Used 2016 Honda CR-V EX 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
2016 CRV - there's no way you can go wrong!!!
Our 2nd CRV after owning a 2008 CRV-LX. The 2008 was trouble free except routine maintenance and one A/C clutch repair which cost $700. Other than that was a trouble free car. We traded it in for a 2016 EX as we wanted to have the bluetooth and backup/blind spot camera. Everything else is a plus in the EX model. We couldn't have been happier with the Honda CRV. Some folks have complained or mentioned about the CVT vibration issue. There is none whatsoever. There are a few things we miss from our 2008. The center dash had a few cubby holes for phone etc which are not present anymore. Also above the glove box was a secondary store place which is no longer present. But these are minor inconveniences we can adjust to as there's plenty of storage space in the car. Kudos to the Honda designers who've improved the car since 2008 and keep doing so. ------------Update------------ 1 year and ~15K mi later, the car is still going strong. Routine oil change done & tires rotated. We noticed an airflow issue in the air conditioner wherein it appears to put out more air on the passenger side than the driver side. Took it into Honda for service and no problem found. For the next CRV, we'd like to see more integration with the iPhone and the onscreen display, especially the navigation from iphone to onscreen very similar to the current Honda accord.

HONDA"S DECLINE
Good Afternoon. I am a longtime Honda owner. Up until now I loved the brand and was very happy with all of my previously owned Hondas. Presently I own a 2017 CRV. The vehicle only has 27,000 miles on it. It has been properly maintained and was in pristine condition when suddenly the air conditioning started blowing hot air. I took the vehicle to the dealer (Rt. 23 Honda in Pompton, NJ) and was advised that the repair cost would be $1896. This is a relatively new vehicle and this type of problem should not be happening. In the past, with previously owned Hondas, if I had a problem after the warranty period and it was something that should not occur in a relatively new vehicle, the dealer would call Honda and deal with the problem and get the problem fixed at no charge to me. Not in this situation, Rt. 23 Honda gave me a number and told me I would have to deal with Honda on my own. I subsequently called Honda and was given a case number and was advised that someone would get back to me in about a week. Well, it’s now August, a month later and I have still not heard back from Honda. I have repeatedly tried contacting them and have left messages. No one from Honda has gotten back to me to date. Going on line I learned that the air conditioning problem is well known to the company and has been going on for years. How sad that company once known for an excellent product and excellent customer service has deteriorated into a company that ignores known defects and ignores their customers who are affected by these defects. In my mind this is fraudulent and unconscionable behavior. Honda’s reputation and goodwill is going down the toilet and Honda should be ashamed.

Worst buy, never go for Honda
After days of research and internet browsings I bought the EX version of crv. From the day 1, I started having problem: whenever I drove downhill, it makes a loud sound until I descend down on the plain area. The outer plastic thing look so cheap and loose. In two years, the converter blew up and had to replace paying a hefty 2300 dollars. Now, there’s engine misfire. Before I fix it I will sell it and buy a RAV4 hybrid. I would never ever think of crv again. In fact, with all these issues, Iam so frustrated with crv that I don’t even wanna get in my car. [non-permissible content removed] Honda, you turned down all my expectations and my dream of driving a problem free car.

Very Peppy
I have had the CRV for a little over a month and 1,000 miles. Great handling, amazing engine and well thought out interior. My daily commute has 6 miles of city at the start, 40 miles of highway in the middle and 4 miles of city at the end (50 combined). The CRV has been averaging 29-30 mpg between fill ups. This is far and above the average of 22 mpg I was getting with my 2005 6 cylinder Ford Escape. Because I was used to a 6 cylinder engine, I was skeptical about going to a 4 cylinder. I was absolutely floored when I discovered that the gas pedal didn't have to be floored to achieve unbelievable acceleration. The fact is, I have to be mindful of my speed so as not to accidentally get a ticket. I have felt very little vibration while idling. The sound from the sound system is fantastic, but it does have small buttons and a quirky menu system, as others have stated. I still haven't figured out how to change the default time zone from Pacific to Eastern. My care came with 17" Bridgestone Dueler H/P tires, which are fantastic. So good in fact, I am dreading that day, 5 or 6 years down the road, when I'll have to replace them ($$$). I have experienced no technical problems to date. Any questions I have had regarding a function I have been able to find at the Honda website or from the CD owners manual that was provided (except how to change the freaking time zone). The back up camera is a nice standard feature and the right side camera automatically comes on when the right turn signal is engaged or can be turned on using the button a the end of the turn signal handle. Being able to manually engage the right camera is particularly useful when you want to see what is in the right lane, if you don't want to use your signal for whatever reason (no ninjas can sneak up on you in traffic). The climate control buttons/controls are large and easy to use, unlike the entertainment/information screen buttons. My model comes with heated seats, for which I have only the highest praise. My smartphone seamlessly connected to the bluetooth and the steering wheel mounted controls/voice recognition gives you true "hands free" communication. I hate telephones as a whole, but I was still impressed. I have been so happy and confident with my new vehicle, that my wife decided to check out the 2016 Honda Accord and ended up buying one because of styling and features. Up until the CRV , I had been a staunch Ford truck buyer and my wife a Toyota fanatic. We have both drank from the Honda Kool-aid cup and are happy we did.

So happy we chose the CR-V EX!
The Honda CR-V's spacious interior and comfort is great. Love the side view camera that shows a wide view when changing lanes. Just packed the college student up and it held A LOT more than expected. Great car in every way!
