Used 2010 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Best Little SUV
I've had my CR-V for six month and driven it through a very snowy Pennsylvania winter. Overall, I love the CR-V and would not hesitate to buy one again. Pros: - Part time AWD was great in snow and icy conditions. Never got stuck even going up icy roads. Got wind-blown into a snow bank and drove right back out - Great MPG for AWD SUV - averaging almost 26 mpg mostly rural (29mpg on the highway) - Leather seats are very very comfortable on long drives - Tons of cargo capacity Cons: - Mine and many other CR-Vs have poor fit and finish. Doors and trim don't line up right. - Jarring over bumps - more like a truck than a car - Nav is primitive and overpriced
Good car but big issues at 110k
I bought this car used at 38k it was great. I choose this make and model because of it reputation for longevity. I kept up with this car over the 7 years I’ve had it. I did oil change every time the car was due, I have a folder full of all my receipts from maintenance done. Recently the car was driving funny Iooked at the engine oil level and it was empty!!! This was only a month after getting an oil change. The dealer is doing a high engine oil consumption test currently. This car is known for a piston ring issue that causes the engine to use more oil then necessary. Honda extended the warranty until 2018 however that doesn’t help me here in 2021. I am extremely disappointed! My uncle thinks the transmission is messed up.I’m going to trade the car. I thought Honda was the best but numerous recalls and huge problems at 110k is unacceptable. No more Hondas.

Disappointed
Terrible! No pick-up power, poor acceleration, poor gas mileage, dangerous due to poor acceleration on the highway. For safety I have to trade in for a different make.
Should have stuck with 14-year old Volvo
My first new car purchase ever, and I couldn't be sorrier. People are amazed that one couldn't be happy with a new car, but while CR-V has great comfort, notable reliability (it should, for a 3 month old car) and impeccable safety in a crash, that's where the benefits end. Gas mileage poor poor poor! Well below stated EPA averages. Trying my best to drive like granny to eek out 18 mpg around town and 21 on highway. Acceleration on highway in a pinch seemingly takes forever to kick in, then lurches you forward; blind spots the size of elephants in back. And for size of car, not that great a storage space in back. Missing the old Volvo clunker. Honda can and should do better!
NICE..but
Purchased the CR-V EX-L for my wife. Love the styling - inside and out. Leather is high quality. Like other owners, think a bigger engine (V6?) would be a plus. However, seems peppy enough when starting from a red light or merging onto highway. Dash is nice, except the LCD portion in the middle - too cluttered. Also, note no scheduled printed maintenance manual - have to rely on the LCD screen "Maintenance Minder" with a one or two digit code - I like to know in advance what's coming up (i.e.: oil change, or major $$$ service.) Also thought mileage would be better than around 21 m.p.g. (50/50 highway / city.) I think it is an excellent small car-like SUV. Sharp car - no problems.
