Used 2016 Honda Odyssey Minivan Consumer Reviews
Just keeps delivering no matter what
We bought our Odyssey new in late 2015 and have since put over 50k miles on it. It continues to serve daily family activity (4 young kids) extremely well. We’ve found it reliable, versatile, and comfortable for around town errands, etc. As an active family I think we have a unique perspective of “getting the most” out of the cars capabilities. We added an OEM roof rack (self-installed, very easy and well made) and a dealer installed trailer tow package. We load it up with bikes on a hitch-mount rack regularly, and the kids have done their best to abuse the interior with food, dirt, and general abuse but the seats and other materials have held up remarkably. Most recently we took a 4,000 mile road trip across 10 states, spanning 2 weeks. Through steep mountain climbs the car remained stable and confident, keeping up with spirited mountain traffic going 80+ mph, fully loaded with gear for a family of six and a roof-top cargo box. It’s been a solid member of our family and I look forward to many years and miles ahead with this capable family hauler!

Poor cargo option
Middle seats are supposed to come out for cargo hauling. I find it impossible to get them in or out without dealer assistance even with the user manual. Why make the seat design too difficult for users to operate? On that subject, the entertainment center is way too complex for the driver to navigate while driving. Surprised that Honda would do this. These items put a big damper on an otherwise nice vehicle.

Did I get a lemon?
Walked out one day and the running board on the drivers sides was hanging down. Didn't get hit or hit anything. Did drive over a dirt road with washboards. I was able to clip it back on but don't trust that it will stay on. Then washing my car I noticed some of the clips on my font bumper were overlapping and visible (they should not be visible). Again I didn't hit anything. Perhaps some one backed into me but couldn't find any marks on the bumper. Then notced the back bumper on one side looked to be pulling away. The only thing I think that could have caused it is driving on a dirt road. Seems like it should be built to withstand that. Second issue is poor sound system. I have the SE model with the rear entertainment system. Well kids keep complaining that they cant hear the movie when I put the sound through the car speakers. Guess what there aren't any speakers in the back. What was Honda thinking on this one. This is my second Honda odyssey, loved the first, drove it for 200K miles over 10 years. Bought a new 2016 and seriously regret it.

Honda EX
This is a good car for the family. However, Honda is using relatively poor material in this EX trim to cut cost and keep the price competitive
