Fit Launch
Fit Sport MT, 250 miles. Initial impressions: 'Wow' Super nice build quality and interior materials. Classy instrumentation. Smart handling. Fit doesn't know it is not a sports car! Very precise electronic steering and 'by-wire' throttle control. Fun and spirited drive with relatively firm suspension. Great headroom and leg room for a car this size (how did Honda do that). More headroom than Civic, Accord, and CRV. Fit Sport Audio has impressive audio quality; only one CD slot but with iPod Music Link, access hundreds of tunes. Seating for four is comfortable. Magic seat arrangements and hatch make this car seem like an Odyssey Mini. Nothing but fun. Due to break in gas mileage TBD.
First Orange Honda Fit on Long Island
I bought my Fit for MSRP, sight unseen in April after reading everything I could on Fit, Scion, Versa. I average 34 mpg in my daily 1/2 hour commute, shuffle family around, and 40 mpg on the highway. It really is roomy and comfortable, even on long trips. I hate Honda dealers, and this is my third Honda. Definitely recommended for the commuter who needs to haul stuff occasionally.

Fun to drive, great gas mileage
Good acceleration for a low hp car. Great gas mileage, I average well over 40 mpg. Handles nicely, tight. Good visibility. Holds a lot of stuff for a little car.
Robletto
Fast little car windows all over so great view very comfy, alot of room you can haul a dryer washer machine bikes, I never had any big repair on this car, at 223854 miles The Cadilacconvertor is going out for right now I just put a spacer on it. The radiator crock and it overheats I will install a new one soon. Honda Fit 2007 are great.

Japanese Mini Cooper
Having owned an impressive list of performance cars I was not expecting much from the Fit in terms of performance but I was badly mistaken. This car is a blast. With a few aftermarket upgrades I made(suspension springs and lighter wheels) this car handles as well if not better than a Mini. The lack of horsepower is just not missed when you have such a wonderful chassis to play with. Gas mileage has been 38mpg on average. Build quality is excellent. Paint is good. No rattles to be heard. If you are a car enthusiast forced to "downgrade" for a while, this car is no downgrade!
My Little Blue Beast
Vroom vroom baby!!! This little car has a lot of "get up and go" as my mother put it and it is soooo much fun to drive. I picked up a queen size, four post bed frame last week with ease all because of the 40/60 flip down back seating area. Also, the seats flip up for a different kind of space. I use that feature on a daily basis so my dogs don't get the seat furry. All my friends are jealous of my seemingly "never empty" gas tank because I get such great gas mileage. Oh and the color! People are always checking me out and asking me if it's a hybrid. Thank you Honda!!! I love my car!
Fit = Fun Intelligent Transportation
For superior fuel economy, reliability, comfort, aesthetics, and just plain fun, the Honda Fit fits. The first two weeks after I bought my new Fit Sport, my daughter and I took my new car on two road trips. It outperformed our expectations in every area. Expect people to ask about your car wherever you go. It's cute and sassy and attracts attention. If MP3 connection, remote keyless entry, and cruise control are important to you, choose the Sport version. The trim that comes standard on the Sport is sexy too! I've owned Honda 70's CVCC Powder Blue 5 door wagon with manual choke, 80's Civic and Accord, 2000 S2000, (a Volvo850) and now this car. I may have to buy a second Fit for my kid!
Love this car!
This car has been very efficient. It is roomy and seats four adults comfortably. I have been VERY impressed.
POOR performance
I replaced a 1986 Civic Si with this weak sister in April. Big mistake. My Si got about 15% better fuel economy and would run rings around my Fit. Top speed in 4th gear (5200 RPM): 101; top speed in 5th gear: 83. No kidding. 83 MPH. Disgusting. Oh, mediocre acceleration as well.
Buy this car if you love frequent repairs
We bought this car with 128,000 miles on it and in decent condition. In 7 MONTHS of owning it (January 2018), we've replaced both headlights, replaced all tires, replaced the entire ignition mechanism (very expensive), replaced the outside drivers door lock because our key got stuck, fixed leaking coolant, and replaced the blower fan motor. All of this has cost us about $3000, which is what the car is worth. We initially decided to get a Honda because of their so called GREAT reliability. Huge mistake. One of the most annoying things about this car is that it DOES NOT have cruise control, and the super outdated audio system.

not the gas saver we need.
We like the Honda for it's loading room. We are not getting the mpg that the dealer said it would 30+! real world mpg is 25 city & 28 hwy when we got it new the mpg was better, We fill the honda is a city car only!! the ride is too rough for a long road trip- over 100 miles, cheep set's, and 6'3- 250lbs not much set under you, I had an maz 323 1987 that road better!!
Path worn to dealer
Repacing Toyota 03 ECHO w/70k (I miss her) @6500 my-cars been back three times.1 check fuel cap 2 repace fuel cap 3 oil change that took 2 hrs. Head hits grab rail, pedals too close together, gas pedal placed wrong, paint not durable, carpeting is cheap, parts took 5 weeks (touchup paint, pastic holder for fuseblock cover [CHEAP]) Sputters from a cold start. console takes away valuable leg and knee room. 41.5 mpg avg w/40lbs of air in tires handles ok - has decent acceleration Lights flicker w/alternator load and battery is too small. No ash tray-glove box is large.
Love it all except
The driver's front seat can be a bit harsh on long trips. I am over 6 Ft tall and it takes some getting used to the lack of comfort. Buy a K&N Drop In Filter, I drive 90% highway and got a TRUE 42 MPG on my last tank doing 70 MPH. Buy an armrest on ebay ($50 bucks), best investment in the world for this car. Everything else is great as far as driving, was skeptical based on reviews here but I have seen none of the problems others have posted. MINOR DISLIKES: Taching 3500+ RPM at 70 MPH, Drivers seat needs to go back farther, not enough interior lighting, seats attract every piece of fuzz. See, I said they were minor.
Bought new in 2006!
It's now 2021, over 200k miles and my fit has never broken down or needed any repairs besides a few recalls. Just tires, brakes and basic maintenance. Plus my once a year oil change with high mileage synthetic 20w oil. My only complaint is I never got great gas mileage. 25 city, 30 highway. But hey, it's a honda, you have to drive it like you stole it!!!

Spend Your Money Elsewhere
Purchased Honda Fit 8/2006. LOCK: After 2 years, the driver's lock stopped working. Honda did not stand by the lock. Passenger lock also failing. BRAKES: Passenger brake caliper stuck causing the pad to wear down on that side only. Honda fixed it and promised it wouldn't happen again. This time, slider sticking, brake pad on passenger worn again! VISIBILITY: The side curtain airbags cause two very large blind spots for people my size (under 5'3"). HANDLING: The car has a high center of gravity. Wind causes the car to dance a bit on the highway. BODY INTEGRITY: Any kind of minor collision causes this car to crumple and the bumper to come off! The car is very boring.
Honda needs to start over with the FIT!
Having owned my Fit for 6+ months I do NOT and will NOT recommend it. IMHO Honda needs to start over. I have lots of issues with it. First is the Windshield wipers. WHY does that passenger wiper have to swing all the way into the drivers view? I feel this is a Safety Issue. However I guess Honda doesn't care. I could go on and on with all my gripes with the car. There are a few more that NEED to be mentioned. The Seats are not comfortable for long rides. The gas tank, making annoying sloshing noises. (For those that don't hear it I have to say HMMM...Are you DEAF?!?) Rear license plate holder allowing the plate to rattle. The paddle shifers on the steering wheel (boggles my mind WHY)
Love my Fit 07
I bought my Fit used with 45K on it. Mileage is 92K now PROS: I'm 5'3" & find it very comfortable on my round trip commute of 50 miles and 4 hour trips. 2. It has huge cargo capacity for it's size. Hauls all my art and display equipment. Brakes work fine. Tires were new when I bought it & still have them after 47K more miles. I rotate seasonally. It runs like a champion!!! I'll buy another one! CONS: the quality of the seat covers & floor covering - sub standard. Carpet has worn easily and everything sticks to it. 2. The front bumper is very low & doesn't clear average bumper stops -beware & stop before you hit it. 3. Automatic trans. shifts a bit rough...just minor problems.
Don't buy it for the MPG
Great use of interior space - we've had 5 tall people in it at once and everyone has room. The folding seats are great. Disappointing mileage in real world use. Our 100% city driven car is averaging 16 mpg and it's certainly not being thrashed.
awesome car!!!!
just put my 07 fit over two hundred and still loving bernie !!!

Great Car!
I just bought the car, and I gotta say, it is so much fun! Everything works great, the thing even performs great for such a small car! And there's great mileage, and space for all my stuff! I recommend this car for everyone!
Honda Fit Rocks it's class
In its class segment, nothing beats the Honda Fit. This car has comfort, performance, fuel economy, and awesome utility all built into one car. Handling is spectacular for its class, but acceleration is about average although it has good kick off the line. Utility is beyond description. The seats in the Fit are able to be configured for nearly any cargo load and the different seat configurations are a snap to put in place. The front seats have a slider lever on the seatback so that you don't have to hunch over to move the seat forward. The only gimmicky part of the car is the paddle shifters in the S model I have. They are not as easy to operate as one would think.
keep Fit, stay Fit
Just bought it. Love it! Very responsive throttle, so it feels zippy. Much bigger inside then expected. Comfy ride and surprisingly quiet. I had a 2002 CRV EX and the Fit rides just as nice and has less road noise... could be a better stock tire. I am happy with this little guy and with this kinda gas mileage I'll be grinning from ear to ear for a long time.
The Perfect MUV (Metro-Urban Vehicle)
The Fit is one sweeeeeet ride. Comfortable, economical, great shifter, zippy performer, handles well. Even though it is a four-year-old design, it shows why Honda garners so many awards and loyal customers. I have heard it compared to the Chevy (Daewoo) Aveo in looks, but The Fit is a much more integrated design, and the interior is light years ahead of the Koreans. No other small hatchback, urban runabout or wagon comes close to the Fit, except perhaps the Scion xA. It is Storm Silver Metallic, sort of an almost charcoal grey, with black interior. The only major flaw is the lack of a sunroof option. Honda, great job! I will surely take a close look at the next-gen Fit in a few years!
Great Car, Great Price---It's a HONDA!
Probably the best compact off the line. It comes standard with what the others consider options! Alloy wheels, 200 watt sound system, goes 80+ mph! Quick off the line with VTEC 1.5L. Interior styling better than most mid-level sedans and even better than some luxury vehicles. Honda hit a home-run with this one! Silver Storm shows the lines well and turns heads everywhere we go!
I love my Smart Fit!
I have the Blaze Orange Fit and this is the smartest car I have ever owned! I love the looks and enjoy the utility. I am an outdoor cat so I love the fact that I can put my bike in it with relative ease and it will hold a great deal of cargo for camping and hiking trips. Looking at it from the outside, you would never guess how much head room and utility it actually has on the inside! It is a very comfortable ride for such a small car and the gas mileage is outstanding.
My Honda Fit
This car has been a joy to own and drive. The only complaint I have about it is the road noise at highway speeds. If I was to do it again, I would order some extra undercoating so it would be a quieter ride at highway speeds. Well, I really have one more complaint; I cannot keep my daughter out of it when she is home from college.
It Just Fits!
With 700 miles and 1 week in Honda's Fit, I'm enjoying the ride! It handles exceptionally well in the twisty Santa Cruz Mountains with enough power to keep up (and pass) most everyone. The interior is roomy and comfy with lots of of space to haul big items. The 5 speed manual has short, precise throws and the electric steering gives enough feedback for spirited driving. Despite it's small econo car looks, it is ready for a long drive with so many standard features (even more on the Sport model I own). The mileage so far is around 34mpg (twice my trade-in). The price point 'fits' the feature content. Everything works so far and I'm very happy with the Fit.
Love my Fit!
Love driving my Fit! It does fit anywhere, and is very comfortable inside. I have two six foot sons, and they say there is enough room. I took four basketball players to a funeral and they all fit!
The Perfect FIT
I'm happier with this car in the one week that I've owned it than I was with my Beetle... the first car that I ever loved:) This car is much more practical for today's varied needs. The design puts safety first, and flexibility a close second. This car can be set up like a computer lounge or a comfortable ride for the dogs... I can't say enough good things about it! Also, I just went on a 400 mile trip and was comfortable the entire time listening to my Ipod through the 200 watt speakers... was never bothered with engine noise or felt like I needed to 'stand up and shake out my legs' from sitting too long. And I was smiling at the gas station!
Makes me WANT to drive
I knew I wanted a hatch so I spied this in the latest car and driver. The FiT blew the competition out of the water. I checked it out and signed the same day. I love the handling. The suspension feels like something more likely to be on an acura and the electronic steering is amazingly precise. The sound system is great (especially that big, bright, blue screen). The shifter is precise and the clutch is light. This car truly makes city driving fun! It could use a few things like a dome light, armrest floormats and some more horesepower. But all of those things can be added so its not a major gripe.
Best Value
We looked at the xA, xB, accent, Rio, Spectra, Civic, Sentra, Corolla, and others but after testing the Fit ...no contest... the Fit is far better than the others... its combination of looks, feel, room, features, price, & mileage are unmatched... definitely need to get the Sport... more than worth the extra money... the Civic has less room, less flexibility, less features, and less looks (opinion), all for a couple thou more... only advantage is more power.
Its a BLAST!
I got my fit because my old car, a 96 nissan maxima, had all but bit the dust. The second it rolled off the truck and I sat down in it (I bought it pretty much sight unseen :-/) I imediately fell in love! Its a beautiful car! At 6'2", I still have about 3 inches of headroom, thats more than I had with my 'luxury' automobile. Another thing I had missed was cupholders. This has one for every passenger! Horray! But seriously, this is a blast to drive. Very peppy and the paddle shifters make driving low-rev to save gas a breeze! My coworkers had been making fun of me as I was waiting for devlivery about how small it is and such (theyre all huge truck drivers)but they saw it, that stopped.
Fit and Fun
Just purchased today, but had to drive 120 miles one way to find the base in manual. Supply is limited, demand is high (for all styles) and dealers won't trade. Anyway, drive home on US HWYs as well as Interstate... driving speed at about 70-80 with no problems. Didn't notice a "buzz" or even too much wind noise. Great for our second "around- town" car, with capability for hauling items or short duration roadtrips with the family.
What a fun little Go Cart
I traded in my SUV for a car that will get excellent gas mileage and be reliable over the years. I got more than that! This car is great. It is a lot of fun to drive and gets great gas mileage. My friends and family have always owned Honda's and have never been disappointed. I have owned BMW's, Jaguars, Saabs, Land Rover, and Mercedes. This car beats them all in fun factor. I am more satisfied with purchase than all of the others.
"Fit" For Economy!
Excellent design, handling, performance and versatility...we need more like this one!
Good, but not perfect
We have owned our black Fit (automatic) for 2 months and love to drive it. However, our gas milage (mostly around town) is only 26.5-28.6 MPG, much lower than we expected. The a/c is anemic as well. We were in a limited time frame to buy and ended up paying $1000 over the sticker price for the only Fit in our area. I'd love to see this in a hybrid, minus the dealer bribe and that would be much closer to perfect!
Best of the Sub Compacts
Not in the class of my wife's Acura TL, but just as fun to drive, and much more economical!
A Nice Fit
I use my Fit to run around town, drive to work, get groceries, take short road trips (2 hrs), etc. Typically it's just me in the car but at least a few times a week I'm hauling two or three other tall adults along with me. I'm 6' 1" and the rest range between 5' 10" and 6'. Handling is responsive, engine is reliable, and fuel economy is great. The Fit usually gets between 30 and 32 mpg with a mixture of city and highway. However, I drive pretty aggressive so I'm very impressed considering my '03 Montero Sport averaged 16 to 17 mpg. Stereo works great but I'm not an audiophile. I wish the AC had a bit more cooling capacity but after getting darker window tinting this is not as big of an issue.
Love my Fit!
Great fun car to drive. Handles well for a small car. Very roomy inside and lots of cargo space with rear seats folded. Averaging 40-42 mpg highway. Looks are deceiving from the outside, handles like a mid size from the inside. Lots of head room.
the new "Fit"
We just bought the car yesterday, but based on what we know so far, we love it. It's very roomy! We bought the 5 speed manual, and it has a nice get up and go. I look forward to taking it out on the highway.
Fit
Well my fit is about 2 weeks old now and I have to say it is a great car! I have been getting anywhere from 32-35 mpg which is a big improvement over anything else I have owned. The fit is very fun to drive, has a well designed interior with "tons" of room for people or cargo. This is my first new car and my first Honda, I will be buying another Honda in the future.
Great Value with Style
I drive this car nearly every day and I still can't get over how nice it looks inside and out and how it zips around in traffic. No problem keeping up even passing at 80+ mph highway speeds.
4X4 to My Fit is Go!
Switched from a full size 4X4 pick-up to my Fit. Saved enough the first two months, to make two Fit pymts! The car's becoming so popular that I am afraid of theft! Living in Orlando, parking is a premium at some locations, but the Fit fits anywhere! Economy was my initial goal during purchase, but I've been pleasantly surprised with the "Zip," this car has, especially in city traffic. The car's taken on a personality in our home; it's referred to as the "Fit," and not the car...crazy. It's like having a sports car at economy car cost. I predict the Fit will hold it's value well over time.
The fit is go!
No problems or silly mark ups, put down payment on one of them and it was at the dealer in two day with everything my fiance and i wanted. Great little car that hardly feels cheap or little!
Best Car in 50 years!
I put 12,000 miles on my Fit the first 2 months driving between Dallas and Portland and points in between. It was a great car on the open road and certainly in the tight places in the city. It is a perfect car with plenty of inside space. I can carry a washing machine home from the store if I want. I just wish it would get over 40 MGP on the road.
My Fit
I waited 2 months to get this car and it was well worth the wait.
Great car but missing some stuff
Ok...I traded my car for this one just a few days ago. Believe it or not, I had an '05 Acura RSX Type-S. I wanted the extra room and the gas mileage as well as a more user friendly package and lower insurance rates. I was impressed with everything with this FIT. The instrument cluster is BETTER than the RSX, there's a ton more room, and the ingress and degress is what sold me. Power is lacking but that's what's sacraficed for MPG.
I've got a Keeper!
What a great car this has been. 15K miles and it has been a charm on the city and believe it or not awesome on the Highway (granted that is a revvy engine). It's so fun to drive and what is a driving experience without the Fun?. Once you get on the High Revs during Highway it is amazing how stronger it feels right there past the 5K revs! and you feel so secure and planted to the ground that you even think you're going much slower! Now, that's impressive for a lil' car. I almost forgot, ah the Interior Space. All My friends can not believe how spacious it is inside. We even had a long trip (11 Hours drive) with 5 people with all Suitcases!
the Fit is our near-perfect vehicle
After going over the specs and reviews of the Scion xA, xB, Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa and VW Rabbit, the Fit won my wife and I over. I wanted an xB badly, but for the price the Fit had everything I wanted and needed, plus had higher NHTSA safety ratings than the Yaris and xB (my other two choices). We test drove a Toyota Yaris, but found it to be claustrophobic, less functional (space-wise), and cheaper feeling on the inside. After a test drive of a base model AT Fit, we were sold! The cornering and handling of the Fit is amazing, and it really drives like a little go-kart. It has minor issues, but every car does, especially in this segment. =)
My FIT is GO!
So far, the Fit is GO! I live in a rural area, and even when carrying 4 other teenage boys to the skatepark up a good hill, no problem!
