The Swiss Army Knife of vehicles

It is all that I had hoped it would be and somewhat more. The "suicide" rear doors take a little getting accustomed to, but are beautiful in their design and integrity. What can you say about being "bullet proof", dependable and of great value ...it's a Honda!

Great car

Sadly they stopped making these. It had the same engine as the Honda accord, over 9 inches of clearance for New England winters. Handled well, decent gas mileage, room enough for 8 foot boards for building projects.

Most Useful Vehicle I've Owned

Reliability (it just keeps going), rear seating (like stadium seats in a theater), cargo space (with the back seats removed, I packed in 37 banana boxes full of stuff), durability (no matter how dirty my dog gets the read seat, it washes clean with some 409). Really appreciate the flexibility the movable and re-movable rear seats offer. Only disadvantages I find are that it's a bit difficult for my wife to get in and out of the car (it's higher than most cars) and that the 4-cylinder engine doesn't have as much pick-up as a six would have. Overall, though, I'm delighted with it and plan to keep it forever.

Function before Form

It's fun to drive and has exceptionally better performance than other small, car-based SUV thanks to Honda's slick stick and ever slicker i-VTEC engine that revs with ease thanks to it's twin balance shafts to cut engine vibrations. You won't find a car anywhere near this price range or class that has this much interior room too. One suggestion though, find an aftermarket stainless steel grill as I did to cover the front and especially the lower grille. If ya don't, you'll have a really dented up radiator since it's way too exposed. Want something different, this is it! Want to beat your neighbor's VUE, Escape, Equinox, or RAV4 in a little race or a who-can- hold-more contest, this is it too!

My Element

I chose the Element because I needed more room then a car but not too much. I have one son and we do a lot of camping, fishing, boating and I have a dog. Origionally I was looking for a small truck until I saw the Element. I LOVE it. All wheel drive is wonderful, good mileage, lots of room, lots of windows. A all around great vehicle. I highly reccommend it.
