Best car ever!!!!
I've owned infinity' s and Lexus most of my 'driving' life. Great cars. Then when my son was ready to go off to college we bought him a FIT. It was so much fun I stole it from him and gave him my old G20.
I Love It
I have just over 1,000 miles on it. First three tanks gave me 37, 39, and 38 MPG respectively. It handles like a sports car but has the cargo volume if/when you need it. The seats and instruments are tops.

It definitely Fits
After driving vans for 17 years, I needed to buy a car for me. This little car is a blast to drive. I spend many hours driving my kids all over, and you cannot beat the gas mileage. It handles the road like a much heavier car, and is surprisingly roomy inside. I absolutely love it!
What a great FIT for me!
Absolutely zero mechanical problems after 100,000 miles. Roomy interior can fit furniture, bikes, and luggage other SUV's, trucks and large vehicles cannot. Handles really well, and driver visibility is great. Car vibrates heavily above 80mph. Outstanding gas mileage. Low chassis clearance requires caution with curbs, potholes, etc. Could use a little more legroom, like my 1993 Civic. Overall awesome, efficient, practical, useful, solid, high quality.

Fit to Drive
I bought a Sport MT in June. I live near Cripple Creek Colorado and drive to the Springs.(104Mi, 2 Hr) I average 42 MPG. Power up the pass is adequate.I recently drove to Georgia and found that when I exceeded 65 mph my mileage dropped to 35 to 38. At lower altitude it was noticibly more powerful. Wind and large trucks did not seem to effect it.The radio is great. It looks small but is roomy inside and a hoot to drive. Handling is a little stiff but sure. It's not intended to be a luxury car. My first snow experience tested the highway treads standard on this car. I will change them before next winter. Fit and finish is beautiful. Ride is quiet with room to haul all your stuff.
Internal Door Rust - Door Lock Failures
I have garaged my FIT nightly and weekends in Massachusetts. My driver's side rear door after locking would not open with key, door pull, outside handle, or inside handle. With 35,000 miles and 37 months of ownership cost me $465 to have door forced open and entire lock / motor mechanism replaced due to severe rusting on mechanism. Makes me wonder if recalls for SRS Air bag failure due to water and the more recent drivers door electrical switches for water shorting indicate if there are leaks in the doors. Now concerned other 3 doors will need lock replacements. Has anyone else had the lock failures on their Fit? If yes check or ask about server rusting as a cause.
Exceeds expectations
Everything fits in my Fit. It's comfortable, quiet, and fuel efficient. This car exceeds all my expectations and makes me wonder why so many others are paying so much more to get less value than I have with my Fit. It may be small but it doesn't look or feel like a low priced car. I'm proud to own and drive my Honda Fit!
Honda's little roller skate!
The Fit is a great urban runabout that was purchased to replace a 2002 Corolla. Reliability has been 100% over the first 30,000 miles. Comfortable front seats, easy gear change with the 5-speed stickshift. Engine is a bit short on torque, but then it's only a 1.5 liter. The OEM Dunlop tires were awful, and only lasted 18,000 rough and noisy miles. The replacement set of Coopers have been much smoother, quieter and better in the snow. Honda's fueling systems are so good that the car runs at 3,000 feet or 11,000 feet without any discernible difference. Would have bought the base model, but cruise control was not available - even as an option.
My Baby
Since I picked up my car, I have been completely satisfied with the performance, quality and comfort in operation. I work in the retail sector and have people stop me to find out about the car and its operation. I receive questions from all age groups. The biggest question has been how could they get so much room in the interior without squeezing things into a small vehicle. I love my "FIT" and it fits me fine.
nicely done
I really like the handling of this car. The fuel economy is a little lower than I expected. The 5 speed auto transmission shifts smoothly. The fit has a very roomy interior. I really like how the seats fold down.
Loved all 108,000 miles
This car is great for a young driver. I bought this car single, and at the point of trade-in I now have a 4 person family. This is a small car- don't expect it to haul lumber. However, I have hauled lumber. And tv's, strollers, a futon couch... this car will do it. Not for a big guy or a family of four, you will grow out of it very quickly because it is a small car. But we had this car for 10 years and I didn't have anything wrong with it, not a single mechanical issue. I do highly recommend this car- it was perfect for a long time. We traded it in to get something to haul more gear and friends but I have to say, I miss my baby.

Fun to drive and soo cute ! Awesome Gas mileage
I just wished she was taller. I get tired of hitting the dips, cars should not be made so low at 4 inches taller or more. But she is so roomy, we have 3 dogs and all fit back there perfectly. The seats never sit upright. She doesn't look roomy from the outside until you look inside. That is why she is a Fit, can fit everything !!
Keeps on going.....
I last posted a review in 2010. I still own this car and still love it. Knock on wood, I still have never taken it in for a repair (just routine maint), and it has 150k on it. I just calculated my mileage the other day, and, after driving some highway, some windy mtn roads, I was averaging 40.5 mpg!!!! That is amazing for a car of this age. Yes, the interior (like the floor "carpet") can be a little shoddy, but the seats have held up fine. When I wash it, it still looks like a new car. I have the 5-speed (wouldn't have an automatic with a 1.5L engine), and I have plenty of power for highway passing and climbing hills. When merging on the interstate, I can fly and blow past folks.
fit to drive
very easy to drive, park and maneuver. 1500 miles average mpg 32.8. needs a little bigger a/c. fabulous inside room for a small car. needs a cushioned armrest and small console between the frnt seats. overall i am extremely pleased with my choice of cars. recommend to any one with small family or "soccer moms".
Super Car
A powerful car - like a puppy straining at the leash. Compared to my old car, just touching the accelerator brings a surge of power. It took me a few days to get used to it and put on over 100 miles in the first week. I have only owned it for two and a half weeks but am in love with it.
Fit is Tops
The Fit is truly an excellent vehicle, and suberbly "fits" the role it is expected to do. It has a surprising amount of room in the vehicle, and with the back seats folded down, it can accept an amazing amount of cargo. Performance is also a big plus, with strong acceleration on freeway entrance ramps and for passing. Gasoline mileage is also very good. On a recent tank, with about 50% highway and 50% city driving, I got about 36 MPG. Driving at reasonable highway speeds will yield about 40+ MPG. Handling is also excellent, reminding me of my old Honda CRX Si. All of the above, coupled with comfortable seats, make the Fit a fun car to drive.
Love my Fit
My first brand new car - have normally driven v6s or v8s. Took time to get used to v4 engine, but once you figure it out, that's when the fun begins. It turns on a dime and the versatility of cargo space is incredible. I moved a friend with just my fit--she couldn't believe this little car that could!! Agree that the two back headrests cause blind spot and would have liked a moon or sun roof option but all in all, it's your best bang for the buck!! Not to mention the side curtain airbags and sound system which is pretty good for standard. Love my car and love the mileage!!
Just what I expected!
I waited 3 months for a vivid blue 5 speed, and I'm glad I did. I love the color and I can't stop looking at it. I've driven almost 1000 mile in the first 2 weeks and I love the handling and great gas mileage (36 MPG on 2nd tank with mix of hwy and city). The only way to go in this vehicle is a manual transmission and it is so much fun to drive. I had a 96 Honda Civic Hatchback before this and the fit is much more quiet on the highway. For such a small car there is so much space for everybody to "fit" comfortably in the back seat. I look forward to having this vehicle for a long time.
Honda Fit Sport
I purchased the Honda Fit Sport for the amazing interior cargo space, and that has proven to be a big plus! However - there are some things that I do not like - having driven it now for almost 5 months. The driver seat, for any driving time more then an hour, is very uncomfortable. The back lumbar support is great but the seat causes hip pain. The paint seems to be shoddy - in a couple of spots I believe I actually see the beginnings of rust, AND last but not least - the front spoiler! It is WAY too low! It scraped going in and out of a driveway - now it the paint is damaged! The driveway was in no way high - there were no bumps - it was just the pitch at the end.
Low maintenance car.
Gets good gas Milage 36-42 miles per gallon. Seats are very comfortable. Lots of room. Low maintenance. You can lay the back seats down to make more room in the trunk area to haul things. Have had this car 13 years and it still looks and runs great. It has over 100,000 miles on it. There has been very little that had to be repaired. Great car. I would buy another Honda Fit.

REGRET BUYING THIS CAR!
Terrible seats and driving position, no armrest nor left foot rest. Automatic transmission has a 3-4 second hesitation when you step down on it at low speeds, 2-4 mph, before it downshifts to 1st gear. This is very dangerous at intersections, and has almost gotten me t-boned on several occasions. They are all like this, according to Honda, who could care less. I drove 2 others and they have the same hesitation. Honda should be forced to recall the automatic Fits and fix this dangerous defect! This has really soured me on Honda, even though I had no problems with previous Hondas. Not enough power. Gas mileage less than expected. Handling, cargo capacity good. Can hardly wait to get rid of it!
Bought With A Purpose
I got a great price by shopping on- line. I bought the Honda Fit because I took a new job that has a commute of 200 miles per day. The commute is mostly highway and I average 36 MPG when adhering to the posted speed limit. When I go with the flow of traffic, I average 30 MPG. Responsive steering, smooth ride for a small car, interior roominess, a (standard) good sound system., great gas mileage and overall reliability are the reasons I bought this car. The only negative is the unimpressive paddle shifters on the steering wheel which can be accidentally activated with an errant finger movement, and they are functionally limited. They should remove them for their 2008 model.
Love it!
I didn't make the decision to purchase this car. It was the only car on the lot that fit my budget, I didn't even like the color (red) but I had no choice. However, I have not been disappointed, other than the low front bumper that I had to get repaired twice. (at no cost). I just recently took my littel red car to PA from VA. She did great!!! I filled up my tank once going and once leaving, without stopping for gas I made it to my destinations leaving 1/4 tank of gas. She drove smoothly, kept up with the flow of traffic, and I was comfortable because of the space in the car.
Excellent Design and Built
I am in Xiamen, China and have to manuveur often in limited spaces. Its short profile saves me tons of headache while its interior provides ample room. It rides better than any other cars in its price range. It's stylish, roomy, powerful, environment- friendly and versatile. For the price, many other auto makers may just give you barely a commuter vehicle.
Great car
I've had my Honda Fit Sport automatic just over a month. The gas mileage the first three tanks, all 75-80% city driving: 24.6, 23.7, 24.7 mpg, less than I had hoped for. In every other way, it has been terrific. The braking, steering, and acceleration from a city stop are all very sensitive and responsive. I had the goal of purchasing a safe, reliable, economical, environmentally friendly (qualifies as LEV) fun-to-drive and not exorbitantly expensive vehicle. I feel like that's what I have. I test drove Yaris, Versa, Mazda3 and researched many others. For the best price, I went about 75 miles out of Los Angeles after extensively contacting Honda dealers' internet sales folks.
Second Honda
My first car was a 90 Civic hatchback, so it's been interesting comparing the similarities and differences. Much easier to enter/exit, more useable space, much more power (even with auto). Having a small child, the rear seat height and tall roof make it relatively easy to put him in and out of the car seat. Took looong roadtrip with my wife and child and enjoyed the comfort of "relax mode" even with the trunk full of stuff. Great highway mileage (37-40), but city mileage has been lackluster for such a small car (23-26). So far, that has been my biggest gripe.
Un-Fit
We drove 2 new Civic manual trans for 12 yrs each with no problems. As for the Fit: Wire harness recall. Starter motor replaced at 34,000 m. Broken front axle, and manual trans. replaced at 39,000. We've lived in the same place since 1984, same driving conditions, same avg. miles per yr. Fit's a relatively new model, and its reliability hasn't really been tested until now. We'll soon know if the car's Fit to be called a Honda.
My fifth Honda
The most fun car I have ever driven....however, the fuel mileage is extremely bad. It should be 33 and 38. I am getting 18 and 23. I've owned 2 Civics and 2 Accords, my driving habits are the same. My MPG was within range on the previous four vehicles. I'm being told my mileage will improve after about 5,000 miles....I sure hope so!
Excellent Design and Built II
Hi, it's been 1 month since I submit my first review. I put 1600 miles on it. It's very smooth and you'd be more than happy with its power as long as you are not a racing car driver. Still in break-in, its highway mileage already hit what is listed. I got 46 this afternoon! (of course, air-con was off, and I used N for a couple of times:-) I love the ease to pull it out from parking lots because it doesn't have a sedan trunk! The ride is quiet but is not as comfortable as a mid-size sedan. You shall avoid Fit if you require a soft, comfortable ride.
Best maintenance free car I have ever owned!
Great small car! Wonderful for commuting. Gets great gas mileage. Has a wonderful cargo area. I put a recliner in the back to take to Goodwill. Great on trips of 200-400 miles. The seats are not that comfortable for a trip across country! We did take a trip to Oregon once and it was ok, but I wouldn't do it again! It is noisy on the freeway but you can still hear the radio really well. Love the cruise control on the highway. Very low maintenance. I have put brakes and new tires and that's about all. The only reason I would sell it is I want to buy another one because now they have back-up cameras and bluetooth.

The Fit is IT
extremely fun to drive & handles like a race car. great sound & options for the price. tons of room & highly versatile. unbeatable value & gas mileage.
My best car
I bought a 2007 Honda Fit and it is now 2017. This car is the best yet. I have only had to replace a muffler. It feels big inside and can carry lots of stuff. It is very easy to see in all directions.

Nice car but...
This is a great car, fun to drive around town...but she's a screamer on the highway. reving 3400 at 110kph. If you can get used to the high revs, the car is awsome. I turn my stereo up. :o)
Good Car
An amazing amount of stuff will fit into the Fit. On the road it is very smooth. Acceleration is surprising for a 1.5 liter engine. Mileage is good - around 32 mpg in real-world driving, but quite a bit short of the EPA figures, as usual. Fit and finish are great. Wish it had automatic headlight on-off like some cars do.
Cool Fit
My Fit continues to exceed my expectations. It's lots of fun to drive because it's quiet, peppy, and nimble. It does all this with more interior room and mots "full size" cars. My fuel economy exceeds the epa estimates after 3500 miles. I've gotten over 40 mpg on a long trip to Las Vegas from San Diego. I'm very happy with this car and can't believe how much car Honda gave me for the price.
Don't have to spend a ton for a good car
Bought my Sport model with 5-speed in Aug 2006. Have no complaints about its performance. I bought it for the gas mileage and it hasn't disappointed. In mixed driving, I still get about 35-36 mpg, and it has 80,000 miles on it now. Taken trips from ATL to: Memphis; Pennsylvania; WV (in winter); FL. Average about 41 mpg on these trips. Also haul around 3 kids. It may not be extra spacious for them, but you don't have to drive a gas-guzzling SUV when you have more than 1 child. I can't stand seeing big suburbans getting 10 mpg while my Fit hauls 3 kids just fine. So far, all is well with my Fit. I highly recommend it!
great value
12 months and 60,000 miles. I think it's broken in. It is what I expected it to be. Get 40 mpg when I drive like an old man. My highway mileage is closer to 35 mpg. The ride is on a par with my Mustang GT. The workmanship is ok. The power is about what is expected from a 90 ci engine. I will say the acceleration is about like my old Buick 225's. 455 vs 90 ci. I'll take the 90. Passing? Chose the right gear, keep the rev's up and it does ok. Center armrest? Get a big, long, round pillow. A/C can't keep up? Tint the windows. Doesn't perform like you wish? It is what it is. Pretty darn good car, especially when you look at the price. Cheap carpet? Oh well, look at the price.
Love FIT
I have just gotten past the break in period and love the car even more than I anticipated. It really does feel like a '93 CRX. The interior is beautiful and, except for a temperature gauge, seems well equipped for a basic level vehicle. I haven't taken any advantage of the seat configurations yet,the dog is always in the back seat, but the seats are comfortable and well made. I also tested a Yaris. I must admit that the Yaris has a sharper exterior design but the FIT is far nicer on the inside and much more fun to drive. My first calculated fuel tank got me 35 miles/US gallon.
FIT YOU??
I bought my fit because I was working in AZ and living in CA. With the current cost of gas I needed something with good gas mileage. I can travel from Redlands CA to Lake havasu AZ and only use 5gallons of gas doing 70mph the whole way!!! The car handdles really good up in the mountains, and on the freeways. I feel that it is a little under-powered going up and down the hill but then again its only a 4cyl. Im glad that I bought my FIT I wont sale it for anything. Its priced well and will save you a lot of money at the pump for sure.
Best car ever!!
This car is the best car ever!! If I was rich and drove an Aston Martin I would still drive this car!! This car is perfect for your kids first car, college students, and people on a budget like me!! I am a single working mother and this car Fit's me and my lifestyle!
A very nice car
Pickup is not as agressive as my former Taurus SHO, but adequate in our hilly terain with 4 passengers. More nimble and handles well. I'm 6'4" and have head room. I measured driver side dimensions and it's as roomy as our Lumina Van; adequate trunk space for most purposes. Very tolerable on cross country trips, even in the back. Quiet interior, nice stereo.
The Fit is Awesome
I just bought a Fit in April. It is not only the best small car I've every owned. It's the best car I've ever owned. The interior is roomy and does not fill like you are in a sub compact vehicle. The performance that Honda gets out of it's 1.5 liter engine is amazing. I can also haul things in this vehicle that I had trouble hauling in my Chevy Impala. Thank You Honda for a great vehicle.
Nice Fuel Miser For Around Town Driving
I was able to get 40 mpg consistently with my 5 speed manual Fit. But then I tend to granny it - limiting highway speed to 60 mph. It's a typical Honda in terms of reliability and quality. At 110k miles, the engine still ran like a top - no oil leaks or oil burning - super reliable. Unfortunately, the engine lacked torque and as others have stated, it's very "buzzy" at highway speeds. At 60 mph, the engine is turning 3000 rpm. Fuel economy falls off about 3-5 mpg if you turn the A/C on or drive at 65 mph or higher on the highway. It would have been much better if the engine had a longer stroke (more torque) and gearing more suitable for highway use (maybe adding a 6th gear). Other than that, it's very intelligently designed with plenty of cargo/passenger space and decent handling. Its main appeal though is fuel efficiency with Honda reliability - you get near hybrid efficiency without having to worry about an expensive hybrid battery failing.

Still going strong at 1.75 years
This is a great little car! Fun to drive. Since this was the base model, it did not have any USB plugins. I purchased an FM transmitter on Amazon so now I can play my music and bluetooth my phone. I mostly needed a grocery go getter and this has all the room I need with the back seats down. Update: Still love this little car! Great in snow and I haven't purchased snow tires yet. Sometimes it gets the "hiccups". I read that it's dirty fuel injectors. So a few times I added gunkout to the gas and it stops. No other problems at all. 2nd update: Had back breaks cleaned and adjusted. It wouldn't "hiccup" when my mechanic drove it, of course. He said NOT to use gunkout but use Seafoam instead. I'll see if that helps. All is still fine.

Bad Driver Seat Ergonomics
I love the fit, but I can't keep it. The gas pedal is 5" off the floor and this keeps my foot almost perpendicular no matter what position I put the seat in, at the end of 30 mins I have leg cramps and heel pain. My husband is 6' and there is not enough leg room for him as the center console is too close to the gas pedal to be comfortable. The amount of time a dealer offers to test drive, it would be almost impossible to discover the bad gas pedal placement, this has developed over months of commuting. I spoke to Honda and this has not been changed in any current models, so I have to trade for something other then a Fit and maybe something other then a Honda. Too bad.
The Fit Fits me!
I am loving this vehicle!! Iv'e had it for about 3 weeks, and I have already put 1500 miles on it. I have taken it on many out of town expeditions, and have thouroughly enjoyed it. I have fit a total of 7 people in it so far!! It has plenty of room, you would be surprised how much head room this thing has!! I recommend buying one right away!
Honda Discontinued parts & Limited OEm parts
We took our 2007 Honda fit in for service (a car we purchased new from the dealership) and we have been told that a number of parts causing the issues diagnosed are no longer available from Honda and that they are also not available from OEMs. When I buy a car, I expect to run it into the ground over a 20 year life-span. This car ia 13 years old and Honda decides to stop making parts for it and does not provide sourcing for same through OEMs. I will NEVER buy a Honda vehicle again.
Honda Fit(s) Me Well
This Honda Fit has turned out to be a very reliable car. I have driven it for roughly four months, and the car runs like a dream. It's also a very good gas sipper, and I only have to fill up its tank roughly every 10 days. Not only it's a good little subcompact for someone who just wants an inexpensive thing to commute in, it's also a cute car. I get compliments on its looks from time to time. Overall, it's been a very good car, and I highly recommend it to a routine commuter who wants something that's economical and yet appealing to the eye.
I love my 07 Honda Fit Sport 5-speed Man
I purchased my Storm Silver Fit Sport 5 speed manual on April 21, 2006. I purchased the car as it was being unloaded from the delivery truck. I have driven 8000 miles in the 5 months I have owned this car. Have had no mechanical problems. The only real "problem" I have had is with the windshield wipers. The wipers have been changed twice by the dealer & both sets "jump" accross the windshield when I use them. I plan on having them changed again. A few things I don't like about the Fit are: 1. The car could use another 15-20 horse power & as much more torque. 2. No center console.3. No sunroof. 4. Configuring seats into "lounge mode" could be easier. 5. Rear seat head rest could be smaller
Not as good as a '95 Tercel.
I've had four new Hondas over the years plus one Prelude I bought used. I thought I could trust Honda to build a good car. Wrong. My wife's car is a (shorter) '95 Tercel 2-DR automatic. The mileage is low on the Fit because the Tercel is more fun to drive for all small-load trips, both grocery- store and X-country. Here's why: Seats too low; no lumbar support; paddled steering wheel uncomfortable; body too wide (turn radius, parking, traffic); ride jittery and steering too quick (needs constant attention on frwy); instruments poor, and disappear in sunlight; fast cornering not fun; windshield posts too thick (pedestrians); transmission gasps; mileage mediocre. The brakes are good.
