Used 2023 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
Delivers What It Promises
So far the 2023 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid delivers what Honda promises. I'm averaging around 42 mpg in combined city and highway driving. The driver's seat is very comfortable and the power adjustments are easy to use. All the safety features work well. The on screen options are relatively easy to understand and use. Acceleration is more than adequate around town or on the interstate. As I would expect, storage space is up to par, too. This is my third Honda CR-V, and it seems to me that this newest design in a big step up from the previous ones. UPDATE: I've owned my 2023 Honda CRV Sport Hybrid for about a year and half. To date, it delivers on all my expectations. The ride is smooth, it handles well, and it holds the road. Average mileage has exceeded my expectations. I usually average 43 plus miles per gallon per tank of gas, while driving both in the city and on the interstate. During a recent trip from Knoxville, TN to Franklin, TN, I got nearly 45 miles per gallon. Doing so requires that I pay attention to how I drive, but that actually helps me stay fully engaged in driving. The various assistance features work well. I have no buyer's remorse.

Just What is Needed
Quiet, smooth ride. Spacious interior, comfortable seats. Seats heat up quickly. The engine is not noisy. MPG is adequate. Currently 26 mpg mix of city and hwy driving. The redesign is kind of bland. The side and back profile very strongly resemble a Volvo XC60. One was parked beside me and I was convinced it was a new CRV until I got close enough to read the Volvo on the back. Also there is a BMW model that is almost identical in profile. That being said, negatives- The cup holders. A regular bottle of water will fall over when you go around curves. Super annoying. No homelink garage opener. No wireless CarPlay. Backup camera could be clearer. And the most annoying thing is the windshield wipers. The fluid comes out of the wiper blades, and it releases when the blades are at the highest position. Ends up wasting the majority of the fluid. Really dislike this.

No repair parts available 2023 CRV hybrid touring
I need a repair part for 2023CRV hybrid touring for several months. It is the end of June. Honda still says that they do not have repair parts available.
2023 is sleek, no longer clunky looking
I've had my 2023 CRV EX-L for a few months now and I couldn't be more pleased with it! The new model this year is much better looking than previous models, and far roomier! It's hard to believe it's considered a small SUV, it has a ton of room and is very comfy to drive. I've been averaging about 30-35 mpg highway which is great. The only real negative is when it comes to price. It took hours of negotiating just to get it down to MSRP. Honda (and all other manufacturers) need to get this price gouging at the dealerships under control. I ended up getting a fair price in the end, but it's a ridiculous and outdated model for selling cars. Would much rather buy directly from the manufacturer with no middleman. Other than that, I truly recommend this car. There's a reason these cars are so popular!

Just follow the crowd and get one!
I really enjoy my '23 CR-V Sport AWD more than I though I would. I "downgraded" from years of luxury cars, and most recently from an Audi A6 which was surprisingly very reliable. I've had a few Honda's in the more recent past too, and really like the brand. I've driven the CR-V for about 1,300 miles now with zero issues and average around 37 MPG. Not bad, but I think the Toyota hybrid system is slightly superior. I cannot vouch for the long-term comfort of the seats, but so far, 2 hour journeys are very comfortable! I prefer the heated cloth over leather unless it is ventilated, which I am surprised Honda doesn't offer as most of its competitors do. The ride and drive is relatively quiet and solid, and the acceleration is perfectly adequate. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to anyone shopping in this class!

Good car
There is nothing sluggish about this car. Yet I’ve got a fwd not awd. It is fast and quiet in the city. Easy and fun to drive. On a hwy a bit louder. Cons: seats like a rock. All these fancy features like brake assist, holding a middle of the line, intelligent cruse control are very much unusable and useless. Brake assist is simply dangerous. It will brake hard when you don’t. somebody behind you would not expect. To turn it off you have to do it every time you start the car, meaning you won’t do it.

The one to beat
Pros (and there are many): - the solid driving feel and quiet cabin give this compact SUV a feel of something much more premium. I came from a Lexus IS350 and the CR-V feels just as premium - cabin layout for audio and climate controls is very intuitive. I also think the 9 inch touchscreen, while it could be larger, is quite intuitive as well. Anything you need is a simple touch away and the customization is a great feature and easy to accomplish - MPG has been good, once the car is warmed up I can consistently get 35-40 mpg city/suburban. I do not drive on the highway much but mpg does take a substantial hit there - styling; this new generation looks great and with the still night pearl blue with black wheels, I’m sold. I have gotten several compliments in the few weeks I’ve had it which is impressive for a CR-V - driving assistance features are helpful and not intrusive. Other comments here discuss experiences with these systems being over-reactive or intrusive but that has not been my experience. - interior space is wonderful. I’m 6ft tall and another full size adult can easily sit behind me with remaining knee space Cons: - highway mpg is meh, which admittedly is not where a hybrid shines - lack of top features such as ventilated seats or the larger 12in touchscreen or full digital display that the new Accord gets. C’mon Honda, no one needs an old analog speedometer anymore! Overall I highly recommend. I previously owned a 2020 RAV-4 XSE hybrid and this feels slightly more premium and refined. It drives wonderfully, has great utility, style and city mpg for the price.
Not as reliable as anticipated
I wanted to love this vehicle. I really did. But the number of times it has needed repair has shocked me.
How about a spare tire?
Ordered my new 23 CRV Hybrid yesterday. I learned that none of the 2023 models (not just Honda) come with a spare tire? You get a small pump and a can of goop. Might be ok for a small tread puncture, but a major blowout, better call a tow truck. I live in Phoenix, and the thought of waiting in 115 degree summer heat for who knows how long for a tow is nuts. I got two different opinions from two dealers. One said they cannot put the spare above the batteries, yet the 2021 CRV Hybrids have batteries AND a spare tire. Another said it's Honda's way of cheaping out. Lower the price a little, and try to squeeze out an extra mpg. Also, selling dealer told me that because of a parts shortage, the blind side exterior mirror indicator is no longer working, and never will be. Hey Honda. Ship the car as "blind side ready" and update it when the parts come in. That's a pretty important safety feature gone. So I'll be buying a spare tire, jack and lug wrench, and tossing it into the back of my precious cargo space. I'm sure it's a nice vehicle , but be aware of these two issues.
Some improvements needed
I’ve had my 2023 Black Ex-L AWD for about 7 weeks now in MN. Overall it’s a good car with some negatives. Rear spoiler holds water for up to an hour after full service car washes. This leaves the back windshield and back of the car looking streaked and dirty as the soapy water that gets stuck in the spoiler is slowly released over time. I have to re-clean the back area by hand after an hour or so. Because it’s unusual weather in February and March in Minnesota, with lots of salt and snow/rain and dirty roads- I have washed my car about 10 -12 times in 7 weeks. It has this problem each, and every time. I have owned 2 Honda Pilots and another CRV prior to this one-Never had this problem before. Took it to the dealership and they said it’s doing the same thing the other 2023 CRV’s are doing. They said there’s nothing they can do about it. Wondering if there is maybe foam under the spoiler area which is causing it to hold water. It’s a small issue but still frustrating. I don’t like that you cannot permanently turn off the auto stop. They should allow you the option in the settings to completely shut this off if you prefer. There is a button you can press to turn it off temporarily but you have to press it every time you are in the car.. I would personally prefer to have this feature disabled completely. There is no built in garage door opener. The positives of this car are that is an extremely comfortable and quiet ride. The seats are comfortable and the ride is smooth.. Easy to drive. Both the interior and exterior is very sleek looking. It gets great gas mileage. It handles well on the snow and the ice..
