I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU
'04 EX was my first SUV, first Honda. I hated the seat discomfort, the cheap-feeling floors, minor scratches/discoloration in interior plastic, exterior plastic, worn bushings, rear differential, some other minor things and annoyances. Until i bought 2014 CRV LX. After 3 yrs and 18k miles (hate driving it) I love my Element now!!! I miss it and i want it back!!! My second honda is my last, that's for sure. Element was A LOT of car for little money. Only after some time with the CRV i appreciate the Element. The CRV is like honda engineers went to the bathroom and another honda came out. I won't touch another Honda again due to build quality, and i won't touch anything american-built ever, but if any other company makes an Element-like car with good mpg i'll definitely look into it.

a real bummer
Hard riding, noisy, lucky to get 19 mpg. Poor visibility, huge pillars block sight, especially pedestrians on a left turn. Owners' manual warns that vehicle is top-heavy and prone to roll over. Ability to pull seats up along sides is a nice feature except that it eliminates rear side visibility Maximum payload of 675 pounds is an absolute joke. Hard floor covering lets stuff slide all over the car; and is slippery when wet or snowy. Cargo carrying of large, light material is excellent. Poor build quality, rattle in dash, paint over dirt, vibration at freeway speeds. This is my first and (probably) last Honda.

I loved this SUV
I had this SUV for 5yrs, they only thing that I didn't like was the comfort of the seats and that the vehicle rode rough.
Quirky
I still can't say that I like the way the Element looks. It's ugly, and it hasn't really grown on me yet. However, it has more interior space than I expected. Rear seat passengers have tons of space and 2 cup holders, as well as 2 more for the front seat passengers. Great sound system. AWD is great in the snow! Acceleration isn't astounding, but it isn't slow. No carpeting means cleaning up spills is the best. Front pillars make big blind spots, and the "suicide doors" are a pain in a parking lot. The brakes took some getting used to for me, the pedal is a little soft and positioned strangely. Smooth and gentle steering and ride. AC began squeaking recently and cranks VERY slow in the cold.
Rare manual transmission EX 4WD
Hard to find 4WD with manual transmission, Fiji Blue. Shopped around but no discount. Finding the actual vehicle was tough. Highly critisized rear access door is less of a concern as long as you recognize it's not a four door vehicle (think of double cab pick up truck).
