Good van for the price

I got a good deal on a 04 Odyssey LX with 55,000 miles on it so I chose it over the more expensive Sienna. In the three months I've owned it I have been impressed with the power, roominess, handling, and reliability. This van will keep up with the traffic with no strain, even in the mountains of NC. Handling is good and it really sticks to the road but the ride on mine is not smooth. You can use the van to do some pretty hefty hauling with the 3rd row seat in the floor and and the 2nd row moved out. With the seats up it seats 7 fairly comfortably. The little lug wrench that comes with the van wouldn't budge the lugs when I had a flat. Overall I have been pleased with the van.

Just had the transmission replaced by the dealer at 84,000. Vehicle was purchased new and serviced regularly at local Honda dealer. Even brought in at 50,000 miles due to concerns I had with the transmission but everything "checked out". Unfortunately my vehicle wasn't including under an earlier transmission recall but Honda did cover a chunk of the $4100 trans repair. Steering wheel radio controls don't always work and driver side rear power vent window does not work. When vehicle was in for transmission replacement was also told that motor mounts needed to be replaced for approx $700. Never had motor mount or transmission issues with any other vehicle, including 4 other Hondas

I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. It has a transmission problem which the mechanic ackowledges but says cannot be fixed as the part has a faulty design. It knocks, or slips, at midspeeds. I also find the car to be very road noisy. The AC does not blow very cold and the gas mileage stinks. Wish I had never bought it - would not recommend it to anyone. PS _ this is my second one - the first was returned to the dealer after 2 days when it too had a transmission problem which required it to be towed. Should have taken the hint then and run.

We absolutely love this van! It is a big change from the Kia Sephia we were driving. I feel like we got a very good deal on it and it was in like new condition with the occassional scratches for a 4yr old van. It drives and handles wonderfully. I love the heated seats and the dvd plays great. My only complaint is that I wish the back tailgate would lift and close more smoothly. Other than that I love it! Gas mileage is 20-25 depending on where I am driving. It is very spacious and I like that you can move the 2 middle captain seats around or take them out. And also that the back seats lowers down for more space. This is a Great van! No way could we have paid the new sticker price for it.

This car has been used up in NH which is rough on cars. I have had to replace the AC compressor twice. AC Compressors cost around $1200-$1400 to fix. Both times it has stranded my family on a main road. AC is lousy unless youre in the front seat. Other issues have cropped up such as leaking engine mounts and various electronic issues. Cant recall the last time the rear windows worked. Bullet proof reliability? Ride is very stiff and noisy. I think Honda just doesn't report their problems. Don't drink the Imports are better than Kool-aid. This mini-van is no better than a domestic model or a Sienna.
