Fun car, big enough for the kids!

What a great car! Superb handling and smooth ride. Awesome styling, interior and exterior, lots of room. My two young daughers can sit comfortably in the back with enough room inbetween them for their toys. The best part is, it's a fun, young car...not a boring minivan :) Definitely the best car I have owned (and I've had 2 other Hondas).

Tundra to FIT= easier than it looks

I went from a Tundra to a Fit. The savings on gas alone is close to the monthly payment. Being able to fold the seats flat I have been able to fit everything that I have needed to. It is a surprisingly fun car to drive and I can fit the kids and enough stuff for a long weekend. Only complaint is a creaking sound from the dash.

I would buy it again

First of all, I think the fit is an excellent car. After living with it for a year here are the lacking features: no locking gas cap, no dead pedal, no centre arm rest, thin carpet, the front of car is too low (may hit curb), hard to see front of car, blown easily in crosswinds, slightly noisy, seats get slightly uncomfortable after 1-2 hours. When I bought the Fit, I had a budget in which I could have purchased any car. I bought the Fit because: excellent reliability, great versatility WRT interior space, looks nice, fun to drive, good value, good fuel economy, has ABS and 6 airbags. I can easily live with all the minor deficiencies of this car because of the car's good points.

Great Car for the Money

I bought this car May 31st and have put approximately 5500 miles on it since I travel all over southern Oklahoma for work. I have been very pleased and have avg. between 36 - 38 mpg on the road and 32 - 35 in town. I drive as much on the freeway with 75 mph speed limit as I do in small towns at 35 and am pleased with performance of both. Not as comfortable as my Odyssey EXL van, but not as costly either and I am not tired after a long day of driving so it is fine. I would buy it again and consider it a great decision for a car.

I love my car

I keep saying that "I love my car". My family is sick of it. I ran my fit to the empty line on gas. With air conditioning blaring on high all the time, it gets 25/30. With it on low most the time, I got 34/36 mpg. Yes, 36 mpg while commuting highway! It took over a year for my Fit to even show decent gas mileage, but they dealer had warned me about this, and knowing a great number mechanics and tow companies helped with not hading ridiculous expectations. It runs well, and with constant upkeep and regular checkups it shifts perfectly, and does not pull as a few other reviews have said. Keep your tire pressure up properly, and the noise goes away too.

The stiff sport suspension lets you feel every nuance of the road, making this little car seem fast and responsive. It gets in and out of tight spots easily, making parking a breeze. The interior is bigger than it looks from the outside, and the flexible seat arrangements are genius.

A Great Car With A Few Flaws

I love my car. I love the Electric Blue color, the size, the interior space & driving it. It is absolutely amazing how much you can fit inside. It's also roomy & comfortable for all the passengers. The gas mileage is great at 33-40 mpg depending on city/hwy, how close it is to needing an oil change or if the AC is running. A few things have bothered me: the fact that the AC is auto on with the defrost, my dome light burned out at 45000 miles (I've never replaced this in any other car (even over 150K miles), the paint scratches really easily, no front car mats & the tires did wear quickly as others have said. Overall I'm happy with this car, except maybe should've gotten the Sport instead.

I have 3500 miles on this car and my only disappointment has been the 29 mpg average fuel economy. The interior is roomy, the seats are comfortable, the ride is excellent for a small car, and you can converse with your passenger at 75 miles/hour. I found an excellent center armrest on the internet for $129 that was very easy to install and matches the interior perfectly.

I have been driving my car for almost two years now, putting 100 miles daily. I love it. Fit is efficient and reliable. I waited 5 months for this car, back then it was "a new thing on a market". I already know it from Europe - they also loved it there. I put a lot of highway miles daily but it is no so big expense anymore. I easily get 40 mpg. It is surprisingly spacious inside - I often have a full trunk and things fit easily. Everything works well. The only thing I had to replace was tires, after 36,000.There is one thing that I don't like - the noise of the engine inside the car.

i just purchased the Fit. WOW this car has some pep to it. From 0-40 it's pretty quick but then after that it slow down a little. Can feel the bumps in the car a LOT. Car feels really light, no dead pedal and even when you leave your leg up there is a little bump right in front of the seat it feels a little uncomfortable. Other that that the car is great. Love the inside and out.

2nd review now that owned a year. 40+ hwy mileage, 26-29 city. Previous mileage problems now blamed on gas pumps. Car is stylish, very comfortable-great seats but don't clean easily with very nice interior design. Car has much more storage room than one thinks with very versatile interior. Front of car is very very low and often hits. Front of car is not visible so cannot judge distance and will hit parking blocks. Car has no pick up but then gets the mileage. The ride is comfortable for such a small car and handles nicely and zips right along on long trips. Load maximum is 850 which isn't much and wasn't discussed. Paint seems to mark easily and is necessary to wash with care.

Have about 5000 miles. Great little car. Roomy interior and seats are extremely comfortable. Expensive-looking interiors. Great gas mileage, I get average between 32-39 MPG in city (I don't drive like I stole it). Helped 2 friends moved with this car. They were super impressed with how much room this car have, it's like having a truck almost. Its safety features are +++! For the price, you can't go wrong!

Here is a great looking car that takes 87 Octaine gas, gets more than 30 MPG, is five star crash rated, costs less than the average "Yank Tank", and, has paddle shifters to boot. Add in Honda Technology and reliability, couple that with its European design and debugging (no its not a new car) and what's not to like!

If you need a car that is going to give you excellent gas mileage, is functional and surprisingly peppy, this would be worth looking at. With folding seats in the front and back, the entire inside seems to open up allowing one to transport large items with little difficulty. I purchased to extended warranty and feel good knowing that I have bumper to bumper protection for the first 120,000 miles or 6 years. The only drawback thus far is how the vehicle manages bumps and pavement breakups. On those occasions, the ride can be somewhat 'primitive' - hold on to your fillings! Power locks, windows and remote mirrors as standard accessories are nice touches. Overall, for around 15 grand, a terrific deal!!

I absolutely love this car! It zips around without noticeable effort, the suspension is tight but not jarring, and the steering is precise - what fun to drive! Honda made exception use of all available space and used high quality materials. I never feel like I'm in an inexpensive box sacrificing comfort for economy - it's small but not cheaply built, and I'm fairly large @ 6' and 215 lbs. The headroom is incredible and the seats are just right. Throw in Honda reliability (I've had several and also own an Acura TL) and you have an incredible car - it just happens to be small. What a blast!

We bought it in April, and I've been enjoying it ever since. Was concerned about reviews of low power, but combined with the size, it's not a problem at all. And the cargo capacity is amazing! We catered a friend's party, and carted in food for 30 people in three large coolers with space to spare for other supplies. In addition, my father-in-law is 6'4" and can sit anywhere in the car comfortably. It's very peppy pretty much anywhere in it's range, and I constantly find myself having to slow down as I hit 80-85 mph without a problem. Can't wait for the rumored hybrid model.

This new Honda is FIT for a Queen or King. Great gas mileage, plenty of get up and go power and plenty of room. I was amazed at what this car can do. Handles like a midsize car, and gives you mileage per gallon like a motorcycle. Fit is stylish, compact and everyone stops you to ask what kind of car it is and where can they get one. This is a winner.

This car is fun to drive. had it since mid 06 sometime. Was trading in my explore for a accord or civic when they were putting them on the showroom floor. Was impressed with them and bought the first one from that dealership. Have been happy with it every since. Have had it on a 3400 mile and 2 2200 mile trips. Love it. have 43,000 mile on it. I use Royal Purple oil because i believe there is no better oil. Have done nothing to it. Kept my tires checked and oil change. My wife drives it instead of our Accord 6 cyl. She love it.

This car is great around town or on the highway. Very fun to drive, especially in manual mode with the paddle shifters. Good audio system. Great hybrid or small SUV alternative!Seats are attractive and comfortable. All controls are easy to find and have a certain panache to them-especially the gauge cluster with looks like it belongs in a much more expensive car. Love the leather wrapped steering wheel too! Great car for the money. Interior layout with the "magic seats" are just that-magic! The exterior looks, although a little funky, grows on you with time and the car is much better looking in person than in photographs. A very fun car! I look forward to many years of economical driving.

Check out Car and Driver for May 06..beats 15 other car's in the Fits catagory..Rated #1 on all levels and 50mpg on the Highway and excellent crash test results. Honda is again the benchmark for vehicles and purchase price won't kill the pocketbook.

We had to unexpectedly buy a new car when our Chevy Malibu developed fatal issues. The Fit was on my short list of replacements. I found one certified preowned and jumped on it. It is easily the best, most enjoyable car I've ever owned. The interior room is nothing short of amazing. I'm 6'2", so whether I can fit into a car is a big concern for me. The Fit is a little snug, but not uncomfortable in the least. It literally zips around like a big go-kart; the power from such a small engine was a pleasant surprise. I'm still on my first tank of gas, but so far it appears to be getting around 40 MPG highway.

I have owned this car for a little over 3 months now, and it never fails to surprise me! I loved it the moment I test drove it. I have helped several friends move and taken a couple road trips already, and the amount of cargo this car can hold is staggering!! Along with that, it is comfortable for people of all heights and is fun to drive. It is much more zippy than you expect for an engine that size, and accelerating on the highway is done with ease. If you want a reliable, driver-friendly car, you should seriously consider the Fit!!

Nice handling, and quick performance makeit fun to drive. I have the brilliant orange color, and 2 people at work don,t like the color. But the other 682 people at work like it. It,s a smart car I,ve been told, with you look good in it! And I'm 46 years old. The Fit rides mutch better then the Matrix in my test ride. The fold up rear seat has come in handy also. I also like the up graded radio, it puts out a plesent quality sound at a loud volume sound level. To improve this car would be hard to do, unless you were talking about the flour mats, There a little small.

Very cheap carpeting! Freeway road noise more than I would like. Gas mileage in town is poor- 27-29. Hwy 36 with Sport A/T. (I drive very carefully!) Wish seat was a couple inches higher off floor and I really miss passenger armrest. Seems to be great variance in mpg among Fit owners from online chat rooms. Mine idles at 9-10 mph consistently. Was told that's correct. Very short on small storage spaces.

Cute car, good throttle response. Very weak engine on just rolling hills - always downshifting. Car would be hell to drive in mountainous terrain. Have no idea why Honda did not and does not swap this 1.5L for the Civic 1.8L. Increase HP from 109 to 140 with better gas mileage, engine would still fit. No brainer from my perspective. Have 3000 miles over the first month, and have been getting 28- 30 in 50/50 city/highway driving. Terrible, should be getting at least 34 and on straight highway at least 37 MPG. Message boards do seem to vary a lot on the mileage reports. Honda, why can't a 2600 pound car get 35+ for mileage when my 2003 Civic averages 33mpg city and 36mpg highway.

I bought this car to help out with my gas bills. I also own a del Sol and an Astro. The ride is tight, but car can get fidgetty in a strong wind. The car is also much quicker than I expected...I have caught myself doing 85 mph more than once. The interior is HUGE! Lots of room, cupholders, bins, and pockets. Very comfortable, and quiet. I have only owned the car for a short time, so I cannot report on the reliability...but hey...it is a Honda.

The dealer had put on 4 new tires--whatever they were they are horrible....maybe the car is just too light.I thought my vw jetta was bad in the snow but the fit is ridiculous. I cant get out of my driveway even after I've shoveled it out.I got stuck on a level alleyway pulling out to a level street! After the road was plowed the remaining snow was throwing me all around even though the larger car in front of me was ripping right along. Now I'm scared to venture out with even the lightest snowfall.I 'll have to do more research next car purchase time.

I recently sold my 2005 CRV since my wife and I had 2 SUVs, and we decided to downsize to 1 SUV (and be a little bit economical) so we went with the Fit.Prior to the CRV I had a 1999 Mazda Miata which handled incredibly.I test drove the Nissan Versa, since we wanted a compact 4 door, but in the meantime I had a deposit on the Fit.So it was between the Versa(drove nice also)and the Fit.My wife was impressed by the size of the interior of the Fit, which she noted that it did not feel much smaller than the CRV, deceptive interior size. The steering and feel on the road reminded me of being in the Miata, however with much more interior room.I know why the dealers can't keep them on their lots.

I purchased this car in Feb. 2007 and have already put over 31,000 miles on it. I often drive rather quickly (on interstates, highways, and back roads) and have never gotten below 36 mpg. The Fit's suspension is pretty stiff which may turn off some drivers, but I think it makes little little car really fun to drive on twisty roads. As someone who often gets buyer's remorse with large purchases, if I had it to do all over again, I would still buy the Fit.

My first real trip in wifey's new Storm Silver Fit sport automatic was a combination of surface streets during afternoon rush with high speed expressway on the return trip. Total ride was 140 miles in one sitting. My car is an Audi A6 3.2 Quatro. This Fit Sport is as quiet and rattle free, CD player is nearly as nice. Interior is completely acceptable, build quality as nice, paint is quite good. The car handles bad roads and X-way ramps better than the Audi. What's wrong? The accelerator pedal is uncomfortable to work at low speeds and the engine needs better mounts or engine balance shafts. It is buzzy when it's working hard. That's pretty often. Sunroof please?

As soon as you sit in this car, you start bonding with the intuitive dashboard, attractive interior, firm no nonsense seats, sweet sound system and maneuverability. Take it out for a spin and at 33 mph city and 38 hwy, it makes driving fun again. The FIT A/T Sport with paddle shifters is suprisingly fleet and delightfully responsive. The seats are like oragami. You can fold them every which way. The result is a huge amount of cargo room and/or comfort for back seat passengers. Parking is a joy and so is the price tag at $16,000 out the door. This car is selling like hotcakes.

We just sold our 2004 Honda CRV and purchased a 2007 Fit for my wife to drive. The CRV only got about 20-22 mpg in her daily commute. She is getting 30-35 with the Fit in the first 1,000 miles of driving. Very pleased so far. Versatile, fun to drive, economical, and (we hope) reliable. We are a "Honda Family" and also have a 2003 Accord (son at college), 2005 Civic (daughter), 2006 Accord (me), and now the Fit for my wife. We purchased our first Honda in 1999 and have had only one issue to date (radio had to be replaced in the 2003 Honda at 95000 miles) - NO OTHER PROBLEMS in 350,000 miles of driving. :-).

Average 35 mpg for 2500 miles - 500 mile round trip to Cape Cod, 38 mpg - best, 41.5 200 round trip to Catskills - very comfortable, lots of interior passenger and storage room - quieter than 2003 CRV - automatic can be driven like a sedate sedan or a corvette with "paddles" for instant shifting - steering is digital, extremely accurate - no fatigue after long trips - outstanding radio with 200 watt amps., direct connection for IPod, satellite radio, etc. - note: 6 speakers, not 6 CD player featured - front seat atop gas tank gives good visibility (but no reference frame in front when parking, can easily override curb - do it once and you remember to back off !) - It fits !!!!!

Surprised how peppy this car is, especially with the paddle shifters. I think it is a stealth Mini. Typical Honda quality. Great handling for the price.

The Fit fits me

The standard equipment, mechanical, safety and ride-handling characteristics rival the premium brands. Dual front, dual side, front-to-rear side curtain airbags, ABS, versatile seating arrangements (MagicSeat), and upscale interiors are wonderful even to the base Fit (I have the Sport AT trim). Paddle shifters in my Fit are awesome too, close to totally driving in manual without the stick-shifting and clutch. MP3 aux outlet is a nice bonus too. Buying the Fit is like buying years of fun, safety, security and total peace of mind. If you can stretch budget, go for the Sport trim MT or AT.

I bought the simple Fit and am very pleased with it. Wanted manual, AC, straight back so that the back passengers didn't fry under a slanted back window. The Fit has it all. Yes, fun to drive. Now to see how it handles in a N OH snow belt....

The first three days we had our Fit we put over 400 miles on it. The Fit is comfortable during trips with its "refreach mode". The paddle shifters are a lot of fun when you want to play with the road. The Fit is solid. When you close the doors, hatch or even the glove box you get a nice solid thump. The view of the road is clear with the Fit's low dash style.

I finally found the car of my dreams, or so I thought. Not exactly. I still haven't quite figured out how to use the paddles and when I do, the car seems to buckle and surge. One major problem, which I did not think of, the front of the Sport is very, very low. I live in the Northeast region. If we get a lot of snow in the winter, I will have to get out and shovel the car snow in order to move forward.

A tank in snow

We live in northern NY and for the last couple of winters have put some very aggressive snow tires on. It's a tank. Easily beats big SUVs off the line at snowy/icy stop lights. (Yeah, cheap thrill, I know.) Interior room is amazing. Only complaint is the seats are painful to sit in for much more than a couple hours at a time.

Fresh out of college and being an entrepreneur, I needed a lot of room to lugging equipment as well as something that was economical to run. After looking at the Yaris (yawn), Caliber and versa (which was my second choice) I decided on the Honda Fit. Loads of cargo space and awesome gas mileage had me sold. the build quality is awesome and it is incredibly fun to drive! (By the way, I'm a personal trainer so the Fit was a perfect name!)

43 MPG!

I love my Fit! Her name is Phoebe, because her color is Lunar Mist, and I decided that she should have a lunar name, so she is named after Saturn's 18th moon - Phoebe. Took a drive to friends, who live over 150 miles from me, and Phoebe got just under 43 MPG round trip! Called my mechanic to find out if this is possible. He said yes. I love this little car, and I couldn't be happier with it. If you are looking to get a great small car, you will not be disappointed.

Just bought a new Fit and love it! I can't say enough how impressed I am with this vehicle. It's tight, good looking, deceptively roomy and is easy to please at the gas pump.

Had the car since April, with two highway round trips of 400-600 miles. Mostly driven around town. I've never gotten below 33 and never above 37 with regular unleaded gas. Hauled 20 bags of mulch with seats folded up, hauled 3 golfers and all golf gear also, with one seat folded down. Haven't needed to fully fold down the front seat to get 6-8 feet of length. Good sound system. Everything has been easy to use. Good pick-up and consistency from engine, in any gear.
