 3 years: Vehicle is still good, a number of recalls and failures which have been covered by warranty. A little worried about future repairs out of warranty. Original Review: Really like the Odyssey, it drives more like a car than a minivan. Only complaint is that the Climate Control cannot be in Auto mode while Recirculate is on. As a result have to choose between climate control and recirculate. If I choose the former, exhaust fumes enter the cabin, if I choose the latter, the glass fogs up. Also, the USB Audio can only read drives upto 16GB! Other than that, been happy with the vehicle.

REAR AC AIRFLOW IS AWFUL FOR REAR FACING CARSEAT
We leased a 2016 Honda Odyssey, and we loved it. My wife really liked the newly refreshed look in 2018, so we ended our lease early, and got the 2018. Everything is pretty good in this vehicle and not much changed from 2016, but Honda made a major mistake with the rear air flow design. The old model vans had air vents on the roof, but Honda moved them to the pillar by the push-button for the automatic sliding doors. It has not even been hot yet (barely into the mid-80's) here in South Carolina, and every time we get our 1 year old out of the carseat, she is drenched in sweat. We were so disappointed and tried everything, but there is no way to get the air flow to the front of our daughter. Even our 2.5 year old that is forward facing complains that she has very little air flow. The other really annoying problem is that Honda moved the air conditioning motor for the rear ventilation to the front dash console. My wife and I cannot even talk, nor hear our daughters in the back ever because we have the vents in the back at the highest setting to give any sort of relief to the girls in the back. I called Honda, and stated that we were disappointed and would like to end our lease early. Their response? Ok, come drop it off and pay the remaining lease payments at that time. I was in shock. If it weren't for the good resale value of this vehicle, we would be screwed. Luckily with our down payment, terms, etc. on the lease, we can sell this car outright and break-even. This is such a major oversight, especially when vans are supposed to be for all-around comfort to all passengers. Lastly, Honda really needs to adjust the capabilities of the rear entertainment system. Unless you have your kids on headphones in the back, you cannot listen to music in the front and let the kids watch their movies in the back. It is not possible to tell a 1 and 2 year old to put on headphones, and to understand the volume levels to ensure they are not deafening themselves as a parent in the front. It only took a quick 4 hour drive to the beach to realize what an annoyance that was to only be able to listen to the girls watching Disney movies for the entire drive. The couple issues Honda missed the ball on here are pretty basic an obvious; so much so that I am actually shocked at the ignorance. We don't even like the look of the Sienna, but it looks like we are switching to a Toyota just to make sure our kids don't overheat in the back seat over the summer.

Vans over suvs/crossovers
Coming from a 2012 Pilot, this van is is much more practical than my previous vehicles. This is my first mini van and I’m hooked. The Odyssey is my wife’s primary vehicle. UPDATE: Many electrical issues and transmission problems all before the warranty was out. This van left my family stranded multiple times. I sold the van while I could. I was a die hard Honda fan, but this purchase ruined it for me. I’m sticking with Toyota now.

Overall great vehicle
We have only had it for a month but don't have any real complaints! The only thing I really miss is the middle row seats laying down flat. The new model only tilts forward and slides.

Love it!
We have had it one month and still getting used to it a bit, but generally love it so far. This is our second Honda Odyssey. The only two things that I've noticed so far is that going from 1st to 2nd gear it's not completely smooth. It doesn't really bother me but once you are past 2nd gear it's as smooth as can be which is why I've noticed a slight difference. The second thing is the entertainment system, when using XM radio, it will periodically jump to a station upon starting the car that I did not select (ex: Country or Korean Radio). I have found that I have to challenge myself to use the steering wheel controls as the touch panel your eyes get drawn to it longer than you probably want from the road to make selections. There are several features that you cannot engage in while driving & I understand the safety precautions driving this, but it is slightly frustrating.
